  1. Makes you think Cerrone was throwing a little shade with this comment from earlier in the day...
  2. They're also in talks for the K-1 rights, which would be awesome. Can't wait to dig up old school Travis Fulton.
  3. And I was happy getting something from China in ten days.

    HOMELAND

I binge watched the entire season over the past two days. Really great season, much better than the second and third. The finale seemed like a bit of a kick in the balls, though - that's it? No giant payoff to the story arc? I'm interested in what happens with season five, but I think the season ended slowly after being so fast-paced over most of the prior 11 episodes.
  5. Dom Cruz hurt his RIGHT ACL this time. My god.
  6. I don't think that "legends division" or whatever you want to call it is that bad of an idea. Dump the guys like Rampage, Shogun, Hendo in there, let them pop a rating. I mean, it's better than CB Dollaway, main eventer, right?
  7. McGehee has a decent year last year, but he's inferior to all three new Marlins infielders. Either use him as a super sub along with Prado, or try to sell high - the 3B market is dead out there
  8. Eovaldi's a good pitcher, type of guy the Yankees need. Wouldn't be surprised if they simply release Jones - they really don't need him.
  9. Myers is apparently going to play center, fwiw. Upton simply can't do it - he wasn't too hot in the corners last year, he'd be a trainwreck in CF
  10. Padres got a new TV deal I think two years ago. Just got widespread carriage last year. They're rolling in the money. Deal is a disappointment to me - you've got a very talented pitcher who won't throw a pitch in 2015, a guy who might project as a utility infielder, a burner who was old for the low minors, and an all-hit, no glove infielder that struggled in his first full year. That whole "contend in 2015" mantra rolled out by Hart was clearly a load of bullshit, and the Markakis signing makes even less sense now. It's like they're trying to make the extensions Wren got done last winter useless since the team is going to suck balls for the next 2-3 years.
  11. Based on what I'm seeing about the return, the Braves hit a whammy while sitting on 10k with one spin left.

    30 For 30

The U Part 2 wasn't awful, but it was definitely worse than the first one. Came off as very whiny and self-important IMO, with a lot less of the insanity that made the first one so enjoyable.
  13. MLB Network is airing an all-access doc tonight about the World Series umpiring crew. It's worth your time. (I got a screener. Review here)
  14. Also, those three players you mentioned were varying degrees of "unplayable" during their final years for teams that didn't really sniff the playoffs. The Dodgers would like to win a title rather than be sentimental.
  15. Scherzer was going to get that money anyway. This isn't anything new. The market is just open for him now that the Lester domino has fallen.
  16. Tigers have been very quiet after re-signing VMart, which is weird for them. They "discussed" a Porcello-Cespedes swap, but it didn't really go anywhere. They might get in on Upton, and want to bring back Scherzer. Don't think they're going to be going crazy this winter - but you never know. They also come out of nowhere to do crazy things. Liriano staying in Pittsburgh for 3/39. Nice value for the Pirates IMO
  17. I have no idea why you'd think they'd trade him. The only other catcher on their 40-man has 11 career PA.
  18. Cubes deal for Montero is expected to be done today. The 40MM left for him is a shitload of money, but A) they can afford it, and B) the framing is hawt Braves nearing deal for Alberto Callaspo too, which /FAAAAAAAAAAAART/

    2015 HOF Thread

Dick Allen also got 11. Also, a second writer (Lynn Henning from the Detroit News) is abstaining.
