Pet peeve time: I hate when they call the first round of an eight-competitor tournament the "quarterfinals". I mean, they sort of are, but implying they're part of the "finals" further implies to me that you must have won at least one tournament match to get there.

I loved Miro-Hobbs, but I think I loved it more at the halfway point than at the end. At that point, I thought the story of the match was that Miro, who usually bulldozes his opponents, had run into a guy he couldn't overpower. (Side note: I find it interesting you thought Miro took too much of the early stuff. To my eyes, the early stuff seemed to be laid out to establish that Hobbs was just a little bit stronger than Miro.) So he had to switch his style and bust out all his high-flying moves. Good, smart story for a pro wrestling match. But then it seemed they dropped that and just started exchanging power moves again.

Excellent show top to bottom. (Well, I didn't pay much attention to the 8-man nor BCC vs Kingston & Some Guy. But I'm sure they were fine.) I think Darby vs Luchasaurus edges out Mox vs Cassidy as match of the night for me. I fucking loved that Darby came out looking like the most resilient mofu on Earth, and he did it without kicking out of a single finisher. A lot of people in AEW could learn from Darby Allin.

To clarify on my earlier post, while I don't agree the match line-up for All Out is "much better" than All In's, I think it's pretty good. I'll be watching. On the other hand, as a non-RoH viewer, seeing guys I've never even heard of get a PPV spot seems pretty weird. But at the end of the day Darby vs Luchasaurus or Orange vs Moxley would each be worth the price alone.

Random question: I enjoyed the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton games, but never played the crossover. How would I go about obtaining the hardware and software to play that game in 2023?

I just looked at the latest spam e-mail from ShopAEW, and they're selling an Eddie Kingston t-shirt that says "Redeem Deez Nuts" with the letters coloured like the Union Jack. Do you suppose Eddie was at one point scheduled to face Miro again at All In?

Wait, is there a risk of being banned for repeatedly pointing out that Luchasaurus is a God-damned dinosaur who knows lucha libre? Because if so, I intend to go down swinging.

I've heard New Vegas was a comparable shitshow on launch, though I can't confirm; I first played it years later. And some of the bugs that are still in are pretty annoying.

Speaking of early patches - I'd be curious to see the reaction if the game were unplayably broken on the Early Access date and didn't get fixed until after the regular launch date.

One other thought: at my age, a four-hour show starting at one in the afternoon goes over a lot better than eight in the evening. Any way we can get AEW to have all their PPVs in Europe?

So that was a pretty awesome show. I want to call out what a great facial expression Nick Wayne made when Luchasaurus grabbed him by the throat. I think the kid might make it in this business.

Did you mean to say Penta vs Mox, winner gets a shot at Cassidy? I don't think Mox even holds a title currently.

I just want to note that Adam Cole is main eventing another AEW PPV, and not only am I planning to watch the match, I wouldn't even be upset if Cole won the world title. The Cole-MJF angle has been that good. So I guess I can't contest Drew's right to the "Chief Adam Cole hater" title any more. He's all yours, Drew.

Is Shaq even still alive in AEW continuity? His last appearance ended ambiguously.
