Everything posted by S.K.o.S.

  1. It's not a straight single elimination tournament. It's 4 qualifying matches for a 4-way match at the PPV.
  2. If you liked him 5 years ago, you'll probably like him now. Some people think he's too spotty or has goofy offense. Some people dislike him because of things other than his wrestling.
  3. I wanted them to do Buddy vs. Fenix.
  4. Going to watch the show tomorrow before coming up with any takes. It's definitely been a while since I felt like I needed to watch a WWE show to be part of the conversation.
  5. Enjoyed GCW's Cage of Survival show today even more than ToS. The scramble opener, SGC vs. Ironbeast, Janela vs. Wreck, and Los Mazisos vs. Yamashita & Sugiura were all great imo, and the main event cage match was an appropriate end to the weekend with several insane glass spots from the top of the cage.
  6. MJF's ShopAEW site has disappeared and he's been removed from AEW's roster page.
  7. Just to jump back about a billion pages... I know this post was replying directly to one that said "Working Class Hero MJF", but on the topic of how MJF's rich kid gimmick doesn't line up with him wanting to be paid more: no one ever said MJF doesn't have two nickels to rub together. The news, and his promo to an extent, sounded like he was mostly upset with other wrestlers being paid more than him. That sort of does fit with his character. Like it's not that he really needs the money, he's just upset that he's not being recognized as the best. If the goal is to keep MJF a heel, and I think it is, it'd be real easy for him to lose everyone's sympathy by saying something like "Can you believe Tony's only paying me a paltry $500,000 a year! I should be making millions!"
  8. I initially thought MJF would be beating ex-WWE wrestlers to prove that he's better than them. When I think about it some more, though, I'm not exactly sure who that would be. Ex-WWE guys, who are faces in this company (because I agree MJF is still a heel), who can have matches (so probably not Wight or Henry), and who aren't currently tied up in their own angles (so probably not Christian). Punk apparently came out to chase off MJF, and he fits all of the above, but putting MJF in a world title program right after he lost his last ppv match and pretty much just got through a feud with Punk doesn't seem like the move.
  9. Hi, I just wanted to say that: - I've been to Portland. Tried to go to a Voodoo Donuts, saw the size of the lineup and was like "Nope". - I like the orange background on those match graphics. - Was not expecting Hikuleo! (I know he's been on Dynamite before)
  10. And next time Rancid shows up, they could play Time Bomb.
  11. Lol thank you. Expecting 20 variations of "Loved the show, how did you think it went?"
  12. Imo MJF is great both on the mic and in the ring. If this is the end of his time in AEW, it's not ideal, but their roster is so deep right now that there's no one person who could seriously hurt them in my eyes by leaving. We are very far from the tipping point where I stop seeing Dynamite as must-watch every week.
  13. It's so strange to me that MJF would be turning in some of the best work of his career when he was that unhappy with his situation. How many wrestlers in that spot would just go out there and dog it? But he never did. It's like the unhappier he was, the better he performed.
  14. I believe we're up to 13 matches on this show. Tony, if you're reading, I promise no one will complain if a few of them go under 10 minutes.
  15. Dreaming of a William Regal vs. Daniel Garcia match that I know will not ever happen.
  16. Also Joe-Cole in the finals frees up Kyle to let you do Bucks & ReDRagon vs. Hardys, Darby & Sting at the ppv, which is what that final segment suggested to me. I'm not certain that's what they'll do, but clearly it's an option.
  17. Imagine complaining to your boss that some of your co-workers are unsafe and your boss' response is to tell all your co-workers about your complaint.
  18. I mean, the jokers didn't have to qualify either. Although that bugged me too, so I'm not arguing.
  19. Absolutely do not understand why you would continue Scorpio-Sammy and keep Scorpio a heel. Didn't Tony JUST SAY that he realized the fans weren't into Sammy and Tay?
  20. This has already pretty much been said, but I think it's more the fault of the booking than Page. Whenever he's actually been onscreen, he's always been at least good, often great. It's just that they go for very long stretches without anyone mentioning him.
  21. This was on a play where Siakam elbowed Embiid in the face with the Sixers up by 29 with under 4 minutes left in the game. (Kind of a wild sequence of events - it was originally called a foul on Embiid, referees reviewed it themselves and upheld their call, then Doc Rivers challenged the call, they reviewed it AGAIN and then reversed it to an offensive foul. Again, all with the game already decided at that point.)
  22. #89 took me 153 guesses, which is pretty good for me. #90 took me 341 guesses.
  23. At least three of those names aren't even on Cagematch... which I guess just means they never made it to WWE tv.
  24. Add Dexter Lumis to the list
  25. Back on the wrestling crossword grind after a couple months off.
