  1. That Table 3 was just awful. 3 guys trying to come up with the biggest lie possible. Or every pro-wrestling shoot ever.
  2. That already happens though in terms of threatening them into doing it (see: every burial of guys who were being cheered that shouldn't have been). You're just adding an element of appealing to their own self-interest (and to some extent, adding extra heat onto tired babyface comeback spots). If people didn't want to see Reigns/Cena/Ambrose et al *that much* they wouldn't be at the show in the first place. I just want to watch the world burn as a result of a main event ending in 2 minutes with a 3 arm drops on a rest hold finish.
  3. Hypothetical for you. If the WWE started incorporating the idea into their psychology that without the fans cheering the #1 babyface all the way and with as much enthusiasm as possible, he lacks the necessary fighting spirit to put up a worthwhile showing against the heel that's otherwise being cheered, and the match ends super early, with the finish being built around the crowd's inability to rally the babyface to come back. Seems a logical if not exaggerated extension of their constant references to the WWE Universe, and a way to curb smart fans booing Roman Reigns out the building if they know they're going to get tremendously short changed on their ticket if the main event goes < 5 minutes. Ridiculous in this day and age?
  4. Sad, but ultimately pro wrestling. The way she spoke about it was just inanely creepy, just glossing over it, "you move on", sounding more devastated by her tax bill from the 90s. Actually that kinda creeped me out the most - about how she was homeless, living on the streets, in debt to the IRS for hundreds of thousands of dollars, Vince pays it off for her, and then she fucks him over 18 months later because "he made her angry". Oh and the adoption story - weirdly one sided. How do you get a kid to come and live with you, and then the courts decide not long after that maybe not the best idea. I get that the biological parents will always have better sway in such a hearing, but just didn't seem right.
  5. Have this awful feeling that next week they go the route of Sami getting the win on Bing Streisand with huge assists from Reigns and Rollins. All the focus goes away from Sami onto Roman and Rollins instead. No-one cares.
  6. Yep, that happened, but rather the quality of TV around that time. Admittedly that's still probably the best example because so much shit happened at the time with face/heel changes and anything was better than the Invasion, so was still worth watching.
  7. Someone made a similar point before in the PPV thread. But have WWE ever delivered a solid December set of programming and not just done autopilot? Racking my brain here...
  8. Based on that backstage segment at Tribute to the Troops, have the Shield vs New Day vs Wyatts vs the Club. Gives AJ a match of some note, avoids unnecessary high profile Reigns/Wyatt/Rollins/Orton matches. Blow off Rollins/HHH at the Rumble/delay it till Summerslam. Torn between having Goldberg/Lesnar finish at Elimination Chamber and Lesnar winning with help from Braun Strowman, leading to Goldberg/Strowman and Lesnar/Shane, or just have Goldberg/Lesnar at Mania, and Strowman/Zayn instead. Cena/Taker Owens/Jericho Big Show/Shaq Charlotte/Bayley Becky/Nikki Andre Battle Royale Cruiserweight Clusterfucky Ladder Spotfest There's your 10 matches.
  9. I really hope it's Jericho winning the Rumble. Not just because it would pay for my trip to Mania, but a rehash of Triple H/Batista but with both guys clambering to be Triple H would be tremendous.
  10. Austin Aries was woeful on commentary too. Was looking forward to hearing him, but yeeesh.... Cliche > Put Self Over > Repeat
  11. I think it's Reigns, Cena, Edge, Benoit, Bret (his one day US title reign over Miz) and now Sheamus.
  12. Way more than 6 guys have won the Rumble, US title, World title and tag titles surely? Reigns, Cena, Edge, Benoit, and then if you count WCW history/tags - Luger, Bret, Flair and Austin
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Roadblock Finishing moves Dead End Drop (Falling powerslam)[9][10][11] Dead End Splash[2] (Rope aided Shooting star press into a splash)[12] I don't remember this....
  14. This ep of Legends with Madusa is slightly offputting. Madusa seems batshit crazy.
  15. I'd be cool with this leading to Mojo joining the Wyatts. They need a guy to eat the losses.
  16. I loved that Foley/Zayn promo. Best thing Foley's done in ten years. Brought the intensity. Made sense. Good stuff. Two great tag matches too. Great RAW.
  17. Should have done Rollins/Reigns vs. Jericho/Owens as the main event. Title on the line. Winner of the fall gets the title, their partner is #1 contender at the Rumble, losing team face off to determine who gets 1 and 30 respectively at the Rumble. Logical start of the Owens/Jericho program, makes Rollins a real threat at 30, and gives a good story of Reigns going in at #1 again. Instead two singles matches I couldn't care less about.
  18. Hard to follow that. Kinda glad if I never see another Joe/Nak match again. I don't think they gel well together at all. I kinda feel the same way about Nakamura in NXT that most do about Ambrose. Just replace Kinchasa with wacky rope clothesline, or "charismatic" with "lunatic" and it's the same guy who does the same sequence over and over again with a really forced down throat description. If you wanted to be really cynical, you'd have Asuka in a similar position or at best same criticisms with Lesnar/diminishing returns. Interested to see what they do with Patrick Clark. LWP's right, he has something. Loney is terrible though. Surely a release candidate. Probably say the same for Buddy Murphy. Tags up with the most over guy on the night in his hometown and barely gets a reaction. TM61 vs DIY probably a candidate for one of the best matches I've ever seen live. That was awesome to watch. Revival were great too. Possibly the closest thing I've ever seen to a heel hot tag segment and it was fantastic.
  19. Looking forward to more Ascension Viktor, Rezar and Aiden English.
  20. Speaking of Dillinger, I wonder if they could get him in as AJ's next title program. The NXT show I went to last night was ridiculous, 10 chants the entire show, which is probably more an indication of a need to chant anything rather than something, granted, but with a lack of viable options, I'd be inclined to strike while iron's relatively hot, give him a Patriot-esque title program and see what works, and if not, well, they get midcard babyface depth that they're sorely lacking afterwards. They've created the out storyline-wise in NXT, and I think it could help tell long term stories as well (Bryan pick Dillinger, then down the track attempts to get Joe to be his proxy to take on the Miz, but Joe turns on him because he called up Dillinger first. From there you can either do the redemption angle hinted at in NXT at the moment, Joe beats Miz and becomes an even bigger problem for Bryan, and Miz proves himself, etc etc)
  21. I hope this leads to a reenactment of Rocky V that no one asked for. Bryan as Rocky. Swagger can be Tommy Gunn.
  22. I'm assuming the lack of the Arrow trainees leads somewhere too.
