  1. I had the feeling Eva Marie couldn't be Faaaan Dannnnnn Goooo's dance partner because she didn't know how to say his name. It's not Fandango. It's Faaaan. Dannnn...Goooo. But then Faaaan Dannnn Goooo appeared on screen and referred to himself as Fandango. So either he doesn't know how to say his name either or wrestling is fake. Which is it you guys?
  2. No worries. Now that you're married you'll get lots of practice at whacking days.
  3. Really? Damn you must have lived a clean life.
  4. As to the draw discussion I found it interesting that the local indy here in the suburbs of Detroit that I call matches for got almost no bump from Hacksaw Jim Duggan but doubled the crowd when they brought in Carlito. They even raised ticket prices from 12 to 15 bucks for Carlito and people flocked to the show.
  5. Well that's how old Chris Pratt is. I'm not sure how old Andy Dwyer is supposed to be. Although a few seasons back when he was trying to determine if he could go out with April I think he said he was 29.
  6. I love Office Space through and through, but I agree with you on Idiocracy 100%. 45 minutes into that movie I was loving it and laughing my ass off. Then it just stalled out and flopped around for another hour and I ended up hating it. As to the worst movies, I hate to throw my wife under the bus here because I already did it in the Netflix thread, but she has the worst taste in movies. I mean I like some cheesy shit (Austin Powers was my favorite movie for a long time), but she has the taste of a 12 year old girl when it comes to movies. I got to see Crossroads AND From Justin To Kelly in the theater. Crossroads had a still super hot Britney Spears dancing around in her panties and short shorts for much of the film and it still had no redeeming qualities.
  7. She's 37 and he's 34. Is that a big enough age difference that it should be noted? I always got the impression that his character was a bit younger, but that was probably just because he acted like a kid while she was the responsible adult.
  8. They just announced season 2. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I've enjoyed it so far, but in a guilty pleasure sort of way. It's just good enough that I don't give up on it. Sort of like The Walking Dead. I was all in for a 13 episode mini series, but I think the premise will stretch really thin if it continues. We shall see.
  9. I love America's Test Kitchen because the main host guy is SUCH a condescending dick to all the other people on the show. But like, in a good way. Like a "eh, he's probably just joking...I think" way.
  10. I was going to watch "Orange.." the other day but when I put on Netflix I was like "Hmmm...New Girl..." and then I watched like 8 episodes in a row and I kinda love that show.
  11. So Victator is some sort of time traveling future version of The Natural? Awesome. Just kidding Vic, much love brah. Fuck You season six of Lost. You took so much that was good and ruined it forever. Ruiner.
  12. No she's just pregnant and has horrible taste in movies.
  13. Yep I probably spend more time searching for things to watch than I do watching things. I was driving my wife insane this past weekend trying to pick a movie so I told her to just pick something. We wound up watching "What to Expect When You're Expecting." Divorce papers forthcoming.
  14. As a kid my Mom and Uncle would constantly tell me it's fake and point out when a guy whiffed on a punch. I used to get infuriated and didn't believe them. Some of the kids at school would say it was fake too. There wasn't a real clear moment of realization for me that it wasn't on the up and up. I think it was just the combination of being told it was fake early on and then growing up and starting to notice things that wouldn't make sense in a real fight. When I was eight I believed it was real, by the time I was ten I had some serious doubts but would still say I thought it was real, by the time I was 11 or 12 I knew for sure.
  15. I saw the Hader commercial and I was wondering a bit about it. It seemed like it was something they'd usually just stick "unkown schlub #5" into. Then I saw another one with him in it. So apparently they have built their entire current ad campaign around him. Makes more sense now.
  16. I was wondering the same. He'll obviously draw in some of his old audience, but I wonder how it will all work? If it's some bizarre blend of sports and politics it seems like it would just turn everyone off.
  17. While I do think it's possible for one wrestler to carry another, it's too often used as a way to say "well I hate that wrestler, but I loved that match...so his opponent carried him to it". Bringing up Triple H in this topic just reeks of someone who hates him for his backstage behavior (or supposed backstage behavior) but who likes a lot of matches he's been in.
  18. I live about 10 minutes from the city and outside of the downtown area it's a terrifying dump. I don't think there is anything that can save it or turn it around and I don't think it's going to make a comeback anytime soon. It's a festering pile of shit mixed with some Beyond Thunderdome level blight. It's awful.
  19. Wait did they actually announce that this is the last season?
  20. If you want to watch recently released movies you have to do the discs. I love the streaming for the tv shows and documentaries and bizarre horror films and such, but if there is a mainstream movie you missed in the theater in the last few years it's probably not going to be streaming anytime soon. I have the 1 disc at a time deal and I probably get about 5 movies a month. I figure it's cheaper than most alternatives for renting movies, since ON Demand wants 6 bucks for the same movies.
  21. Under The Dome is cheesy and some of the acting is really bad...but I kind of love it.
  22. The need to have their predictions of riots come true is behind those "reports" of riots in Oakland. Someone spray painted something on a building and someone else broke out a window in a restaurant. HIDE YOUR CHILDREN, THESE CRAZY BLACK FOLK BE A RIOTIN' IN THE STREETS! The sad part is that you just know there are people out there who are actually sad that massive riots and race wars didn't break out, just so they could have further evidence for their racist beliefs.
  23. What bothers me in the aftermath of this (beyond the fact that I think a murderer walked away a free man) is the ongoing willful ignorance when it comes to race. "This isn't a racial case!" and "Race didn't play a part in this!" makes me feel like the people espousing such views are not connected to reality. In America race plays a role in everything. Also Zimmerman's brother droning on and on about how his brother sponsors black kids last night was getting under my skin. It was basically a "but I have black friends!" defense.
  24. In my (admittedly limited) dealings with Indy wrestlers I've picked up the idea that admitting you watch WWE or talking about wrestling "like a fan" makes you a mark. It's probably just easier to not watch or say you don't watch and act above it than it is to get razzed about being a mark for the business or whatever. I love wrestling, and some of the wrestlers I know personally I like a great deal as people, but it really and truely is a fucked up, weird, stupid business.
