  1. That Hall of Pain mode was a blast to play. Highly recommend this.
  2. Reading this thread made me catch the last two episode of John Oliver's show. Upon seeing them I literally thought to myself "Why the fuck am I just now watching this?!" This show is great! I remember it odd at first seeing Stewart on Daily Show. I first saw the MTV show he did and it took a couple years to get that out of my mind when watching him. I liked him though, especially for the time I was right in line with his way of thinking. But after seeing John Oliver, I'll miss Stewart but not that much.
  3. For those like me who wanted to check out shows from DDT/AJPW, etc., this recent thread should help out tremendously. God bless the internet. http://deathvalleydriver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3288-best-youtubedailymotion-et-al-accounts-for-wrestling/
  4. Yeah, I believe I was one of the guys asking about how to watch more from Japan in the Puro thread. Thanks so much for this, folks. I believe I know what I'm going to do when I get home.
  5. I never paid as much to Alicia due to Paige, but this episode made this statement very true. What I also love is that as gorgeous as she and Paige are, they're just a couple goofballs. It's that right combination of looks and personality that makes them worth watching. A spinoff show with them sounds gravy, I adore them both. That opening bit was hilarious. Started with a Renee cameo and it got so much better with the table spot. Loved the return of BRIIIEEE MOOOOOOODDDDDEEEEE!!!!!!! (with Paige), that was so awesome. I'm amazed how Brie had all that yet was sober as could be the next day. If she had a lot to drink that's impressive. Wade was pretty much Good Guy Wade, even when saying why he dumped her. It did feel real, and it was one of the better moments of the show. And I know it's said every week, but I really hope Nattie is off the show next season. She's pretty much Buzzkill Buzzkillington everytime she's on screen. She was less annoying this week, and considering the situation with her dad it's hard to hate on her. Spivey's appearance was a pleasant surprise. Have to chuckle thinking about Skinner in a Hawaiian shirt saving people. EDIT: Rev Ray, I can only imagine the creepy responses on the internet that pube talk bit spawned.
  6. Soooo...this season's been pretty damn great so far. Love how Archer really does care for AJ. The beatdown speech he gave this week was top-notch. I love this show. And for shits and giggles, one of my fucking favorite moments of the season:
  7. I eagerly await the day I meet him at a bar. For all the times it's happened I'd be pretty hammered if that happened. Around what time did he talk hip hop? That would be the only part I'd care to listen to.
  8. The only good thing about being out of a job is I have time to go through these movies on the DVR. One of the only positives out of this type of situation. But like Piranesi it's time to bring the DVR down a bit. Speaking of DVR, does anybody else record some of these and just keep them? I have a lot of the main kung fu flicks they put out at first and after watching them I couldn't bring myself to just delete them. I need to get a DVD recorder but in the meantime they sit there. If I can get through the stuff I haven't seen yet I might rewatch some of these. No way in hell do I want to get rid of for example Dirty Ho or the 36th Chamber trilogy for example.
  9. Off the top of my head there's this one. Seems like it does the job, and I've known people that were pretty happy with this. There's always the free trial to see if it's a good fit for you. http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/events/enu/2015/Q1/PPC/01_PDVD_B/index.jsp?affid=2581_1102_80_paidsearch-us_0_1&gclid=Cj0KEQiA6dGmBRC_3Mi-x_XywKsBEiQA1lcFP4pU55piQgWNCQzPOwCFaQd_3Mh4rRQZER7SiPkUbwEaAk-r8P8HAQ
  10. If they could somehow transfer Chloe Bennett to Agent Carter, I'd support the notion. Until then, that'd be a no for me.
  11. I like Taz's podcast. It's always nice when he apologizes for being an asshole back in the day, and the storytime stuff is good too. He kind of has a set schedule, but he does mini episodes sometimes in reaction to various events. He did one for the Rumble and SCSA's HHH podcast. Good listens. And Iron Shiek now >>>>>>>>>> drugged up Sheikie wanting to make Blair humble. As funny as that was, I almost feel bad for laughing because of what he was going through. All things considered it sounds like he's doing great so good for him.
  12. That would be great. I remember the matches folder on the older boards having tons of content. Would be cool to get it close to that level again.
  13. Considering what Rza has done so far with El Rey, it's only a matter of time before he gets involved. And bless Alberto. Within the same week he's on ROH and LU TV which is weird to think about. I can't say I've been a fan of his, but good for him to not only double dip into two US TV shows, but also be in AAA and consider fighting. WWE letting him go was the best thing to happen to him.
  14. Just when you think these sites can't get much lower they do that. It's a shame the ad campaign stopped because of those idiots. Would be nice if it got stopped before it escalated.
  15. I just want to say starting with rzombie's detailed post forward, this has been super beneficial to read. I agree, that post plus the revisions ones should be stickied. I've never really followed any wrestling in Japan, but I at least credit Meltzer with getting me informed on at least the top guys. But credit should go to GFW as well for making those who kind of know into wanting more. I understand that NJPW has their stuff on NJPW World, so no reason looking elsewhere for their stuff. For other promotions, is it fair game on Youtube/Dailymotion/elsewhere? From what I can tell if I wanted to see a recent event from AJPW or NOAH it's legally possible. If so, do they normally have full shows? I know these are noob-like questions. Just trying to get a feel for what I'm expecting if I do some searching when I get home. Oh, one last thing. Would/could they ever considering adding defunct promotions to NJPW World. Like WWE, what interest is there for them to buy the library for those not running and put it on there. It's copying off what WWE Network is doing, but as a mainly US wrestling fan I ask "Why not?"
  16. As fun as two hours would be, I'm a fan of one hour shows. It puts a priority on who/what to feature and if done right doesn't cram everything into one episode. I was really impressed by Angelico. Tall guy with some nifty moves made for a fun match. As much as I loved Drago/Aerostar I know there's more they can do. Was a lot of fun though. And Cage/Mundo was what it should have been. Loved the setup with the endless kicks only for that to be taken away with Cuerno's attack. It makes sense and I throoughly enjoyed the story being played out. It's always hard to pick this or NXT as my favorite weekly show, but it truly is worth everybody checking out. The added bonus is it's the one wrestling show my wife looks forward to. She's into everything which is always a plus. I'm really encouraged by the popularity it's getting. Can't go wrong with lines out the door to attend tapings and everybody wanting to see it. If only El Rey can get on more TV providers.
  17. Thank you, sir! Holy crap, Lana. It's not often a big guy is pretty much invinsible. I think I saw him smile, but I barely paid attention to that part. Seriously though, they look like a helluva couple.
  18. Depends on where you go. I'm on a Facebook group about good craft beer called League of Extraordinary Beer Drinkers. It's a fun group and to say the least this was the most talked about ad by leaps and bounds. As an avid craft beer drinker, I was loving the response from the group as well as responses from the breweries also. You have them doing parodies of it (Abita's one was greatness) and some are making pumpkin peach beers. What's the most damning thing though is AB owned Elysium has a pumpkin peach beer and they were livid over this. Fun discussions on there. If all they had was that cute dog commercial I'd say they did great. But that second one negated that instantly. Holy shit, the balls they have to attempt that. When I saw the Jeff Bridges ad I was delighted. Album has been downloaded and I can't wait to try it out. If not for being out of a job tomorrow I'd gladly donate some money. What I heard so far sounds tremendous.
  19. Seems this picture isn't up now. Any chance of reposting it?
  20. Diaz tested positive for marijuana. That's like saying the sky's blue. If this is his third time then might as well be three strikes and he's out. Silva's bust isn't necessarily surprising, but does hurt his status some. Maybe he took it because this fight was too soon for him. But the punished time off should ensure he has all the time he needs. Curious about how he'll be seen if he does come back.
  21. As far as NXT callups go, there's been: -Paige-Definitely not a bust. She's traded the belt with AJ and Nikki and is on Total Divas. -Rollins-Definitely not a bust. -Emma-After Santino's retirement not much happened. -Ascension-Wait and see but so far a bust. -Sandow-In FCW mainly, cup of coffee in NXT. In best role yet, but doesn't count as NXT for me. -Roman definitely doesn't count as he was only in FCW, but they're claiming him as an NXT guy. I'm blanking on others. Wow, I have to take back my earlier statement, there's been some great callups. I think that because they never trumpet that Rollins was in NXT people tend to forget he was there. As far as testing the waters, there was a good reaction to the tag match they had on Raw. Zayn and Neville really shone in that. And people reacted quite favorably to Charlotte/Sasha from Main Event. So there is cause for hope going forward.
  22. People are still using 'he's over in NXT' when comparing them to the main roster? Very few NXT call ups the last few years have been worth a shit. That's absolutely true, they've been a bust. But I'm hopeful with who they have now. As good as Neville is, Sami has the best chance. Bryan's long-term future is uncertain with his injuries, and Sami is the best babyface I've seen in years. Proof of that can be seen in the Cesaro matches from last year, and that's with a guy who's on the main roster. What can I say, I'm in the band.
  23. Well-said about the Cage match. I was hoping it would lead to something as well, but it didn't. I like Cage, but feel he shouldn't do anything close to a lucha move. He should do his take on a Brock-type style. It should be the smaller guy running circles around him, but once Cage grabs him that's it. For a champ like Prince Puma he could kick out of some power moves, but shouldn't be trading aerial moves with Cage.
  24. They wouldn't have to look far to see how to make Daniel serious yet still worth rooting for. Sami Zayn has been able to do that pretty well and he's still the most popular guy on NXT. It's worth trying, but an aggressive Daniel Bryan leading into WM could do wonders. It could happen after he gets screwed over at Fast Lane and it drives him nuts. They just have to find that right balance.
