2015 RING OF HONOR DISCUSSION THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
It's cool that was on in DC, but not sure why not Baltimore since that's where the iPPV is tonight. Speaking of the iPPV tonight, going with my wife and a friend of ours. Can only imagine what he's going to think of Dalton Castle. I'm looking forward to Castle the most, but the other matches sound like it could be good. -
HULK HOGAN DUMPSTER FIRE THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to Kevin Wilson's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
As far as ruining childhood and everything, I needn't worry about that. That was ruined once I found out about the steroids in the '90s. I've had quite a few years of accepting the fact that Hogan is not the good guy we all thought he was. Despite that I was willing to overlook it in certain moments, but never lost sight of how he really is. I'm not saying this to one-up anybody, just saying the blow has been extremely softened after knowing about his flaws for so long. The steroid trial plus the power play he did in WCW only cemented my opinions on him. Not sure when the racist part of him started to take shape, but can't say I'm surprised. Maybe it was un-wise to take Gawker to court. Fuck him for saying what he said, but if anybody's going to get it it's them. Choose your battles wisely, Hulk. Can't help but think with today's generation when I have kids I feel their heroes will show more transparency. With social media and everything today's stars know it's impossible to hide anything like this. Makes it easier to see who's a decent person and who has some serious flaws to them. With Hogan he didn't think this would get out, maybe that's due to an old mentality he's held onto. -
JULY 2015 WRESTLING DISCUSSION V.2.0
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I knew of what the show was going to be like, but reading that summary on Camp WWE holy shit. I could easily watch this. It's like a tame attempt at South Park, but you also get office politics in animated form. There's going to need to be a top-notch writer/voice actor for Vince to get across how realistic this is going to be. -
Considering half the stars of NXT were from the indies, maybe they just wanted them to have something familiar. [insert Yano picture}

Aw, fuck, I forgot I have to get back on Hardcore TV. I'm somewhere in March and really want to get on to the rest. I thought they were putting out more episodes, but it's not showing on the PS4. And for what it's worth I'm much more likely to see ECW than Raw or Nitro, mainly because I saw them already.

Trust me, as soon as I saw her I was hoping it'd be a quick cameo and that's it. But past that opening scene there's plenty of awesomeness to be had. Just...try to block her out somehow. Trust me, I can't stand her as much as you do (I think) Also, Raziel does make a good point. The D-list celebs I can put up with, but the product placement was ridiculous. From Universal to Nascar of all things it did get a bit much. But it comes with the territory, I guess. Ian said that a theatre release would ruin the charm of what it is with big budgets and everything. That's fine, but I hope they don't go damn overboard with the 4th one. It's one thing to think about it now, but watching it I was and still am forgiving about things like that. It was over-the-top and insanely fun.

I'm sure AJ had heat for the promo and who knows what else. Regarding the show she never wanted to be featured unless it was for showing the match. And I think the whole lawsuit situation doesn't help matters. I would imagine they were either told to rag on her a bit or actually feel that way. Also depends on if they knew she was leaving at that time.

Surprised there's no topic yet. Sharknado 3 is my favorite of the series by far. Not sure if it'll have enough legs to do a fourth one, but this was so fucking entertaining. It had: Feel like I'm forgetting things, but holy fuck was this tremendous!

ALL-ENCOMPASSING T-SHIRT AND MERCHANDISE THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to MORELOCK's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
These guys sure like finding ways for me to part with my money. -
Looking at Greggulator's recaps on womens matches from 2013, as much as like the other women on/from NXT I feel the most appreciation for Bayley. No matter what else would go around her, she's been seen as the conscience of NXT that holds it together. Her nerdy character could have died a death elsewhere, but the crowd loved her. The recap is around the time I jumped in on a regular basis to watch NXT so it's been a helluva ride seeing her evolve. She's still the same, but she not only got more aggressive but also earned the respect of everybody that faced her (save for Evil Emma and Dana). The progress sure seems the most organic and when she gets the title it's going to be really rewarding. Her fan following is so wonderful to see, and when she gets called up kids are going to love her. It might not be a Cena-type level, but it'll be very close. Regarding the whole ROH/Sinclair deal, if companies like Microsoft and AT&T got shot down from buying out competitive companies how would that not apply to WWE? WCW was different because they were done for and on sale anyway. But it's awfully suspect if they tried to buy out anything related to ROH.

Actor/Actress Passings That Don't Warrant A Thread
NikoBaltimore replied to Larry Rydell's topic in MOVIES & TV
I only know of George from Archer, so pardon my lack of knowledge about his other work. But it does explain why for the past season Woodhouse was missing. But he sure as hell did a great job as him. RIP, George. -
JULY 2015 WRESTLING DISCUSSION V.2.0
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Maybe he could do those once in a while type schedules. I wouldn't be safe to put him in a regular schedule. If he wrestled just on TV twice a month at most plus the PPV he might be alright. But I think that any chance of him as a champion are out of the question if he is to come back. -
JULY 2015 WRESTLING DISCUSSION V.2.0
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Iron Sheik is right, Virgil is a big-time jabroni. That takes a lot of guts to do a fundraiser for no good reason. But nevermind that shit, the Daniel Bryan comment pretty much confirms that's it for him. It's sad, but I was expecting it. But there's nothing to be ashamed of, he went further than many thought he'd have the chance to. I'm sure there's plenty of post-wrestling work he can do for them. -
Damn that picture is heart-breaking. I can't imagine what he was truly feeling Monday, but that picture sure says a lot.

JULY 2015 WRESTLING DISCUSSION V.2.0
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I've been begging for it since the July 4 show. Ambrose against Nakamura would be a license to print yen/dollar/all the monies. They'd out crazy each other with Nak winning and Dean being humbled by the experience. Then going forward Dean would adopt certain traits like the Bomaye (giggling picturing him saying that) And good for NJPW, they've been having a damn good year and it's great that they have companies here wanting to work with them. And hey, great for luchadors having insurance! That's a wonderful move and hopefully it works out for all. -
Moves that have never been done on The Big Show
NikoBaltimore replied to Swift's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Hmm...maybe. I remember Quack wrote a special movez issue of one of the Apter mags in the 90s that I read over and over. Now I have no idea what anything is called. That was Quackenbush's writing? I read that issue many times as well, never knew that. Would Last Ride count? I'm not talking if he's on the turnbuckle and 'Taker just grabbed his arms and did it (like at WMX7 against HHH) I mean the full motion from lifting to dropping him down. -
Tromataker, definitely saw you in the crowd shot. Also have to say it's cool as fuck that you've gone to the shows. It's neat to see the show and find out how it compared with your time there. And I'm so sorry for that extra Sexy Star match, wouldn't wish that shit on anybody. Taking Naimark's and Curt's views into account, I still think Pentagon is the baddest motherfucker in the land. That feud with Sexy was brutal to sit through, all her fault. Going past that I think they're doing a good job rehabbing him. I mean, if we were stuck on wrestler's past feuds we'd still be shitting on Cesaro's so-so 2014. Guys like Pentagon will make it through just fine. And as long as there's a season 2 (strongly believe there will be) I'm sure they'll keep him away from chumps like her. As far as the rest of the show, my wife adores Bengala(?) and the Dario segment was awesome. The face to face breaking down into an ass-kicking was fucking wonderful. I'll never get tired of Mil Muertes and everything surrounding him. That was so fucking great. Liked Vampiro accepting the challenge, cool segment. Also liked the music starting right when he chokeslams Pentagon as well as the end segment. Nice touch. And yay for more King Cuerno! I love that guy.

JULY 2015 ANIMATED GIF THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Aw, man. Now I want sleazy Johhny Curtis to come back instead of Fandango. That whole thing was tremendous and could stand a chance as a good mid-card act. -
Cristobal, I didn't catch that part. In that case that's a fucking awesome moment. I feel that when allowed to just be her Paige is a sweetheart and completely real. Speaking of real, Daniel is easily the realest guy in the room (bada boom!) If you told me years ago he'd be singing the Bellas theme and be down with his test being filmed I'd think you were fucking insane. But here he is doing that.
-
I don't think about it much, but everytime Kevin Dunn is brought up I think "Why is that piss stain not fired yet?" then proceed to hope for a situation where they have no choice but to let him go. He always seems like the worst offender, even with Vince being seen as out of touch.
-
That line was tremendous, and kudos to her for saying that shit with a straight face. The main problem I have with reality shows (especially this one) is I consider everything to be bullshit even if it might not be. Bret talking about Jim might have been real, but my mind instantly calls BS because of the nature of the show. And the girl who Paige met outside a store could very well have been a real meeting, but given the show I doubt that. It is possible the producers talked to her beforehand and set that up in a way. But it just sucks that these possible real moments are questioned when played out on the show. Now if the meeting with the fan was real, then that's awesome. But at worst it put a really positive light on Paige and who she is (pushup bra be damned)
-
Ooh, King Cuerno, you say? Damn I missed him, can't wait to see him back. Dario/Pentagon, Jr. in the same room? Unless I get a chance to watch it work (busy days here) I'll save it for the show tonight. Can't wait to see it.

JULY 2015 ANIMATED GIF THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
That Seth gif is even funnier if you have the "Gotta go fast" song from Sonic in your head. Or if you don't know that the Benny Hill theme will do as well. -
Why would you torture yourself like that, man? There's way too much great stuff on there to watch instead of this. Unless of course you're a masochist then that totally makes sense.

I'm a big fan of Sasha Banks, but am not inclined to rank her or anybody else. It's all subjective anyway. But I do predict two things: 1. She'll find a way into next year's March Madness. 2. She'll either win it all or come extremely close.
