What of note happened during the "Kip Frey era"? Being dead serious. I'm talking angles and matches wise. The Dangerous Alliance. it was basically the equivalent of WWE last year, with the SHIELD having amazing TV matches ever week, usually twice a week.

I like the Clara theory on a "crazy plot" level, but I think it's too messy. Of those, the least messy and the one with the least amount of cost in introducing or reintroducing things to new readers is the Master. I think I'd probably put "brand new character" up there as a huge possibility too though.

The "The Doctor Is not your Boyfriend" thing was absolutely a shot at the female fanbase. That they harped on it so much hurt the episode. I actually expected it to blow up more than it did.
