  1. That's been a WWE trope for over 35 years, but I think it's up to the Audience to stop holding them to that creative standard especially for this angle were you have people saying this is the best angle ever. You even have Jey on his Instagram reposting memes about him being nominated for an Emmy so it is cheap for they to go to something we see alot in WWE angles. The talent themselves are aware of the standards they are held at in this angle so you'd expect them to come up with something more creative than that.
  2. They've kept Roman strong and they've made it more common for people to have longer title reigns the past few years. I don't think people would have a problem at all about a title change or two before Mania. It more the Company's obsession with records a stats nowadays than anything. I said it at the time and I'll say it now, they'd have it much better it they hadn't combined the Universal and WWE title. There were talks of him dropping one belt before Mania which would have been cool for them to put a belt on Sami tonight but I think they don't want Roman to take a clean loss before Mania if that's where he finally is ending his run as Champion
  3. I thought he was being sarcastic. Unless Sami was leaving with the title, it was no way these people were leaving happy. The only positive thing to come out of that it's Jey didn't do his outright turn on Sami as most of us expected. They might as well played back the Montreal screwjob because this whole melodramatic call back stuff was going to be a letdown to the live crowd. I expect Cody to get clear Win off Roman without all this melodramatic bs. Don't get me wrong it's Lead to some once in a lifetime good stuff with this Bloodline but the audience praise of it has probably made it a standard for a great angle going forward. WrestleMania you most likely are getting Roman take a clean loss and that enough is simple enough and effective for Cody.
  4. & why you putting him up against either of the 2 most credible tough guys in the company of all people on the roster. I'm sure you can come up with a better money match for Brays second progam since returning.
  5. The only way I see Omega signing with WWE is if Punk coming back into AEW leads to him not wanting to re-sign.
  6. When Promos aired before Kurt Angles debut before Survivor Series proclaiming him to be the first Real Athlete , I looked at him as portraying a heel but apparently he was intended to be a Babyface coming in an Vince decided he be heel during the course of the match. I just now came to that realization days ago or am I wrong and he was always intended to come in as a heel. I think he would've have progressed as fast as a Babyface but I'm sure they would have been forced to anyway in that first year anyway
  7. When they Brought in Punk he Debuted on Rampage the second or 3rd week of the show, I thought they should've kept Punk almost exclusively on Rampage. The first several months Rampage was like first few weeks of WWE Main Event where they would feature a RAW or Smackdown Main Event to start the show, it was booked like a one hour Raw without a bunch of backstage segments. If they would have kept Danielson and or Punk almost exclusive to Rampage then I think they would have maintained strong numbers for that show. They still feature strong Main Events occasionally but I think people have given up on looking at it as anywhere close to even as Dynamite. The only way to build it back up is to have Punk only on that show if he comes back
  8. Just watched Wes Lee vs Dijak, it was off the chain. I don't see why Dijak isn't on the main roster in a position that fits him. I think Hunter has had as many misses as he's had successes as far as bringing new guys up or bringing guys back but I think Dijak has a better chance to get over without Vince around. Lee has delivered every time I've seen him even when he was in that tag team.
  9. Is anything on the last TakeOver worth checking out? I don't watch NXT but I usually watch the TakeOvers. The one in December really seemed like a waste of time.
  10. I don't doubt Shawn was a prick to him but it seems like they are okay with each other now but that's usually the case when your career is up much like Austin is with Hogan today. Austin has had Hogan on his Podcast and he speaks highly of him as he he never turned down any chances to work against him. Like we all hear about the professional competitiveness between Hunter and Rock but once Rock left for Hollywood those two seem as if they were always as close as anyone could be to Hunter without being a Kliq member
  11. That's how you can tell it's a different regime because they would've already begun to make sure Sami didn't overshadow Cody but maybe they are thinking after Montreal the fans will be ready to move towards Cody.
  12. Most of the time when they put the title on the line in those types of matches the Champ is usually dropping it. It would’ve been a cool way for Gunther to win the title but he just outlasted almost everyone at the Rumble its no need for him to run through some of the same people he eliminated from the Rumble. I think it makes him a much stronger champion defeating people one on one Rather than facing multiple guys even if he's going over all of them in the end
  13. I think both titles have been featured very prominent and equally as important to their respective brands. This current regime has made these titles seem more important than they've been in a while even though the US title has changed more times recently. Under the last regime, I doubt either of the secondary titles would be defended in an EC. It makes the US title seem like the big deal that has has been booked as lately. Both belts seem like the workrate titles of both shows
  14. Is this the most anticipated B PPV since Great Balls of Fire? Brock vs Joe itself was a dream match everyone wanted to see but the actual execution of the build up to the match exceeded my expectations especially for a PPV thar isn't one of the big 4. Plus Joe was built up strong enough where I thought it was possible he'd beat Brock. Sami vs Roman has a much longer build up going in. Plus of course this is his hometown. Montreal are always hot crowds for WWE PPV and now the have the Top babyface at the moment as the hometown guy in the Main Event. This feels like it's a big of a show as any of the other big 4 off this one match. Just like Joe vs Lesnar I could care less what else is announced.
  15. The Women's Rumble was really good towards the End. Raquel Rodriguez looked really strong. I don't watch the TV but I hear sees booked pretty strong.
  16. I thought the Men's Rumble match was really good because it didn't have too many of the same tropes we've been seeing for about a decade or so. If felt like mostly everyone was trying to win the Rumble instead of doing spots to try to make next year's Royal Rumble highlight reel. It felt closer to the earlier Rumbles. Gunther is really being booked like a Credible Hoss type between DX backing off from him Monday and last night. I'll watch the main event back tonight because I was sidetracked while I was watching last night but that post match was something in terms of heat. I'm sure Roman was eating it up. This heel run has been a hit but that's the first time he's gotten close to the same level of heat at the night after he beat Taker at that one Wrestlemania. Cody is still one of the top merch sellers right? I'm interested if Sami comes out with new merch would he outsell Cody now that they are both on the active rosters. If Cody wasn't selling the out this weekend maybe Hunter would consider going with Sami over Cody. I have no problem with Cody going over at Mania because it was probably they plan even if he never hurt but how do they plan to program him against Roman with it making sense storyline wise without neglecting the Sami dynamic and possibly getting Cody rejected in revolt
  17. The Lapsed Fan has an ongoing series covering the early part on Hogan coming in TNA with Bischoff. If you've listened to them for any significant period of time you know they've been dead set against doing episodes on TNA so I couldn't imagine how much someone had to pay for them to cover TNA. The episodes have been they entertaining and informative and I'm not nostalgic for TNA yet at all right now
  18. I watched the Sami Trail segment and it really delivered. Although I wonder what they originally had planned for Roman's Acknowledgement ceremony mainly because of who they would have had appeared with the 3 Generations of the Bloodline would have been better than the same legends we see come out on these Raw specials 2 to 3 times a year anyway. That segment was one of the best from the Bloodline not only because it was good but it helped add my interest in the Rumble. I don't expect Sami to win but just his interactions with the rest on the Bloodline got me hyped to see how it plays out. Also the fact that each of the Bloodline respectively have been booked strong so its going to be interesting to see how these guys are booked in the match itself. I'm ready for Roman to drop the title but part of me isn't because I'm sure we'll see much less of him after he drops the titles. It's a shame he didn't get this heel run before the pandemic era and before he reduced his schedule. I know he's broken down physically but imagine if he got to be like this 5 , 6 years before.
  19. I'm surprised Hunter never tried to get Mutoh in WWE atleast once like Liger. Liger was more of a fit for NXT so it makes sense plus Liger and Regal were friends and was the one who got him booked. Mutoh fit the main roster better but he was way broken down by the time Hunter would have gotten enough clout to get him to work over here
  20. Most of the modern era Royal Rumble matches are more about moments and most of them are so telegraphed in the past 10-15 years but that Rumble was probably one of my favorites of this era. It's one of the of this era I see myself going back and watching. Brock was so entertaining and sort of surreal seeing him out there so long and working his butt off and at the same time having fun too
  21. Shocking, soon I go to this board I see this thread and I thought I was seeing things wrong. I can't even process it right now. The Briscoes are probably more synonymous with ROH than Joe, Dragon and Homicide considering the are Day ones. I was just thinking earlier today about how they could've easily been apart of the Wyatts if they'd got signed when WWE wanted them. I remember seeing a clip of the Usos in FCW thinking they were Briscoe ripoffs. This is Sad and sudden man. They were pioneers on the indies
  22. So he's the Oprah of the World Wrestling Federation giving out Cars to the Audience lol
  23. Rude would need a whole gimmick chance because a Babyface Chippendale dancer would be too cartoonish for 80s WWF. The lady's would still love him but he'd have to ditch the hip swivel thing.
  24. If Amazon buys them ,Would Alexa be the Anonymous General Manager of RAW
  25. I have been saying this, I don't think it's likely anyway but it's amazing how many people entertain the thought. I like AEW and I think TK has been booking really well recently but As you stated, why would anyone want Wrestling to be monopolized again.
