I have rolled credits on Dawntrail, and my main takeaway is that it is incredibly uneven. Story wise, difficulty wise, everything.

I didn't get diagnosed until I was in my early 40's. For me, it was nice to have a doctor say, "No, you're not lazy, your brain just works differently." It also lets me look up non medicinal ways to work with my brain instead of against it.

Met a bunch of wrestlers. Probably the ones that shook me the most were Dusty Rhodes (I'm shaking Dusty's hand and almost crying) and Sean Waltman (he almost never hung out with fans). A lot of the young WCW and ECW guys were horny all the time, but some were halfway decent dudes. Ray Park was at Dragon*Con one year, right after playing Toad, and he was still kind of confused we all liked him

Oh wow, my brain saw Boris and said, "Wait, while you were deep into Dark Ambient and Noise there was a collab, right?" and found Merzbow (who has worked with Boris several times) on Spotify. Time to remember the early 00's today....

I saw a short trailer on Instagram, of all places, and is that the dude from the first XMen movie playing Sabretooth?

48 hour maintenance started this morning for FF XIV: Dawntrail, and people are saying you can already download and patch. I'll wait until tomorrow evening, just in case.

Read Uncanny Avengers, and it was pretty neat, really. I liked that Deadpool was way toned down for this. I think the only other post-Hellfire massacre book I need to read is the Nightcrawler one. Someday my library might even offer it.

The problem is that this came out about 5 years too late. It got stuck several times at every level, but Johnson wanted his movie so they kept pushing through.

Read the first volume of Cat + Gamer while waiting for Mom to get x-rays at the doctor (it's just arthritis, she's OK), and grinned the entire time. I love it, I need all of it.

All the jumping around didn't thrill, and I'm hoping there's more of a shooty rogue then whatever that was. The dialog felt... too slow and deliberate in places. Maybe the lip synching's not finished? I doubt this computer can run it, so I'll see what happens eventually.

5/5 to "Death's End" by Cixin Liu, translated by Ken Liu. WOW. This may be the best hard sci-fi I have ever read, because it remembers that humans are humans, in all our glory and horror and contradictions. I also have no idea how NetFlix is going to film this.

That is massively disappointing, ugly as fuck, and not worth a 10 year wait. Ye gods.

Well, they're changing the combat mechanics to be more like Mass Effect in Veilguard, so you kinda get your wish.

I feel like an idiot, but I cannot figure out how to open up campaigns past the prologue. I'm level 16, gotten all the rewards for each part.

The Dark Forest wasn't as good as the first book, and I'm not sure if it's the author or the different translator. I suspect a little of both. Still going to get the third one to see how it wraps up, and because the first translator is back.

Going through Steam for casual free to play stuff, and tried out Marvel Puzzle Quest. I'm definitely going to have to be careful playing it - not because of the gatcha money, but like I said to myself, "I'll just try a couple things" and then 2 1/2 hours had passed.

It's got an amazing soundtrack, in addition to DFA's comments about the gameplay. But it is grim as it gets at times.

The only reason I weaned myself off of them in 2018 was because I couldn't afford health insurance any more and couldn't spend 8+ hours away from Mom waiting in line at the free clinics. Now that I'm in the program with the local hospital system since my blood clot episode in October of 2022, I'm trying to get myself back together.
