Million billion stars to Mistborn, by Brandon Sanderson. This is my first re-read of the year. Now that I finally own The Final Empire trilogy in hard back, I'm re-reading it. Then, with any luck, I'll remember to ask my brother to let me borrow the four part sequel later on. I love the characters, I love Allomancy, I love the unanswered questions. I'll start the second book in the morning.

Stephanie and Hunter knew it all, they were the ones in charge of the internal investigations. -

There's also the fact they leaked to someone (see tweet) -
It is good and disturbing as hell.

WHAT??? WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Shit it's going to be at the theater right behind my house.

Bad Batch season 3 starts Feb 21. A nice spoiler at the very end of the trailer.

Yeah, I saw y'all were getting Tornado watches and stuff... that's my thing! Y'all do not need them! (stay safe!)

Cypress (the tortie) looking at Shao May, who's gone limp in the sunshine, like, "Do you not have one shred of dignity?"

4/5 stars to Once and Future, vol 5, by Kieron Gillen. The mad lad did it - he stuck the landing in a way that made sense without an extreme amount of Dues Ex Machinas. And we even (finally!) got the reason why most of the Arthur's look like... that. At some point I will definite want to go back and read them all the way through in a much shorter timeline, just to see what I forgot.

Read Clariel by Garth Nix. It's a short prequel to the other Abhorsen books. It wasn't bad, but it's too short and just kinda ends as things get interesting.

Giving Divinity II: Developer's Edition a spin. An old Larian Studio (did they make anything else? /s) hit. Apparently I'll turn into a dragon at some point? Controls are nice, and plays smoothly on this older machine.

Ugh, ran into a game breaking bug with Seraphim twice and I'm done. Uninstalled. I've got to get caught up with FF XIV anyways...

By this weekend part of South Carolina will be flirting with single digit lows. I'll be in the low teens. This will suck.

They'll get their wish of watching players playing on an unheated surface that will feel like concrete and badly injure someone

Got the the point where I remembered all the usual Sacred stuff (always buy undead killing potions, do not consume the skill things or they never recharge) and oof, they did not balance a ranged character well at all. Time to roll up with a Seraphim and try again.

Finished up the Assassin's Creed: Dynasty manga and it's really, surprisingly good. Five volumes, moves along at a good pace, and there's a lot of neat information about ancient Chinese history tucked into it.

The World We Make by N. K. Jemisin is not her best work, but it's still light years beyond the usual run of the mill stuff. She explains what happened (COVID, editing, reality being way too fucking real) and I get it. There's definitely a couple points where you go, "Ah, yeah, this should've been explained already, and probably was in the first go." But definitely worth it if you read The City We Became.

Also buried in that article is a confirmation that they're beginning to work on Ahsoka season 2. I will need more info on this movie before I get excited about it. (she says, lying like a liar)

Oh, there's a version without that? Thanks, I will go find me a rental of it.

FanFest means we got all the Dawntrail stuff. First, the other new class if the FF6 inspired Pictomancer: The new race is female Hrothgars: And here's the extended teaser trailer for the expansion: Now to start saving up for a new computer... -
So we can see Firestar and Iceman when?

To start out the new year, I'm playing a game from 2004 - Sacred (Gold version). It's still very pretty, and very dumb, and very fun.

There are some good ones out there, and some rare ones that don't exist outside of a janky VHS copy in the basement somewhere.

Still playing a lot of Lord of the Rings: Online - Nostalgia is strong, sure, but this is also a very good MMO that you can play mostly solo and without subscribing at all. I've still got a sub to Final Fantasy XIV, and have started to think, "Oh I should log in that alt over there and work on her a bit." A couple of silly Match 3/Match Mahjong games to pass the time. My computer is pretty much at the end of it's life cycle; I can't play anything from about 2020 onward, unless it's a real simple one. Which is not bad, per se, but there's a bunch of things I've been thinking about playing that I can't. We'll see what Mom and Dad's taxes look like this year, maybe there's some room in the budget for an upgrade.
