  1. i'll reserve judgment until all the details are out, but coming back with a reduced-roster PPV and following it up with a paid subscription weekly show is a tough sell to me. or maybe removing all your content from youtube just rubs me the wrong way....
  2. thank you for this, @Dolfan in NYC. My sympathies for what this pandemic has brought to your family and friends. I know your writings have brought me joy, memories, and reflection. I hope this thread lives on, with March Madness and the Sleaze Thread, amongst others, as a legacy of this board. And come what may, i appreciate what you've done here.
  3. while i don't really collect the Limited/Collector's Edition of games or systems, i agree that the 360/PS3 gen probably had the coolest of that sort of thing. the Star Wars 360 is probably my favorite version of the system, and i'm having a hard time thinking of a better LE system in general. all that said, i just can't go digital-only for games. Maybe it's the collector in me or maybe it's just that once i start going digital i feel like my stacks of cartridges and disc cases start looking like a real poor use of space. And i'm just not ready to confront that sort of thinking yet.
  4. The Wii eshop closed 1/30/19. As it stands today (i just logged on to check), the Wii-U VC is still alive, but beware that the selection for the Wii-U was severely less than what was available on the Wii. Also, there's no telling when it will close down too. That being said, there's still plenty of good games on there.
  5. ok, i'm definitely in for an open world Pokemon game. It better have Raticate in there.
  6. the nation of Mongrovia mourns. RIP Jocephus/Question Mark/Joseph Hudson. was surely a bright spot on the NWA revival.
  7. they should use Wight's WCW theme song......oh wait. he never had one. that still kinda freaks me out. he was there for multiple years, on TV damn near weekly, and never had his own theme song. kudos to whoever brought up the green name on screen tho, i forgot about that!
  8. this makes sense. Either it was explained poorly or I misunderstood the premise. I'd believe either. or both. this perspective helps quite a bit. thank you.
  9. so, i thought Future State was just a 2 month "event", but now i see there's a number of ongoings happening. this really feels like the New52 launch, but with even less clarity. what's "real"? what's "canon"? what connects? i haven't read any FS titles, so correct me if i'm wrong, but even the limited FS titles weren't all set in the same time? so it's a bunch of minis that either lead somewhere or don't, that may or may not connect to other minis/ongoings, that may or may not replace the standard series, and that may or may not mean anything. either do another relaunch, or don't. but this half-assed shit just seems like a mess.
  10. mucho gracias! i was sure my request got buried under the ton of conversation since. MLW is #1 on my list, as i don't know anything about it. very much looking forward to it. will probably browse some XPW results and catch what seems interesting. i'm torn on watching TNA, but Raven/Sabu sounds mighty fun....
  11. i'm hyped for UFC 259. but i thought March 6th was this Saturday, so now i have to wait a whole nother week. totally my fault for reading the calendar wrong, but still.
  12. thanks a lot, @Mister TV. now i am lamenting that we never saw Bo Jackson in the pro wrestling world.
  13. yeah, my thought process was if they both won this month, we'd be looking at them matched up next. doesn't even matter now anyway.
  14. brutal KO uppercut by Lewis. i don't fault him for the 2 followup shots. Hit until the referee stops it. i also don't fault Herb Dean. shit happens in a fight. glad Blaydes is OK. i was sure we were looking at a Blaydes/Rozenstruik #1 contenders match. guess this scratches that.
  15. seconding the motion controls. Typical Nintendo "we need to integrate our new design no matter what". Not allowing this to be played with a Pro Controller is a sin. my biggest gripe was that there is your "home" in Skyloft (a city in the clouds), where the story progresses through NPC interactions and whatever. Then there are 3 places on the ground. You replay each of these areas three times, making the game pretty repetitive. The first time was neat, the second time was whatever, but by the third time it was just an eyeroll. Sure, you've gained a few new tools, so there's alternate paths, but it's still the same area. You fight the secondary boss, the Imprisoned, a number of times and it's essentially the same fight each time. It just becomes less interesting the longer you play. I say this as someone who enjoyed the game overall. I wouldn't say it's a "bad" game, but it certainly doesn't live up to its Legend of Zelda predecessors.
  16. ok, 1995 Hulk Hogan in a cinematic "Dungeon of Doom" match would be the EXACT level of stupid corniness that i would have loved, both then and now. It's the Hogan-Kevin Sullivan feud ender we never got.
  17. i like DKC, never played 2 or 3, and loved DKC Returns and, to a lesser extent, Tropical Freeze. interested on why you hate them. i'm not a fan of Splatoon. semi-interesting concept, but not really my kind of game. there was no Kid Icarus game for the GC. maybe you're thinking of the 3ds release? Zelda is my favorite franchise, ever. I haven't played Wind Waker because i can't stand the graphic design of the whole thing. Skyward Sword started off OK but got tedious quickly. too much backtracking and playing the same areas over again. Twilight Princess i initially hated because i got stuck as the wolf and couldn't figure out what to do. Put it aside for years. Once i returned to it (breaking my own code by reading a walkthrough) it was more enjoyable. Honestly i've been afraid to replay OOT (haven't touched it since i beat it back in '98 or whatever) because i'm sure it doesn't hold up whatsoever and i don't think i can deal with that kind of letdown. Give me top-down Zeldas or give me death. Zelda 2 is tough but fun, so it gets a pass.
  18. i feel like F-Zero could be popular on the switch. i'm not big on re-releases, but porting GX (from the Gamecube) and adding missing characters/tracks/music from even older games could be fairly straightforward and make enough $$ to justify its own existence.
  19. now i'm upset i never got an email.
  20. so i'm almost finished with my complete ECW watch/rewatch (currently in April 2000). been a fun trip so far. my question is, for the guys who don't end up in WWF, are there any feuds that carry over to other feds? i know XPW and CZW popped up around this time, but never watched any of either one. Anything essential featuring ECW talent? i guess my REAL question is, what do i watch next?
  21. does she? i assumed the tournament was to cover for the trip/quarantine period
  22. what if he faked a different board poster's death?
  23. triple threat match to make the numbers work?
  24. wait, what? the Masked Raider from Marvil #1000 hasn't been seen in over a year, but he's going to show up here? in a random issue of Defenders? if this is their endgame forthe new character, my interest drops to zero.
  25. please keep us updated. i have been tempted by this but haven't pulled the trigger
