  1. Brock v. Reigns HHH v. Ambrose Taker v. Rock Owens v. Zayn Wyatts v. Show/Ryback/Kane/??? New Day v. ???
  2. The Canes suddenly don't suck. Now don't get me wrong, "not sucking" means mediocre at best, but it's a pleasant change to see. The team finally figured out that minimizing the play of career AHLer Chris Terry, demoting first round bust Ryan Murphy and having midget shitbum Nathan Gerbe out of the lineup has solidified our defence and created some decent scoring lines. This team isn't going to challenge for a playoff spot, but it's nice to see someone besides Justin Faulk show up to play. I just hope we can get a good return for Eric Staal.
  3. In Volleyball you need a guy to set up and a guy to spike. Cemen is the yes man who sets up the ball for Trips to spike.
  4. I wonder what the Mendoza Line in wrestling is for a good career: never quite a jobber, but never really a main eventer. I mean, Ricky Morton hasn't had a big run in almost 25 years, but he still makes a living wrestling. Is he the bare minimum or is it someone like Tito?
  5. Haven't had a chance to watch Raw yet, but I just want to say that Cibernetico should never be allowed to talk about women. Never.
  6. You mean that it's okay for people to be casually racist about Asians under the guise of pointing out the racism of others?
  7. Why the hell have the Hurricanes turned into a fun team to watch over the last week? They went from a team that couldn't score 2 goals a game to a team that is suddenly scoring 5. We're hot trash, but dammit it's fun.
  8. My god the Canes goaltending is terrible. Ward is an AHL goalie and Lack seems to be worse. The defensive game they played against Dallas was airtight last night. They dominated the game and rallied back from being down 5-1 at the end of the second, only to have it wasted at the end by shitty goaltending. But there is a stat that bodes well for the team's future: Canes players were given a total of 15 points last night, 11 of those points were from players under the age of 23 or younger. The future is bright. Also: fucking Hurricanes.
  9. Thanks. A friend of mine just showed me GarageBand for my iPad. It has some preprogrammed drum loops in it, and I can buy an iRig to plug my bass and guitar into. I think it's going to work until after the beginning of the year when I can do a skill assessment and see how deep into learning recording I want to get. Right now I just want a setup where I can kind of plug in, tinker a bit and record with ease. What I'd really love is some sort of vocal trick that helps me stay on key and even record a few harmonies here and there. I don't mind fudging my lack of singing ability in the name of a tolerable song or two. Thanks for the input. If I decide to expand to more equipment your list is going to come in handy.
  10. Hey all, Back in my younger days I was a Guy in a Band. We were never good, but it was a nice way to spend time with friends and to be creative. Now with work and adult life getting in the way, I don't have a lot of time to get together with friends. Not to mention that the one group that I get together with is sort of dominated by someone who is a genuinely gifted musician and player, so it's not like a lot of my ideas get through to the surface. Because of this, I'm making it a priority to spend 2016 trying to be a bit more creative musically. I have no aspirations of playing gigs or actually forming a band. What I'd like to do is record some of the music and ideas that I have floating around in my head. Right now the things that I like (and routinely rip off) are Lou Barlow: William Onyeabor The Folk Implosion I'm not interested in pristine fidelity. I'm more interested in just creating some fun mp3s to share with nobody in particular on like a BandCamp page or something. But to do this, I'd like to just record this stuff by myself at home. Here's the gear I own/have access to: Fender Jazz bass MXR M80 Bass DI/Preamp Fender Pa'ina electric acoustic ukulele Fender Telecaster guitar Cheap acoustic guitar I can borrow guitar effects when needed, and a friend showed me a sight where I can buy drum loops for a dollar a piece. I have a four year-old PC that runs Windows 10 and an iPad. I guess I need recommendations for mics and what to use to record for a guy who has a mortgage and a wife who will yell at him for a lot more gear. Recommendations and links would be amazing.
  11. Batman with a gun. This is the sort of bullshit made for cynical people who think Die Hard is a Christmas movie.
  12. You're writing about her like she's Lisa Marie or something. Calm the fuck down, creeper.
  13. I read an article that said that contractually the Defenders series had to be shot by a certain time, thus pushing back a second season for Jessica Jones.
  14. We're talking about the one that aired this week. The title was "Brotherhood" or something like that. They did try to use a lot of symmetry in the cuts between the past and present.
  15. Interestingly enough, the director of tonight's episode as James Bamford. This was his first directing credit, but he's been a stuntman/stunt coordinator for years. He probably just innately knows how to shoot fight scenes well by now. I was actually coming here to comment on exactly that. That was damn near Daredevil quality last night with the fight scenes. Please, keep Bamford on to choreograph the fights if nothing else. Not just the fight scenes, but also some of the other scenes had a better pace than they'd had in the past. I like the camera swooping in on the scenes. It was a neat way to capture the kinetic energy of comics when their done right. Between Bamford and Lexi Alexander (director of Punisher: War Zone) handling an episode a while back, they've made some good choices this year.
  16. Tully Blanchard Geno Hernandez Rick Rude Bobby Eaton Manny Fernandez
  17. I kind of want to see Eva beat Asuka just for the meltdown that will follow.

  19. The fucking Hurricanes are terrible, terrible and no-good. The annoying part for me is that all of the fancy stats dorks love to say that the Canes are better than they are. The point out all of these advanced stats and call them an anamoly. They aren't an anomaly, they're garbage. It makes me doubt all of the puck possession/fancy stats guys. We have the Staal brothers, who are the smallest 6'4" players in the league. They hate going to the net, and they play with zero passion. We have Chris Terry and Nathan Gerbe, two guys who shouldn't be in the NHL and yet are playing in scoring roles while our best sniper, Jeff Skinner is relegated to playing on the third line with AHL-level talent. Our defense has some bright spots (Justin Faulk, Noah Hanifin's development) but also has Ron Hainsey slotted into too high of a role. Cam Ward is a shitty goalie. He has somehow managed to turn a cup run and one season where he was brilliant into a decade with the Canes. A decade in, two playoff appearances. The guy isn't NHL quality. I would like to believe in Eddie Lack, but I barely see him start enough to form an opinion. And the worst part is the coach, Bill Peters. I think the guy has implemented a good defensive system, but he's sacrificed what meager offense the team has. They play boring hockey and can barely score two goals a game. Seriously, fuck this team.
  20. She's out of the house for the next month. This is effectively a separation right now. I'm taking this month to get myself in order; seeing my therapist, attending S-Anon meetings and once I fully heal from the surgery I'm heading back into the gym. I've neglected myself for far too long over this. When she comes back we are going away for a week together (on a cruise that we'd planned way before this ever happened). It's going to be a time to be re-acquainted and to figure out if we can work through this. We're good together. Even after this whole thing came to light, we'd have days where we spent our time like any other married couple. Dinner, going to the movies, talking, goofing off. It's just her web of deceit that has fouled things up. Hopefully this next month can clear the air and get us both on the road to being healthy.
  21. Thanks everyone for the advice, good and bad. My first instinct is to leave her, but I also know that this is compulsive behavior that is not unlike an alcohol or drug addiction. I have to try to see this through. I'm just starting to take the steps to protect myself.
