  1. Watched Dynamite this afternoon and thought it was a pretty solid episode. Really, really enjoyed the Moxley/Swerve/Jay three way match. Tons of action and lots of brawling. Probably one of my favorite matches of the tournament! Danielson and Eddie was a really good match too and the Moxley vs. Eddie final on Saturday should be really, really wild. Interesting to have the ROH Tag Titles switched to the "Devil's Masked Men". I want to think that it could potentially be the Kingdom under the hood based on the piledriver move off the middle rope they used to win the title. I think the Devil could potentially be Adam Cole but honestly, who knows.
  2. Finally watched the match Matt assigned me last week. Genichiro Tenryu & Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Riki Choshu & Yoshiaki Yatsu (Feb. 5, 1987) Ok, so I'll start this off by saying that I've heard the names of Choshu and Yatsu but this may be the first match I've seen of either guy. A lot of the stuff I've seen from Japan is either recent NJPW (meaning in the last few years) or NOAH from the mid-2000s. I may have seen some AJPW four pillars stuff from the 90s at one point but it's been a while. Anyway, these guys waste ZERO time in going after each other. I can tell from the beginning that this will be a battle and did it ever turn out to be one. These four just hammered each other in the name of tag team glory. Each hit, slap, chop and kick meant something. Very little downtime in this one either with the only submission hold I remember being a standing leg lock in the corner. I really, really did enjoy this and I probably should watch a lot more classic Japan. Thanks for sending it my way Matt! AxB -- I'm about to head out for a get together with some friends tonight. I will get to your match this weekend.
  3. I see your Drexel vs. Kidd Bandit match and raise you the original Gringo Loco vs. Psycho Clown match from GCW in 2022: https://youtu.be/phAs-CIU4Lg?si=T6CwRKkRMnHhHR1m
  4. Hey @AxB ... any preferences on what you're looking for? I'm pretty much good with anything.
  5. I’ve been terribly busy this week and haven’t been able to get to the match Matt gifted me. I’ll try to get to it tomorrow night or Tuesday. Currently at a friends Christmas Eve party and staying overnight. Won’t be back home until tomorrow afternoon.
  6. MLW just announced Satoshi Kojima vs Sami Callihan for the TV taping portion of their Philly show on January 6
  7. This was tough because I really wanted to give you something to sink your teeth into. Last year I did a rewatch of all the 2010 TNA PPVs plus some of the Impact episodes. This match was at the top of my list and probably one of my favorite TNA matches ever. https://youtu.be/OAeFp-NSpIs?si=t-IEcD37zR0K9pkn And the link won't embed but it's the finale of the Motor City Machine Guns vs. Beer Money Best of 5 Series ... in a 2/3 Falls match from the August 9, 2010 episode of TNA Impact.
  8. Finally got around to watching the match Curt assigned me for round 2: Shinya Hashimoto vs. Genichiro Tenryu (1998 G1 Climax) Big beefy dudes just wailing away on each other without a care in the world is something I love watching in pro wrestling and this fit the bill. When I watched Kobashi vs. Sasaki for the first time a long time ago, I though it was the wildest thing ever. This may have eclipsed it though. From the beginning, these two pulled no punches and just laid into each other with chops. Then at one point Hashimoto had Tenryu in a head scissors and it looked like he was trying to pry his head off his shoulders. The brutality and violence continued until the end when Hashimoto pulls out the win with both men absolutely exhausted. What an absolute WAR!
  9. Ok, so for round 1 @Sammo~! assigned me the Onita vs Hayabusa Exploding Cage Match. I should preface this by saying that I'm horrible at match recaps/reviews so don't expect a novel from me on these matches but I'll do my best to recap my thoughts. Atsushi Onita vs. Hayabusa (Exploding Cage Match) (May 5, 1995) I looked this up and it's from the Onita Retirement Show in 1995. I have not watched much, if any, of FMW so this is all new to me. There was a lot of headlocks and just hanging out on the mat for a while and a few minutes into the match Hayabusa goes into the cage and things just explode everywhere!! That was crazy!! There's more stuff on the mat, more explosions and the referee looks like either a scientist or is wearing a hazmat suit. Not sure which. Anyway, 3:00 minute countdown hits and things start amping up because they're trying to finish each other off before the ring explodes. I don't know the right word for the situation ... anticipation or panic maybe? Anyway, Hayabusa hits the cage AS THE RING EXPLODES!! THAT EXPLOSION WAS WILD!! Was seriously not expecting that!! After the dust settles Onita, Hayabusa and another referee are all covered in more soot that Daniel Stern in Home Alone 2. Big powerbomb from Onita ends it. I was a little bored by the first bit with all the headlocks and rolling around on the mat but once things started ramping up this was a ton of fun! As for the match Curt assigned me in Round 2, I'll get to that this week after I get caught up on some other things!
  10. I'm really torn on this one then. I could go bizarre from the dying days of WCW or just something completely wacky from the Indies. However, I think in the spirit of the holiday season and the Secret Santo, I'll go wacky and holiday themed. Here is the Super Smash Brothers (Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) vs. The Well Oiled Machines (Pepper Parks and "Psycho" Mike Rollins) in a Tables, Ladders and Boxes match from Smash Wrestling: https://youtu.be/-SXfew1coFk?si=QGsOkvCSZVGMahOY Enjoy!
  11. What are you interested in Curt? Or are you game for just about anything?
  12. @Curt McGirt I’m good with independent stuff, WWF/E (plus anything on the Network), Impact, ROH, etc. Lucha and Japan stuff (as long as it’s in YouTube) is something that’s a bit of a blind spot for me. @Sammo~! I’ve been sick as hell the past few days with strep throat but starting to feel better so I will get to the match you sent me either tonight or tomorrow.
  13. I’m so confused because the email they sent last night has completely different pricing and a completely different launch date. And this press release says $219.99 A YEAR for the tier including the four PPVs and $95.99/year for the regular tier when the email Impact sent last night and said $95.99 a year for the tier with the PPVs and monthly option for the non PPV tier. Something ain’t mathing.
  14. Y'all I woke up this morning feeling ugh and got sicker as the day went on. I was coughing and my throat was really sore. I figured it was just a bad cold. My roommate/girlfriend insisted on taking me to urgent care today so I gave in. Good thing I went because I've got strep throat! UGH!! Luckily they prescribed me some antibiotics and just told me to stay home for a few days. Good thing is tomorrow is Friday so I can just chill out and watch wrestling all weekend!
  15. This one is really interesting to me. The Reds are already loaded with infielders so either someone is getting shipped off for pitching or some serious mix & match platooning will be going on next season.
  16. I’m going to finish the show this afternoon. I remember the Turner Classic Movies guy introducing Toni Storm then next thing I knew Jay Lethal was walking to the ring. That’s when I realized I needed sleep. I know nothing of what happened during the main event.
  17. Yeah, he said something about a back injury during his promo. Honestly had no idea he was still in the WWF that late into 1995.
  18. @Zimbra Here's one for you ... Jon Moxley fighting Ron Mathis in front of maybe a dozen people from sometime in 2010
  19. Perfect!! Thank you! I love these types of insane matches!
  20. About halfway through the December 1995 In Your House because it's the 2nd Bulldog vs. Bret match and it's a slog of a show to get through so far. The opener with Razor & Marty against Sid & Kid was fine and the hog pen match was entertaining. The whole segment with Lawler/Jarrett/Ahmed/Dean Douglas/Buddy Landell was weird. First the ring announcer messed up and announced Buddy Landell and everyone was confused. Then Lawler and Jarrett get in the ring and start filibustering followed by Dean Douglas who comes out to supposedly face Ahmed Johnson and then announces Buddy Landell as the opponent (who comes out to Flair's old WWF theme and gets quickly disposed of) and more chicanery with Lawler/Ahmed and Jarrett. Can't remember what else is on the card besides Bulldog vs. Bret because I went into this pretty much blind but I'll report back when I finish the show.
  21. I like the idea of Ilja beating Gunther for the IC belt. He beat him for the UK Title when that was a thing and I think they could tell the story that Ilja is the one dude on the roster that has Gunther's number. But I'm good with whatever they do with Gunther down the line as long as he gets to destroy people.
  22. Watched Collision yesterday and wow ... Danielson vs. Eddie was absolute thing of beauty! My favorite match of the tournament so far and probably my 2nd favorite match on Collision this year behind the FTR vs Bullet Club 2/3 Falls match.
  23. Not particularly! I’ve got access to Peacock/WWE, Impact Plus and ROH currently for streaming. Anything outside of that, as long as it’s on YouTube, I’m good! My favorite things on YouTube right now are old WWF house shows (like Philly, MSG, Boston, etc). Deathmatches are also fun! @Zimbra … I’ll dig through my personal playlists on YouTube and see what I can dig up on there that’s fun and interesting (and also cool).
  24. Not sure how I feel about this. Stability is needed in the bullpen but he could potentially be a fill-in option if Lodolo or Ashcraft aren’t ready for Opening Day. Also think the $26 million is a bit steep but I’m not an expert!
