  1. Yea that is what led to a lot of shit for Io since she was with Nosawa, for at least a few months anyway until Sugi confessed to doing it. Hell that is why we know Io's real name, from the reports about her being arrested, which normally wrestlers are a bit more hush-hush about. For some reason marijuana is a big no-no in Japan, just ask Arashi about that, so it was a much bigger deal than it may sound to Americans. So yea while sometimes I find blackballing silly, he actually deserved it. But was back a year later anyway.
  2. Yea but its misleading. One TD was defensive so that makes it 24 off the bat, one TD was just a garbage TD when the Jets D were in heavy prevent at the end of the game, and another was on a long pass scramble broken play that was more luck than skill. Not that I thought Roman should be fired based off the performance but the offense sputtered for most of the night and in Week 1.
  3. I don't actually think that was him in 2014 since it was a role others could have jumped into, but since it wasn't filmed we will never know for sure. I love cagematch and visit the site almost daily but I've found little mistakes here and there sometimes. But it is possible it was him, even though it was a weird match to have a one-off. It was definitely him however in NOAH during the summer of 2013. In his last match he severely injured his ankle, so he went on the shelf (I had trouble at first believing it was him so I had to buy the events just to make sure. Certainly was.). All I had heard since then was that after he healed up, he had a real job and just quietly left wrestling. So nothing concrete, I figured he wasn't blackballed anymore since he had that NOAH tour and had just decided to stop wrestling. Hope he is back for good since I am one of his biggest fans from back in the day.
  4. I don't own a Note 7, but what a situation. Most recalls I ignore, like my vehicle probably has eight recalls on it but I figure each one happened to just one person so I should be fine. But the phone catching fire seems to be a more frequent occurrence (still statistically very small of course), if I had one it would certainly be turned off. Makes you wonder how something like that gets through testing and mass production.
  5. I don't think there would be an advantage to doing that unless there was someone already on the Bills staff they wanted to test-drive as head coach, which I don't think there is. But unless they do better than 8-8 I don't see him back next year anyway. What does suck though is that those were the Bills two win-able games during the early portion of the season, not really looking forward to Arizona and NE being the next two.
  6. Yea, that's a bit of a problem. I know with a new owner they were trying to make a 'splash' and do a big playoff push by having a coach that was flashy and had been to the playoffs, but so far it hasn't meshed (the scheme and the players, or whatever else is going on). The lack of safety help in this game leads me to believe the scheme is a big part of the issue as I know from prior games that Gilmore is a quality CB.
  7. I don't blame Doug, the Bills have a good roster. No GM is perfect, every team has had that pick-up that later looks awful, but the Bills have the players to be better. I am not sure what exactly is missing but I wouldn't put the bulk of the blame on him. Maybe 15% but that isn't really fire-able.
  8. Now now, they weren't related. Tyrod was a runner so while I don't like him getting knocked in the head it was clean.
  9. The only team that can out-Bills the Bills are the Jets.
  10. Since its always fun looking at box office numbers, I'd love to know what Turner and Starz! paid. Obviously this is an extreme example but for movies on the bubble these TV deals could make or break them (clearly not the case with Star Wars). But I honestly don't know if they get paid 50 million or 500 million for these kind of deals (multi-movie rights). Only thing I could find was that it was for an 'estimated' 200 million. Its a hell of a coup for them though to lock in the rights for all the movies. They are wasting no time, here is the TNT schedule for next week showing the older movies:
  11. Since South Park now does season-long storylines I have started to take it like I do other shows like that, which is just accepting not every episode will be a home run since they have to take the time to tell more of a story. I am not sure if this is better or worse than the old style of each episode being standalone and often ridiculous, but I don't mind it. I thought the premiere definitely had some funny moments and the 'cliffhanger' will get me to watch next week for sure. Not that I wouldn't have anyway.
  12. So my brother really enjoys LU, he lives out of town so I wait to watch it until we can see it together. Anyway he was in town last weekend so we binge-watched all of Season 2 and the first episode of Season 3 in about 48 hours. Which I don't recommend but what can ya do. I didn't read the last 20 pages (I did read people's thoughts on the finale), but I think I enjoyed Season 1 more. But I saw Season 1 spread out which I do think helps, some of the matches and pairings can get a bit repetitive when you are watching 26 weeks of TV in two days. I think Mil is my favorite character, I like Pentagon of course but his story was so all over the place. Matanza going from "no one can hurt him" to "getting easily beaten around the ring" seemed too sudden, there wasn't a gradual progression from him beating guys like Puma in one move to looking like just another brawler with a really protected finisher. He is stupid strong though. Nothing really irked me about the season, aside from the Pentagon/Vampiro thing which I know I am not alone in. I did think too many of the big matches just became aimless brawls around the arena. Pentagon, Matanza, and Mil all fight that style, which is fine, but when too many of the matches are clumped together it just becomes a bit old. That is one reason I loved Mysterio/Puma so much, it felt like one of the few matches on the last three shows that was just two great wrestlers going at it without any props. Some of my issues admittedly are due to binge watching as I don't think that helps at all, luckily I am going to be seeing my brother about once a month through January so we will catch up in smaller bites this time. Interested in seeing where the main storyline is going, and if Puma is more involved this season, he took a real backseat this season as he wasn't in the main storyline. Hopefully he will be around a bit more for Season 3.
  13. They are just making room so they can over-pay for another former Bills free agent. I expect them to sign EJ for 50 mil this offseason.
  14. Boy people here really wouldn't like that I think Kyouna is currently better than Bito. I like Iwata a lot, she has been really impressive. I think there are a fair number of wrestlers that debuted in the last few years that I think have a really bright future if they keep improving and stick with it. I like Hashimoto of Sendai Girls' quite a bit as well, she brings something different to the table and is legit enough that I have no problem accepting she can already hang with wrestlers with a lot more experience than she has.
  15. I am also using current evidence as to my opinion of her wrestling ability, but really its a silly thing to get into a long debate about since its all hypothetical. I'll make a mental note and we can circle back around next summer.
  16. I think we all know how old she is, Google is very user friendly. About the same as Hiromi. If you have an example of a Joshi wrestler that improved into and peaked in their 30s I am all ears, the odds are heavily against her and I prefer to be realistic than expect something that rare.
  17. I feel fully confident in my opinion from watching Bito early in her career vs. watching Iwatani early in her career that at the age of 29, Bito will never be magically more athletic and more of a natural in the ring. If she suddenly reaches the talent level of Hojo/Iwatani/Shirai than I will happily admit I was wrong. But it won't happen. We can re-visit this in a year if I remember And Iwatani has been really good for years so I have no idea what you are talking about. And just to be clear, I am a fan of Bito and Stardom needs more main-event level natives so its not the same three natives wrestling each other all the time, I have just accepted her for what she is which is a sometimes stiff striker. She offers something different than the rest which I think is a good thing, not everyone needs to be a 'five star' wrestler to be successful.
  18. Pushing Bito makes complete sense and something I support, but fans just need to get used to the fact she doesn't have the speed/ability of Iwatani/Hojo/Shirai and never will. She offers something different than them as she is more strike based and has an aura, but she isn't going to blow the roof away like the other three. I like her, it may just take getting used to having someone in the main event picture with a different style/build since that isn't what Stardom has had since early 2015 in a native wrestler.
  19. That is three foreigners this year that had to leave mid-tour for Stardom, for various personal reasons. The ones I know more about seem to be for legit and completely unrelated reasons, but that is a higher-than-normal percentage for gaijin wrestling for Japanese promotions. Off the top of my head I can't think of any in another promotion this year, but I don't follow promotions like DG and DDT very well to say with certainty.
  20. Mel Gibson recently gave a long interview, and I don't have the link at the moment, where he said he didn't understand how movies were so expensive. But he doesn't typically use green screens, so he admitted that using them and adding stuff later may cost more than he realizes. I get the appeal of the green screen as it allows them to add whatever they want and change it later if they want, but it seems to really jack up the cost.
  21. I liked Mick showing he can still cut a promo when he isn't doing an overly scripted corporate back and forth. Not saying his part wasn't scripted but it came across more like 'him' then something someone else wrote. I also continue to think Jericho is great. So those were my positives from the show. I didn't buy the Sasha Banks "retirement" and I don't think the crowd did either.
  22. I think the Bills will be on their usual bubble, somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7. There are probably ten or so teams that I'd classify in that way, each year there are just a couple injuries or a couple close calls that decide which are the lucky few that make the playoffs. I like everyone else will be watching NE closely. This isn't like the Cassel year, I don't think NE is as complete a team now as they were then and I am not sure what will end up happening. If they go 1-3, its going to give them an uphill battle. But if they end up 2-2 or better I don't think it will matter in the long run, except cost them home field.
  23. It was a tough Week 1 match for a new coach. Vegas had pulled the line I am guessing due to too many people betting on Richmond, while the final score was a surprise I think a lot of people expected it to be a close game. I need to get up to Richmond to see a game this year, QB looks really solid.
  24. Not that I mind discussing things hypothetically, in fact I enjoy it, but if Bradford leads the Vikings to the playoffs then it will look like they made a smart move (since then their #1 pick would be in the mid-20s which has less value). I have no idea how likely that is but if he stays healthy all year and plays well it will change the discussion. I think its fair game to discuss Bradford up to this point and he has major injury concerns but too early to determine if this was a smart move by Minnesota. It was definitely desperate but there is a chance it pays off.
  25. Plus Richardson is probably done and Bradford is a current starter, he still has plenty of time to continue to be useful. If he is a starter for the next five or six years, even if he never really plays as well as his draft status would hope he still would have had a solid career.
