  1. Between shitty exploding barbed wire, poorly concealed collapsing ramps, or un-gimmicked pumpkins, AEW is definitely the fed that needs some sort of prop manager or FX guy.
  2. Pumpkins are gourds that have zero give. They'd have had to ripen it for days before Shida could break it with a knee strike. Abadon may as well have been wearing a batting helmet. Someone had been watching too many cartoons if they thought the pumpkin would just shatter into a million bits. I'm sure that plan looked good on paper. That won't be necessary.
  3. Ben Hur also clocks in at about three and a half hours. Spartacus felt like it lasted forever but it was about 3:15.
  4. Split decision win for Fury was bullshit. Nearly everyone just turned a blind eye to the illegal elbow.
  5. They'd probably just pay him to sit at home and not book him on any shows. WWE and AEW have the money to buy out his contract, but the question is do they really want to? Hammerstone is a big guy and big guys always find work in the WWE and I suppose their might be money in a Dynasty angle in AEW, but MJF is so far ahead of Holiday and Hammerstone right now in terms of prominence. MJF doesn't need a Dynasty reunion to help him get over. He's already over. If I were Hammerstone, I'd sit at home, keep training, continue to network, and then go work in Japan for a bit as soon as the contract expired.
  6. Your Foreign Features block on Sunday night / Monday morning will feature Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure and the Kaneto Shindo yurei classic, Kuroneko. Set your DVR's!
  7. TCM will be showing Cure on Sunday night / Monday morning @ 2:15 AM as a part of its Foreign Features programming. To this very day, that scene still freaks me out a little and I've watched Kairo dozens of times and know what to expect.
  8. You are wrong. OC Smith opening title track is awesome, but Shaft in Africa opening creds are by the mother fucking Four Tops.
  9. TMK there has only been one 3+ hour Marvel movie and that was Endgame clocking in at 3 hours and a minute. Most of them run two hours and some change which is the average length of the average Marty movie. Killers is nearly three and a half hours, but it's not crazy long like Lawrence of Arabia or The Ten Commandments or anything.
  10. Jesus Fuck, I almost forgot that movie existed. Way to pick the good shit, Exec! Also thrilled to see it is on the YouTubes so I can dial that joint up while I am on night duty on Saturday / Sunday.
  11. If there was ever a movie that needed an intermission it is that one. Three and a half hours is a long fucking time if you bought a large beverage to drink and have an old man's bladder.
  12. He also plays the evil kinda undead wizard, Xusia, in the beyond campy sandals & sorcery epic, The Sword & The Sorcerer. Basically if the movie needed a big scary guy and it was made in the 80's or 90's, Richard Moll played that guy. RIP Father Esteban. Wait a sec... Anyway.. In addition to being a gnarly horror movie, Evilspeak may be the greatest anti-bullying PSA ever made and it's Halloween so it's the best season to right an old wrong and check it out.
  13. Fuck. I will only watch this if Sienna Shaw battles Art the Clown while in Santa's elf cosplay.
  14. It must be close to Halloween if they are booking Abadon again. Poor Anna Jay. The Living Dead Girl still has her number. Ortiz / Santana was a decent grudge match. That finisher was showing signs of Psycho Driver but turned into kind of a Blue Thunder Bomb at the end, thank God. I like the booking for Fletcher / Take-soup. Let the young lions fight it out and get that Alpha Male shit out of their system and then the evil guidance of Callis comes in to take command and calm things down. If this is just the groundwork for Fletcher going baby, I hope that Mark Davis also turns baby. I'd hate to see Aussie Open break up.
  15. Some things should not have to be fixed. They should be right on the first power up. This is one of those things and at least they fixed it quickly rather than wait a month or so for a gigantic update..
  16. Saloum is fucking awesome and currently available on Shudder. If you have a Samsung or Vizio, WatchFree+ just recently added a channel called Scares by Shudder. So far they are just replaying some of the older films the in the Shudder / AMC+ OnDemand queue like Host, Atterados, and previous seasons of Creepshow, but I am hopeful they will eventually work Saloum and more recent movies into the schedule. As for really good Turkish horror movies on the level of Baskin (which is also fucking awesome), I'd recommend the Dabbe franchise (espeecially The Possession and Curse of the Jinn), Semur, and the Siccin franchise. As you probably noticed, most Turkish horror films are of the supernatural good vs. evil persuasion and are mostly just another avenue for Islamic education, but it is cool to see how the Turkish horror film industry incorporates religion into their content without being terribly heavy handed about it. It reminds me a lot of how the Indonesian horror film industry works. It is almost comical how Turkish and Indonesian horror films have just as many tropes as anywhere else. Any character that is not a totally devout Muslim or is too Western in their thinking and attitude is sure to die horribly or get possessed and become the plaything of evil forces.
  17. I thought that pestering Helena Chambers, TerraBrew employee, would get old. It has not. Now I believe there should be an activity where you get to go to another planet where the TerraBrew corporate headquarters is to get a refund after you complain to the New Atlantis store manager about her poor customer service.
  18. Guilty as charged. I had to return to the Den anyway to tell the fascist bartender that I found good spots in New Atlantis for his Space Nazi propaganda. I have played enough Legacy of Kain games to know that doing something to promote a guy named Vae Victis was probably a bad idea, but creds are creds and I am trying to bankroll this Stroud-Eklund Class-C that I want to build from scratch. I have already put up posters in support of the forces of good. Time to put them up in support of the forces of evil, I guess. As for the ship tech, I have played enough Mass Effect to know that any guy named Conrad probably deserves to die.
  19. Instead of just putting the unlucky boots in the crate as instructed, I sold them to some pushy, rude tech for 500 creds just to be a jerk. He was a bit of an asshole and I just expected the guy to trip over his own shoelaces and faceplant or something. I did not realize I was signing the tech's death warrant. Oh, well. At least Antonio is happy that the cursed footwear is gone.... FOR NOW~!!! HEHEHEHEAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!
  20. There have been a lot of good horror movies coming out in the past ten years from places you wouldn't normally expect them from like India and Middle Eastern countries like Jordan and Qatar. I have been paying more attention to that scene since Under the Shadow, came out in 2018.
  21. The current conspiracy floating around is that Mary Jane is a self-insert of one of the Insomniac writers for the game.
  22. I actually saw Tumbbad in the theaters as RVA has a surprisingly high Indian / Pakistani population and quite a few of the theaters in midtown regularly show the latest Hindi-language joints. I thought it was rather refreshing that a movie came out that simply focused on a cardinal sin like greed without adding needless complexity.
  23. The game has a Universal Acclaim rating from Metacritic, but Milo Morales, a Puerto Rican, has a Cuban flag hanging in his house. What the fuck, dudes?
  24. What is the over / under for Randi returning as a heel? They will need to reinforce the ring when the Tongas feud with Reina del Rey / Wrecking Ball.
