    Saw IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK last night. Thought it was better than MOONLIGHT. A lot of amazing scenes, but the conversation between Fonny and Daniel (Atlanta’s Bryan Tyree Henry) was just hit wrenching.

    And here I thought I was Suwama’s biggest booster. I love the big lug, but I don’t think much is served by hot-potatoing the belt off of the far-and-away most popular wrestler in the company. If there is a NOAH/AJ feud, Suwama or Akiyama would be good choices for grumpy veterans who come in and kick the shit out of NOAH’s new generation. Maybe even have one of them take the belt off what’s his face.

    Sekimoto is defending the Z1 and BJP titles against Yuji Hino next month, in what is sure to be an extra beefy battle.

    Hard to get too excited about Strong BJ as AJP tag champs, given that this is now their third reign. Only interesting if this, and the scheduled All Asia tag titles match, is a precursor to something—maybe, at the very least, a few BJ guys in the CC. Okabayashi and Hama, if I had my druthers. Maybe this Nomura lad as well.

    How many contracted wrestlers does NJPW have? I realize that’s a bit up in the air right at this moment.

    That's nice. Won't shake up the cards, obviously, since he's been essentially full-time with AJPW for the last 18-24 months. However, him being official means there's less risk that one of their major players could just up and leave for NOAH at any time.
