  1. Melolove. Nickname so good it has to happen.
  2. I don't think the Hunger Games movies are very good but I think they're only enjoyable - especially the first one - because Jennifer Lawrence put them on her back and carried them. I don't think anyone else could do Katniss.
  3. I've spent more time with online Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown than any game since Sonic 2 back then, so maybe that? Street Fighter IV gets a lot of justified credit for bringing back fighters but I'm of the opinion this is best. 3000 online bouts roughly and I know my Jean Kujo and Pai Chan are both merely decent. Depth on top of depth.
  4. Yeah. He's been fairly awesome at times in his career but durability... Not so much. Between him and Dan Morgan (sorry to mention that name, CSC and Jen) it's been hard for star Panthers LBs in the league. Makes me nervous about Luke.
  5. Stop me if you've heard this one... Jon Beason hurt. Broken foot. At least 12 weeks. Poor Giants.
  6. This is extremely random, and I haven't been up on puro in many, many years. But I've been watching bits and pieces of NJPW and it's amazing that TNA had 12 years to make AJ Styles look like a boss and never really did and NJ has done it in a couple months.
  7. HALT AND CATCH FIRE. Go watch it, it's awesome and I want it to continue.
  8. I came here to post lolniners. Then I realized the precedent this sets for the imminent Cam Newton deal. And I cried and cried and cried.
  9. I very often walk into work doing the Razor entrance, the sideways hand deal like you're sliding in. Only one person has ever called me on it. He wound up a groomsman at my wedding.
  10. Cocaine is a helluva drug. Allegedly.
  11. So Bryan Cranston is being quoted that, long story short I actually greatly disapprove of more Breaking Bad, even though I loved it. These things never work out. Why can't anything ever be over? Do we really need Breaking Bad: Community Season 4 Edition? That said, I'd watch it.
  12. OK, there was a scene in the book that didn't make the movie and totally should have, but the correct answer, as it often is, is JURASSIC PARK. I also think American Psycho - which I love, as a big fan of Ellis - is great in both forms, but the movie is a far easier bit of entertainment than the novel. Don't know that I'd call it better, but I've read the novel precisely once and have seen the movie at least ten times.
  13. So I normally watch on my Roku, which has it's own issues but that's fine, using the generic Roku format means it can't do the "next segment" bit, lazy but fine. But I was trying to watch via laptop, and it plays AOK but there are no on screen controls. Using Chrome on 64bit Win7. Please advise, if you've seen the issue.
  14. I genuinely don't see it happening. The problem with the fragmented nature of entertainment is that it's much more difficult to create a household name. In the 80s, WWE had Hogan for sure, Andre the Giant, and perhaps Macho. In the 90s/early 2000s, Rock and Austin. Now? Nobody is even close to a household name. And they won't make one. It's not happening. Almost nothing is a household name because media isn't a unifying experience for the most part anymore, it's insular. If you don't put out something completely transcendent like a Breaking Bad, you won't have the unifying experience that was possible when your competition was a couple dozen cable channels. TL;DR version: wrestling will keep doing enough business to exist and might even get kind of hot from time to time, but the Monday Night Wars level of mainstream excitement is gone forever and ain't coming back. Prove me wrong, CM Punk. (He's the only one I could see pulling it off and he doesn't wanna work there anymore apparently)
  15. So if anything from the current charges turns out to be legitimate, the Panthers should cut bait with Greg Hardy ASAP. Ugly stuff. I'm all for people getting a chance to grow and redeem themselves or whatever, but they can let that process happen elsewhere. And the football side of things looks to be dreadful anyway this season, it won't make it so much worse. Release the Kraken, indeed.
  16. Has anyone ever dropped as far as Bridgewater for as dumb of reasons as him? "He's quiet, reserved... doesn't seem like the face of the franchise" Really? The kid can play. What else matters?
  17. YAY A FUCKING WIDE RECIEVER! YAY A HUGE WR! YAY HE'S NOT FROM CALIFORNIA! I'm gonna need Kelvin Benjamin to not be every WR the Panthers drafted in the first round ever. That means you, Keary Colbert. Eat a dick, Keary Colbert. Guardedly optimistic, and stoked we went WR. UPON FURTHER REVIEW! Keary Colbert was a second round pick. My point remains.
  18. I dunno dick about the beautiful game, but PES2014 is the freebie on PS+ so I'm giving it a whirl. Pretty fun thus far. I'm kinda hoping it helps me learn the game.
  19. Diseased asshole has diseased asshole, will soon be deceased asshole. (stolen from deadspin comments, still pretty great.) Um, super sad?
  20. It really is great. I kinda want someone to make a gif of Silver hitting Sterling with the Stunner. So if he acquiesces to the NBA's s desire for him to sell the team, does the new owner change the name? Even before this it was awfully tarnished. Many things have been the Clippers of (blank). TNA are the Clippers of wrestling organizations, for example.
  21. On the other hand, TMNT is nearly unanimously the bottom RT pick. So there's that. If it comes out better than it looks, that's gonna screw a lot of people. Myself included.
  22. BOX OFFICE X-Men: Days of Future Past (May 23) Guardians of the Galaxy (Aug 1) Transformers: Age of Extinction (Jun 27) How to Train Your Dragon 2 (Jun 13) Maleficent (May 30) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (May 2) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Aug 8) 22 Jump Street (Jun 13) Godzilla (May 16) A Million Ways To Die In The West (May 30) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Jul 11) Neighbors (May 9) The Expendables 3 (Aug 15) Jupiter Ascending (Jul 18) Edge of Tomorrow (Jun 6) RT The Giver (Aug 15) Guardians of the Galaxy (Aug 1) How to Train Your Dragon 2 (Jun 13) Maleficent (May 30) Lucy (Aug 8) 22 Jump Street (Jun 13) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Jul 11) Neighbors (May 9) Godzilla (May 16) Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (Aug 22) The Expendables 3 (Aug 15) Hercules (Jul 25) The Purge: Anarchy (Jul 18) A Million Ways To Die In The West (May 30) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Aug 8) TIEBREAKER: Edge of Tomorrow, $35 million. I like Tom Cruise, but isn't it enough already with this guy? Edited to move "Neighbors" down because on further review I don't feel that bullish about it.
  23. It's ironic, a lot of attitude era's ridiculousness was excused by the company as "mature, adult content." Meanwhile there is no era of the WWE that provides as many embarrassing, cringe worthy moments as 98-01.
  24. - Any of Ne-Yo's uptempo club songs: "Closer", "Beautiful Monster", "Let's Go" - I refuse to justify. He's really good at the genre. I hate his ballads though. - "Livin' On A Prayer" - Bon Jovi. The best terrible song ever. The key change is gorgeous. - "Take On Me" - aHa. The half time drum bit during "ILLLLLLL BE GOOOOOOOOOOOONE EVENTUALLYYYYYYYYYYYY" is beautiful and in general it's a fantastic song. - "Like A Prayer" - Madonna. - "Cum On Feel The Noize" - Quiet Riot. So, yeah.
  25. Watching a 93 Raw and just watched Scotty Steiner bust out a rather sloppy Steiner Screwdriver on a j-brone. They both looked terrified in that way that only enhancement talent facing the Steiners in that era could. The Steiners might be unprofessional dicks but they make for great TV.
