“When you’re trash, you don’t put it on somebody’s doorstep and ring the doorbell and expect them to be like HEEEEYYY!!!”

As for the single moment I was hooked…hmmm…I guess the closest thing was Luger. I was 1 of those younguns who was obsessed with him immediately and turned him face. That’s a stretch though. I didn’t stop and proclaim pieces of my heart until I grew up. You might even say I was an ungrateful child but that was part of it.

It was definitely the Sunshine Network at 2 AM. I used to try to stay up and watch it every weekend and I only made it once, for a recap show, but even it was better than the shit on Monday night at the time. It was 1999 I think, after WCW had finally ran me off for good and WWF was just the same old stuff. I was buying ppvs soon after and I went to the TV taping in Tallahassee.

I’ve talked about what added up to have “made” me over time many times. It’s still making. It’s not cooking as fast as it did when I was obsessed with this stuff but it is still cooking. Hopefully 1 day we’ll have the whole meal made. I can’t for sure remember what I very first watched. It goes to far back. What I do remember, I remember watching knowing what was going on already which means I had already been watching similar to how we watched cartoons for a long time before we started remembering what we watched. That what I first remember was whatever was on broadcast TV in 1989. All of the NWA/WCW TV, some regional TV that I don’t remember and 1 WWF TV show that I thought was stupid. WCTV 6, Fox 31 and Fox 49 (I forgot the local names of the Fox stations) were the channels. Then every now and then my uncle would record stuff from cable.

As for the Broncos, I feel bad for that OT out there busting his ass. He was genuinely dejected, not just football player mad. I don’t feel bad for Sean Payton though. I hate him lol! He’s topped himself every week so far. Losing to the Bears by 1 would top losing to the Dolphins by 50, complete with 70. Not really…but for meme’s sake I say it would because then the next week is HACKETT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McDaniels going for the FG was going to work by design. I’ll give him that. They just got beat on the last clutch play they had to make, the 3rd down stop. The rest of it was just the result of the little bit of football left that had to be played by a team whose spirit was broken. I’ve always liked ole Jimmy G but he is really freaking bad, overshadowed only by guys who are bad with the added drama of their erratic play (Wilson, the other Wilson etc). Those plays all night where he was hurried, a good quarterback could have hit passes on those plays. Guy were open. It would have had to happened fast, but it would have happened with any good…not even great…quarterback.

I know right…and cry about it. Don’t act like you’ll fight about it. That’s mean and nasty and coaches who do that just so happen to all vote a certain way in politics (seriously…wtf). Lee Corso’s brains are badder than Lou Holtz’s too.

Lou Holtz is awesome and the whole thing was a joke. Ryan Day looked like a bigger girl than Urban Meyer calling out a 90 year old man smh.

Killing is business and business is…sometimes. I don’t know if that was the case today against Deion but I certainly understand that it is the case sometimes. I respect that vs statpadding witch is a little different. So while we’re talking old Houston football, I actually knew the guy who tripped the Houston player who was returning a pick 6 against my Seminoles. His name was Dan Whitehurst. He was an All American who went pro out of FSU and coach Bill Peterson. Bobby Bowden, Joe Gibbs, and Bill Parcels were on the same staff IIRC. He only didn’t make a career out of it because he got into this little budding thing at the time called real estate and made more money doing that in the offseason. The Patriots offered him more money to sit atleast another year which was normal back then and because of 1 thing that he absolutely could not stand he declined and went into real estate full time. That thing was the simple fact that he could not stand sitting on the benches up there…he said they were just that cold lol! Anyway FSU seemed to be coming back vs Houston and the would be pick 6 happened. He just couldn’t help it and he tripped the guy as he whooshed by the FSU bench. After the game when Bill Peterson was asked about the play he said “I was actually thinking of doing the same thing.” When Bill Parcels was asked he said “I was glad to see that he was still paying attention to the game.” The guy he tripped said something equally hilarious but I don’t remember it enough to even paraphrase.

I didn’t even know Ole Miss and Bama were playing. Surely there was some Lane Kiffin trash talk this week when he had to know he was finally going to beat Nick Saban. It was just ignored for Deion’s trash talking, while the biggest slimeball turd does it every year and never delivers.

Clemson beat us up and down the field. Norvell deserves some credit for something that will sound crazy but it’s true. In football, especially in college, when 1 team dominates another year after year the dominating team always win 1 MORE TIME than they should before the other team finally breaks the streak. It took some serious voodoo but Norvel has kept that from happening twice now. Today against Clemson and when he beat LSU with similar voodoo on that blocked extra point. I know we hadn’t had a series with LSU but we’d had a series of primetime week 1 games where we got out asses kicked.

Wow I’ve never seen this. Dory was still pretty good at brawling in the old ECW matches I’ve seen. Also in rewatching all the Terry Funk promos lately, I’ve relearned that Dory is a GOAT stand behind the man talking going mhmm mhmm mhmm yep wrestler. Anybody can do that but only a few can do it so that the man talking looks even more badass, and he was one who could. I didn’t know this either but had finally tuned out by then. That’s so unWCW like, using an old veteran for what he’s worth while the veteran appreciates it. Sounds like something ECW would do!

I feel this way about Paul even though I don’t agree with everything he says. He’s like a 21st Century Abe Lincoln or something. If you don’t agree with him, all that means it that you might better listen anyway just to make sure you’re not wrong. Then if you’re still not wrong once you listened well then surely you still learned something in the middle and you just listened to 1 of the few people who won’t judge you for disagreeing. Jim Cornette is another one for me. He’s a little more of a turd about somebody disagreeing with him but him judging you is harmless since he doesn’t believe in…uh…judgement lol!

Bill O’Brien is an idiot. It was 3rd and inches and they had been getting those first downs running. So he pitches it backwards that last time. If you want to pitch it pitch it, but do a normal pitch, not that backwards junk on 3rd and inches. And if you want to pitch it pitch it to Eli Apple’s side since he’s possibly the worst defensive player that’s ever played more than a couple years.

So Cris Collinsworth likes the quarterback push play because each guy has a hand on a cheek he says

I’ve seen batted HMs backfire too. I don’t know what the answer is. I would probably just do or coach to do whatever came natural. Catch it if you think you got it, otherwise jump and swing like all hell. The conversion try was PI but Bountygate so I don’t want to hear it out of that crybaby’s mouth. Besides that though, it was only the call by rule, the rule which is made of glass at this point. I was just glad to see a clutch moment in a game not decided by a penalty that helped the offense. Also I’m not sure the pass before the HM was a catch but they gave it to them without even checking.
-
He had some picks when he started just throwing fuck its in the chuck it buck its, but nothing else was working so… And ROFL at Sean Payton whose trash talking was only overshadowed by Deion’s, cept Payton isn’t backing his up.
-
That’s his resting face. He’s doing a pretty good job. I know they’re calling basic crap because of him to start with but every time they try something different they screw up big time. It’s not anybody’s fault either except for the Cook fumble. It’s just plain not working.
-
Fields is good but he’s on a bad team. The team is so bad that they need to draft nothing but linemen for the next 3 years. Anybody else you draft, no matter how good they are, will get wasted. The Bears are always 1 of the worst teams, overshadowed only by the teams that are just as bad but have some other kind of drama off the field going on.
-
Too bad for him since he’s done a good job for a long time IMO. When he leaves they won’t be competitive ever again unless they commit to being better from the ground up similar to how Clemson and others did. I know he’s not everybody’s perfect little angel but in a world with Brian Kelly and Lane Kiffin Gundy doesn’t bother me at all.

That game was like watching a little kid play Tecmo Bowl after he’d gotten past the call the Hailmary every time phase, and finally tried to win a game however tedious it might have been. Get first downs within 3 or 4 tries doing the 3 plays you know how to run right and hope you can hang on until it’s over. Bama managed to do that, and probably would have done it had their opponent been able to resist the Hailmary.

How dumb was that pass??? I didn’t exactly think USF was going to tie that game but they dang sure weren’t going to tie it by throwing a duck into double coverage. The call was dumb almost any time, but this time was even dumber. They made 2 first downs that sequence. Had they even done that at all today??? They thought that the way to win that game was to quit doing what had just got them farther down the field than anything else did the whole day. Real good idea. I’m just a little mad about this because had USF won this game, I would have been redneck rich later on tonight. No I didn’t make a bet lol! I work at a nightclub whose business swings with the direction of the football season.

The Colorado St coach really isn’t doing anything Deion hasn’t done IMO. He’s just talking shit because nothing else is going to work. This won’t work either, but it’s hardly anything personal like they’re selling it. My Seminoles will be ok but we were incredibly stupid today. We tried to hard, going all the way back to our practice week, to reach a certain plateau that every national contender reaches. That plateau was treating a losable game like a “takin care a bidness game.” They repeated the phrase around here all week like the game didn’t even matter, but also like they were taking it sooooo seriously. We’re good…but we’re not 90s Seminoles good where conference opponents are meaningless games where we can have false modesty. So then came the game finally. They scored, we responded, got it together at halftime, then it was 31-10. That game should have been over right there. We should have ran it out and been done with it. Instead we kept trying for a knockout and fooled around and let them back into it. Then on defense that quarterback wasn’t that good. We just kept going for the knockout there too. We flew in for all these big hits and missed instead of wrapping up.

I happened to be born with tight hamstrings and tendons, and they cut both of my achilles as a youngun I think. I never actually asked anybody what they actually did. They did some kind of surgery. I barely remember any of it. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Vikings. I know 0-2 was a meme of doom for a long time but we’re in the era of 7-8 playoff teams. The Eagles haven’t looked great but they’ve took care of business. They’re a winning team that finds a way to win. A whole bunch of other teams would have blew that game, like the Colts did last year.
