  1. Shows how big WCW was in the mid-90’s when it was the only stock footage of pro wrestling past their expiration date.
  2. Yeah, cut down on the obvious T&A crap. Especially if they look like low-rent stock photos for pool floats, and accessories.
  3. Probably showed him a highlight real of guys, and a detailed rundown of their potential market value.
  4. Is Watch Along the modern equivalent of this... ?
  5. Probably why they’ve kept trying her out in different roles. I’m not a big fan of Alexa, but she still has a potential to do something where she isn’t required to bump. Too bad she’s struggled in the roles they’ve given her. Last resort would be as a color woman. Maybe try her out on 205 Live, and see what she can do.
  6. Sucks, but even when he was out of the clear the last time he still looked in rough shape. Seeing Bret in the recent Magee documentary also gave me a similar concern.
  7. “I just have one more question, Mr. MORELOCK.”
  8. Actually this is a really fresh match-up for the summer, bay-beeee. Think about it! Meltzer goes missing for months, and there are Meltzer sightings everywhere. Detective Tony Shalhoub is on the case. MORELOCK not only finds him, he’s also bought his services. Craig H is saddened by this news, but still determined that Dave is still on his side. So the stakes have been set! It’s Meltzer Vs. Meltzer! Winner will be the real Meltzer! At the biggest party of the summer!
  9. That explains the price tag. The dark side of dealing with a TV business that’s stuck in the past. They just need to survive long enough to get a better deal on the next contract, and build their library.
  10. You’re right they can’t rush it. Even with the money, they have to drive cautiously. They might do well with these PPV’s on B/R, and that might give them leverage when they can strike up a multi- year deal to provide content either for B/R, or a higher bidder down the line. My optimism levels have gone up. Is this the only PPV they’ll have before the show?
  11. Thing is @Casey that’s the main model past cable. Not just for wrestling, but also for all of entertainment. And streaming is the future battle ground for this wrestling war. Maybe PWG is a pie in the sky, but you know dang well they’ll try. Along with grabbing footage from a ton of indie promotions. Which right there is the 2nd wave of content that will appeal to this new generation wrestling fandom.
  12. I could see them striking a deal with Excalibur, and Highspots to get access to the PWG footage to add content since the majority of the roster built their career there. They have quite obviously have been partnering up with small Indie promotions across the US. So something could come from that. But yeah, you need a year or two to build this ship up. That’s one inside track that WWE has, that AEW doesn’t. Maybe an exclusive show to the network that features exclusive promos, and important turning points in the on-screen angles. There is also a ton of old school footage still out there to be picked if they wanted it. But it’s their prerogative, and how much they want to pony up for Memphis, or old NWA territory footage.
  13. But Brock is a man who hates the business. The only reason he came back was because Vince wanted him back, and Vince was willing to spend the big bucks to bring him in. Brock was probably content on staying on the farm for the rest of his life. Young nobodies aren’t willing to show up their boss’s rules. I doubt Vince will want them back, unless they became somebody. But that will take them time to recover. Who’s willing to eat a bullet? Welllllllll... Until Lio Rush came around.
  14. If you try to fight it as a wrestler without any stroke, then you are asking to be black balled no matter how unfair the system is. If only there was a union. *sigh*
  15. What about that Worldwide taping with Sid as world champ before he was fired.
  16. The Magee match was what everyone said after I got done watching it. Bret made the match look competent. It’s so obvious Magee would be lost otherwise. He did have lots of potential. So I can see why Vince took a liking to him.
  17. In his defense, so did Vince even about a couple of years ago.
  18. Shaq as AEW’s closest thing to Mongo McMichael could be a possiblity.
  19. I’ll admit I do have an itch to buy it even with the reservations. It’s that wrestling bug in my blood. Sometimes it takes ahold of me, and I do the dumb things to my bank account. Edit: Looking over the app on my Fire TV. What do I see next to AEW? The Alliance of American Football. Yikes... They need to build this shit around AEW pronto. Edit 2: Jeez, all these obscure sports. This is like a modern Deuce. Edit 3:PGA Golf is free as shit, at least. Edit 4: These free ONE Muay Thai shows look cool. It’s weird that they essentially traded a boxing aesthetic for an MMA one even if they don’t appear to do any subs or anything on the ground. Edit 5: Holy shit they got a fake Lenne Hardt on this ONE show. It’s not even the fake one from New Japan. It’s a whole different raspy lady doing it.
