  1. MSP Rodney did contribute more to late 90’s wrestling in a positive way than Roddy Piper did, I’ll give you that.
  2. The answer is neither are legit, just do to the fact that neither have a physical “Hall”. I’ll give the edge to Meltzer’s, though. Probably because Kevin Nash, and Shawn Michaels should not be allowed to re-enter as many times as they have in a place of fame. I honestly wonder how desperate the WWE will get with their entrants in the future when they run out of 80’s, and 90’s guys. Could we see them scrape the bottom of the barrel to get a legend on their, and have The New Mega Powers (Hogan & Brutus) get inducted? Or will they say fuck it, and put Rodney Mack in? Pretend fans remember what the “White Boy Challenge” was.
  3. I’ve never seen a lick of his NWA run. Was he really as bad as they say he was? Like I’ve read from people who like old school graps, and can’t stand Severn. I know I didn’t like his WWF run I’ll say that. But shoot guys during that period were never going to get the benefit to work that match style in front of that audience in that time.
  4. That’s an interesting headline. What’s the translation?
  5. Fire Emblem, and now Pokémon. The Switch actually feels worth it again since launch.
  6. King of Colosseum was the good kid that got straight A’s, and went to University. We love that kid, and we respect their greatness, but it’s not our special little Fire Pro. BTW, finally got my copy of VPW2. At first I was kinda disappointed. Even on the hardest settings, it was either a one sided ass beating by me, or the CPU. But after a few play throughs I finally got the AKI pattern down again, and making the epic matches I used to create on No Mercy. Of course with the added goodness of stuff like the German suplex no sell. I think Kobashi might be my ideal guy in this game just from the fact that if your opponent is just above the threshold of low life, he still kicks out of Kobashi’s moonsault. Which is ideal if you want role-play Kobashi from the late 90’s. Akiyama is also a pretty good one to role-play as. His Exploders are sold just like hip tosses, in that the CPU pops up quick from them. Something that’s pretty accurate to Akiyama matches.
  7. Yeah 10 wrestlers didn’t seem right... Until I saw Jungle Kyona in there. 10 bucks is totally worth it. Now I gotta get my white wife beater, flip flops, and souvenir bag to sit down to play this silently in the dark, only mildly reacting to what’s going on in the video game ring like every red blooded Stardom fan.
  8. I actually thought it was one of their better match. The part where Zack Saber was super close to putting Ibushi away, but the Kota was able to make sure Zack couldn’t get a proper hold of his leg was brilliant.
  9. The last time I saw Aries wrestle was in MLW, and he looked like he was in the kind of shape Dynamite Kid was in at the end of his career.
  10. Probably is a more justifiable protagonist in the Manga, because right now he feels like a holdover that the show director was told needed to stay in. He actually sort of reminds me of the Kinnikuman commentators, and comic relief supporting cast that were added in to fill in time to the anime. BTW, I don’t care for the fighting protagonist(Ohma) either. He’s currently one of the most bland lead fighting anime characters, and least interesting character in this series. Kaneda(The chess player) might be my personal fav, with the best fight in the first half of the series(Vs. the Jeet Kune Do practitioner).
  11. ESPN has no more journalistic integrity anymore. Dan Lebatard’s recent rant against his own company basically was the nail in the coffin for that facade. They are living off past reputation at this point, in the way they used to run their newsroom in the 90’s, and maybe a few years ago. Corporate America has disrupted basic criticism that the public justifiably had over them in recent times.
  12. Both sound like a euphemism for disrupting male ejaculation.
  13. Well let’s be honest, doesn’t Ryback have a little something over Martel when it comes to being both a moderately successful heel, and face in the WWE/F? Martel fans can’t believe that Rick was over as a face as Ryback was in the WWE, can they? So you could realistically form a debate for Ryback.
  14. I watched those a while back, and I came away with a negative opinion of Al Snow after that. Especially because of the worked punch video. It screamed to me like “I’m bad at throwing worked punches, so don’t expect me to teach you”, or maybe that’s how he was taught so he’s repeating his teachers speech verbatim. Admittedly, I agreed with his sentiment at one point. Especially depending on what the companies booking style is. But to act like a worked punch can’t work, unless it’s a finish, is preposterous. To me, if you can throw a believable worked punch. Then fucking do it. The last thing I need as a booker is another guy who fucked up his arm because he’s throwing too many meaty chops. But the other guys gotta fucking sell it.
  15. Cass might get his win back for this.
  16. From a logic standpoint, Becky trying to avenge her loss to Asuka makes every possible sense to follow Mania, or at least build to a SummerSlam match. Not feuding with an unfrozen 18th Century plantation heiress.
  17. Didn’t they already run that match?
  18. The end part of the video is exactly what I’ve been saying for years. Selling the punch is the most important part. No matter how good the punch can look, it falls apart as soon as the wrestler taking it just stands there barely flinching for it.
  19. They had them, but they dumped Punk in favor of this... The casual cool kids never returned after that.
  20. At least they gave him the chance to be a heel. Ricky Steamboat begged, and begged, and begged, but they told him “No”. I sometimes watch that footage with him, Flair, and Arn in WCW with suits on when they were all faces that makes me wish we saw them as the new Horseman, with Richard Blood in the Tully role.
  21. Chris Hemsworth worries me the most. That guy might be in real life a handsome smart cool guy, but he can’t act like a handsome cool guy. Which is who Sully is. I assume they got him for name value, but the new MiB proves that his name don’t draw when he’s at the top of the card.
  22. If you need to point to a match from his WWF heel run that was legit a real good highlight, then I’d say Razor Vs. The Model for the vacant IC Belt is the one you’d recommend. Martel was never as motivated in the ring in his WWF run as he was that night.
