  1. Fight! Fight! Fight! As with any entertainment/art it will be appreciated and enjoyed in a very personal way. I think we can all get behind that idea. However if I never heard "What?!!" chants or "2...Sweeeeet" again I would be very happy.
  2. Amen to that. Being part of the narrative in the traditional sense as opposed to clever chants or digging the cool heels is so much more enjoyable to witness and to do as a fan myself. Seems like it is getting more and more lost these days. Thank goodness for little kids and old school southern wrasslin' crowds.
  3. Of course it being Drake he takes it from the apron to the exposed concrete. CZW! CZW! I don't know. maybe I need to let it sit for a bit and give it a rewatch, but it just didn't strike me as an all time great. It was good and while the finish was a lot of ga ga it protected Black, continued the Gargano story and put heat on Ciampa it just never really grabbed me.
  4. Just another reason to listen to the Japanese commentary team. Although with Honma it feels like Regan from Exorcist is doing color. Oh also I loath Don Callis and his schtick something fierce. Rocky is fine.
  5. That match gets 5 stars and DIY vs Revival 2/3 only gets 4.75? I really don't know about that Meltz.
  6. Solid episode with good action that advanced stories well, however the end segment was the highlight and why LU stands out from any other promotion/show. Look forward to seeing where this goes.
  7. My only issue is that right before the stretch that led to the finish Bate got in to break up Strong's Kondo Clutch. Why wouldn't he break up the submissions by O'Reilly? I mean I get the throw back to faces not interfering or only having a limited number of saves and it sold the story, but it is so inconsistent to any other tag match filled with partner saves including this match. The dueling chants were insufferable and seemingly only broken up so the fans could do their clever 2 sweet bit.
  8. It was like the perfect storm of styles coming together. Everything just worked and the crowd was into it the whole way. Love love love that match.
  9. Hopefully it's better than the San Francisco show.
  10. We probably don't deserve to live in a world with Rusev as WWE champion. Just imagining the celebration and the chants of Rusev Day at Extreme Rules and then on Smackdown Live(!)...yeah it would just be too good. Can't possibly reward the fans with anything like that.
  11. Just watched Walter/Darby and damn I loved that match. Walter is just this slab of unrelenting pain and Allen is a wild scrawny street dog fighting for the last scrap of food in the dumpster. Tremendous body part work and selling, hard hitting shots, Darby with his innovative offense and willingness to get beaten to a pulp. Great stuff.
  12. This one wouldn't last long as Cornette would try and shoot on Kenny. "Exposing the business you blow up doll and little girl wrestling mother fucker!!" Tennis Racket vs One Winged Angel!
  13. Ah man I was hoping the thread title would be "What About Bob(by Lashley)?"
  14. My bad. I tend to tune Striker and Vampiro out so I missed that.
  15. Six man was great and I like the idea of a Ricochet/Cole program but is there any title that means less than the North American? Universal maybe? Gargano is absolutely going to cost Ciampa the title and then hopefully we get a fitting blowoff and then separate these guys til the main roster. Reeves is still very meh. It's a generic gimmick done blandly. Kind of surprised Candace got such a definitive win, but I guess they may be positioning her for a title shot soon.
  16. Episode three still feels a bit like a watered down version of LU, which may be just the norm now, but each week seems to be getting better. A fun exotico spotfest, Cage wreaking havoc, furthering the creepy doll deal with Ricky and the 3 way was a lot of fun. I really liked that Ivelisse just kept going when the prop hammer broke. Made it seem all the more savage rather than a botchamania moment.
  17. I was bemused by Phillips dropping a Smokin' Aces Tremor Brothers quote "can go megaton at the drop of a hat" referencing the Bludgeon Brothers although Sanity may fit that mold better.
  18. Overall I thought the tourney was a bit underwhelming and a step down from last year. Maybe it was because I didn't dig Gibson much. The Six-man was a bunch of fun. Night 2 peaked with the title change and couldn't get back to that level the rest of the night. Storm doesn't do much for me, but she and Bazler had a good match going until the meh finish. The Black/Ricochet vs Dream/EC3 had it's moments, but also seemed clunky at times and that finish just seemed to take forever for EC3 to turn around. He milked it, but not in a good way to me. Finals checked off a lot of the epic boxes, but didn't draw me in. Maybe it's the fact seeing Dunne be the favorite or again that Gibson seems flat to me. Good technically, but a shadow of the Dunne/Bate matches on any emotional connection. Still excited to see how NXT UK develops in the future.
  19. This is giving me flashbacks of these guys being all over the HWA shows back in the day and Sanders run there as booker. Ooof.
  20. There is some super fun stuff with Marseglia and one of boys on the State of the Art San Antonio show. Although Colt and Riccaboni playing dumb on commentary, or being legit clueless, undercut it a bit.
  21. While I am glad LU is back, that was a rough return. Antonio looks like he walked out of a terrible SNL sketch. I really hope they pull some magical mumbo jumbo to put that situation back where it needs to be. Aztec Warfare was a mess. Just a bunch of bad eliminations(was Chavo supposed to hit a brainbuster and not a meh suplex on Fenix?) and nothing had any build or real connection. Dreamer and Godderz...no thanks. Ricky Mundo is possessed..or something, but they sure got a lot of shots of that scary doll huh? That was...cool? Count me in on thinking they swapped out Melissa for someone else. Trying to stay positive but man not much to pick from in episode 1. Let's hope it gets better.
  22. Some minor quibbles (Dunne landing on his knee on backflips in quick succession while barely selling) aside Dunne/O'Riley was great stuff. Was kind of put off by Belair's blue lipstick look, but she just continues to get better and better, although I'll echo the thought that Aliyah seems to be unfairly stuck in a thankless enhancement role. The sit-out Spicy Drop is a much better finish for Belair than the Alley Oop or spear. War Raiders have the perfect offense for squashing guys(although that pop up powerslam looked very dodgy) A feud with The Mighty has some potential. EC3 seems like he will work better on the main roster as his character work and look will matter more than his mediocre in ring. I haven't got a clue where Ohno stands. On the verge of a turn? Player coach who is just there to get guys over? On hold till he drops weight? Video packages were excellent especially Gargano/Ciampa. I do think the program needs a proper blow off, and I am not sure a street fight is it, but I also don't know where else they can go. I do wish Almas had remained champion long enough for Gargano to finally beat him. Would have been a nice story, but that is the nature of NXT with the roster call ups.
  23. As a huge LIJ mark and not one of the people that is a fan of Omega and the Bucks brand of "evolution" the show was a massive disappointment on a purely biased emotional level outside of being so happy to see Hiromu win. Oh and screw Elgin, Taichi was right there Gedo. C'mon!
  24. No offense meant. You guys enjoy the show. Louisville isn't that bad. Evansville however...
  25. Going from Paris and Antwerp to Louisville and Evansville? Yeesh talk about from the penthouse to the outhouse.
