  1. Is it possible to grow out of wrestling? I think I'm growing out. Bryan winning at Mania was EXACTLY what I wanted to happen and I didn't pop like I thought I would. Tonight's show...I couldn't stomach it. I see a guy with a weird mustache talking about deportation interrupted by a crazy dancing party and I just couldn't watch it. I didn't used to be like that. I would have loved that segment just a couple of years ago. Maybe I'm just growing past "sports entertainment." It's not working for me anymore.
  2. I like how reporters used to get off on "exposing" pro wrestling. Some investigative journalism there, honey.
  3. Garbage and teenagers. I won't apologize for being fourteen in 1998.
  4. It seems he thinks most people thought wrestling was legit until Vince McMahon "exposed the business." I dunno, maybe that was true in the south, but I grew up in Kentucky and I knew it was a work when I was about 5. It didn't matter. What mattered was whether or not is was good, not whether it was real or fake. A lot of the stuff from mid-90's Cornette WWF was not good.
  5. Listening to yet another Cornette interview where he rips the current WWE product. He makes some decent points, but it's funny that most of the stuff he booked while there fucking sucked and didn't draw flies.
  6. Awful. Why is Gene's right arm in Popeye mode? Condition I'm unaware of?
  7. HBK/Jarrett is the third best WWF match in '95 behind Bret/Bulldog and HBK/Razor. I know the company wasn't exactly "top notch" in '95, but those 3 matches are all awesome, no matter the year IMO.
  8. The SEC is bleeding coaches. Fuckin' depressing. Step up for Cuonzo (at least sideways) step down for Haith. They got out while they could, I suppose.
  9. That really stuck out for me too. With all that he's given the WWF/E, and the position he holds, Pat Patterson isn't living well? Wrestling is awful. I had flashbacks of the MTV True Life with Tony Atlas in a shitty, unkempt apartment eating tuna out of a can watching VHS tapes of his glory days. Some "legend," eh?
  10. So, did Piper forget it was PG now or did they instruct him to act that way?
  11. In the Bret-Perfect match from SS '91 (great match, obviously) when did Perfect give any indication that he wanted to quit?
  12. Just like it's just an accepted fact of life that the majority of hockey players are okay to jump into the league at 18 years old. No issue for the white farm boys to do it because if they fail, they can go back to daddy's farm. But it's the end of the world if basketball players jump straight into the NBA. Hockey and baseball also have minor leagues, where most players develop for years before their ready for the majors. There have been exceptions, but are more rare. . In football the players are physically not ready most of the time, and the CBL keep out those flukes that maybe. In basketball you still really only have the NBA. The D league is developing, but its not comparable to MLB or NHL. You make a solid point, but I think from the perspective of people like O'Reilly, racism is a heavy factor. I'm sure you and I could have a decent conversation about the situation, but Billy's mind is tainted.
  13. You guys don't think hustlers are giving NCAA players drugs? Well, surely you'll agree that rap music is ruining the country, no? I wonder if he would ask those same questions to an NCAA hockey coach? Me thinks not.
  14. Good. The NCAA is a joke and they fucked over Calipari TWICE while letting Duke and North Carolina (should I mention UCLA?) get away with murder. Can't confirm Derrick Rose's SAT score? Bring down the banner, this is strict liability here! Wait, UNC puts its athletes in fake classes? Umm...look over there! Not in the direction of Lance Thomas, look the other way! Please!!! I hope the NCAA dissolves and crumbles like a stale cookie with their selective enforcement bullshit. Chickens coming home to roost.
  15. I've said this before, but the WM7 match is only great if you're emotionally invested in the Savage/Liz storyline. If you're not, it's pretty dull. Their Summerslam 1992 match is much better. Honestly, I've always thought that match was overrated. Kicking out of 5 elbow drops? Really? I literally LOL'd at that when I watched it again years ago. I probably think the Hogan match is better.
  16. Yea, he had some crazy ideas, but that's not what today is about. Not even close.
  17. Was probably discussed in a HOF thread I didn't see, but I liked that he had balls to address the DVD and call it bullshit right to their faces.
  18. Yeah we definitely need to wait for the autopsy, but I think most people would be surprised if it's not something heart related. His unbelievable physique, crazy workout routine, suddenly collapsing... But God bless the way he went out. A wrestler's dream ending. That's what I will remember from this.
  19. If he just had a heart attack, this past week was the best way for a wrestler to go out ever. R.I.P.
  20. Did that really just happen? Undertaker lost? I can't....I mean....wow. Excellent PPV from top to bottom. Lesnar beating the streak and Bryan finally getting his win will be played for many years to come.
  21. Jake's speech was something special. Just seeing him up there was surreal. I liked Scott Hall's speech. Short and sweet. Or is it too sweet?
  22. I'm a huge UK fan, but I do find it funny that the title game is the team who can't cut it in class vs. the team who doesn't want to go to class.
  23. I would recommend Percocet to get through Tori vs. Sable.
