  1. I know it won't ever happen, but I'd love to see another cinematic MITB match. 2020 might not have been the best MITB matches ever, but they might have been the most fun.
  2. If they were going to guarantee 75, why not just guarantee the full 80? If you're already shelling out 75, 5 on top that seems like a paltry number? I'm sure it has something to do with cap numbers and magic, but just curious to me.
  3. It's a shame, but anything Wardlow had going for him was overshadowed by all of the MJF shit. He went from the forefront of the feud to the afterthought.
  4. He personally wouldn't go on any of my "Top of" lists, but I will agree with you that his whole deal in AEW is pretty great. He has a niche and he's awesome at it. Plus he throws a mean Death Valley Driver.
  5. If I HAD to pick only 4..... Kingston- It starts and stops here(outside of the obvious American Dragon, because I feel that he's #1 on almost everyones list). He's just "real", Im not sure how else to put it. Open about his own struggles with mental health, despite seeing what kind of maniac he can be on the mic, in the ring, you almost never hear a bad word about the guy behind the scenes. He's consistently one of, if not the best workers in AEW and his mic skills, IMO, are second to none. Matt Cardona- Matt Cardona is the opposite of Eddie Kingston but the same in terms of how they get me engaged in wrestling. Cardona is a great character(which seems to be an extension of himself), absolutely hilarious and a guy who obviously took his ball and made himself outside of WWE. Anyone watching Zach Ryder could see the dude had it and the fact that he gets to be himself on the indies is awesome. His run after leaving WWE is probably one of my favorite things in wrestling all time. Takeshita- My introduction to him has been extremely recent, but holy hell do I absolutely love watching anything he does. Put the TNT title on him, immediately. Hangman Adam Page- I know this one might be controversial(especially after seeing how people reacted to him after the Punk match), but I love the dude. If you look in the best AEW matches thread, you'll find him casually in the top 10, multiple times on almost everyones list.
  6. So I'll admit that my WWE viewings have been minimal and sporadic at that, but here is my attempt at a top 5. I'm 100% sure I'm missing something, but here goes. 1. Bianca Belair v Becky Lynch, Wrestlemania. This is far and away the match of the year for me personally in WWE/NXT 2. Cody Rhodes v Seth Rollins, Hell in A Cell *I'm putting an asterisk here because this is a REAL tough match to rank so soon after viewing. The injury to Cody put an emotional investment in the match that I guarantee wouldn;t have been there otherwise. Stupid, insane, tough, but holy shit was I engrossed from opening bell to final pinfall. 3. Asuka/Lynch/Belair Hell In A Cell. 4. Cody v Rollins, Wrestlemania 5. Austin/Owens, Wrestlemania. I know from an in-ring perspective, this might not appear as a "Best of the year" candidate, but the sheer spectacle, the nostalgia of Austin coming back, how good it actually was. It just clicked a lot of boxes for me. Honorable mention to Pretty Deadly v The Creed Bros from SAturday night and Rollins/Rhodes, Wrestlemania Backlash.
  7. Seth has always been my least favorite of the Shield and his nasally voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. That being said, the match with Roman, (including him dressing in Shield attire to get in his head), the feud with Rhodes, I mean, he really is having a great run this year. Easily the most I've enjoyed him. I think him losing 3x to Cody is more of a good than a bad thing, because i could see this leading to an even more unhinged Rollins(if that's possible) and given how much he goes all in with his characters, im excited to see what he does.
  8. I'm not happy he's injured, at all, but I am happy he won't be around the world title scene for a bit. I wasn't a fan of him winning over Hangman, at all, as it felt like Hangman had more in his run and the rug was pulled out from under him. Young Bucks/Lucha Bros delivered and boy did they deliver. Hogan/Athena was awesome. Athena is so damn good and I don't know if it was just me, but she just seems THAT much smoother than 90% of the women's roster. Going to be excited to see her and Cargill finally get at one another. I fell asleep sadly before Sky/Martin, so I'll have to check up on that later, but I can't imagine that match would be bad, I'm high on both Martin/Sky. I do have to ask, is there a reason that Ethan Page barely wrestles? I'm not hopping on the "bloated roster" bandwagon, but Page should be having matches here and there and it seems like outside of the Trios match at DON and the match with Mox when Mox first came back, he's had no other matches. (If I'm wrong, please let me know, im not as up to date on Dark/Elevation, i catch it when I can). I feel like all signs are pointing to Moxley winning. I'm not sure they'd do Danielson/Moxley again. The fan in me wants Kingston, but as someone before said, when Kingston wins, it should be for ALL of it, not just an interim win. That being said, it being an interim win, i don't think they'd do amything "shocking" really as interim has an "ugly connotation" as evident by the comments I've been saying on Facebook. Side note, Wrestling Groups on Facebook are some of the most toxic fucking places I've ever seen. You aren't allowed to be fans of "wrestling" in general, you have to pick your side and defend it until your dying breath, it's horrible. AEW is so exciting right now, just for the sheer unpredictability of it.
  9. Everything he does is just so intense. He really is a damn joy to watch, in an absolutely unhinged, chaotic and violent way, lol. That visage of him bleeding witht he gas can, well i had it printed out onto an 8x10 and i have a goal to get it signed and framed for my house. Just an absolute epic shot.
  10. Young Bucks v Lucha Bros is always must-see TV.
  11. Miro is back! I like Scorpio Sky, but Miro should decimate him for the belt to, as others have stated, put a "hard reset" on the TNT title. It sucks to see that they're treating Thunder Rosa and the Womens belt similarly to Hangman and the World belt. An afterthought. I loved the MJF promo, just because it's an air of unpredictability and I'm interested to see where it goes next. Thought they didn't really treat Wardlow like the Monster he came across as leading up to the PPV. It seems like AEW is excellent at booking these long term storylines (Hangman, Wardlow, Rosa), but they don't know what to do once they're finished. Like "Oh, well that's finished, um..." Cue Talladega Nights "I don't know what to do with my hands" CM Punk v Tanahashi should be awesome, but it's a real shame that the World Champ was the worst out of everyone out there during the 6 man, including Billy Gunn. Is Kingston one of, if not the most over people on the roster at this point? I swear when comes out it's always a massive pop. I really hope that he gets a Foley-esque, feel good title win at some point, hopefully from Punk.
  12. That’s fair. im letting my hatred of CM Punk bleed into other things. For The Record(see what I did there) I have no issue when FTR does it and actually find it fun and endearing
  13. Am I the only one who feels like the Bret Hart infatuation in AEW is overkill at this point? Mox v Garcia is going to be incredible. That's definitely something I can't wait to see tonight.
  14. I really can’t comprehend all of the Hangman hate in here
  15. Can’t wait for more pandering CM Punk promos now. Kind of disappointed he won the belt. This was probably the weakest AEW PPV I’ve watched thus far. Loved the 10 man brawl, house of black v death triangle but that main even result made me feel I wasted a few hours of my life.
  16. I'm definitely of the mind that KOR is the best of the Cole/Fish/KOR trio, so this makes me happy. His match v Balor at Takeover 31 was incredible. I want faux hawk, denim vest ass kicker KOR back though.
  17. I'm hoping that KENTA costs Punk the match, to set up a match at Forbidden Door. 1-Because I want to see Kenta/Punk 2-I want Punk nowhere near the title.
  18. Outside of the CGI, I think this looks fun. Also, I'm into the most likely Abomination v She-Hulk/Hulk handicap match, because I feel that is going to happen. I do miss the harder edged Netflix shows something fierce. Daredevil Season 1 and Jessica Jones Season 1 are two of my favorite Marvel properties and definitely in my top 5. That being said, I'm aware that these shows aren't really "made for me", but im loving them anyway. My daughter is unbelievably excited for Ms. Marvel and I can't wait to show her this trailer too. Between the amazing womens wrestling we're currently getting and the influx of female superheroes in the mainstream media, she's overwhelmed with positive female representation. I have no doubt I'll be adding to her Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman and Black Widow wall decorations in short order.
  19. I'm looking at my list I posted yesterday, and it changed already outside of about 4-5. I have my top tier, but the rest is flowing depending on the day and my mood and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Like today, I just want to watch old Eliminators v anyone matches because The Eliminators were one of my favorite tag teams of all time. That's the best thing about having so many time periods, territories, promotions. You really could make a "Favorites" of each individual one and it would't be wrong. Except for the fact that I will go to my grave saying that R-Truth is one of the best comedic wrestlers of all time, criminally underrated when he played it straight and probably one of the most entertaining people to ever step in the ring. R-Truth is absolutely a constant. I think i made this post just to talk positively about R-Truth, lol
  20. In no particular order: Danielson, Foley, Funk, Macho Man, Piper, Brody, Vader, Samoa Joe, Sabu, Eddie Guerrero, The Great Muta, Mikey Whipwreck, R-Truth, New Jack
  21. I don't know how in the span of a few months have I gone from super excited CM Punk is back and enjoying everyone of his matches/AEW involvement, so being annoyed at his very existence and face while still enjoying his matches/AEW involvement, lol. It's quite a conundrum. I like everything he does, yet still don't like his face. It's the Rob Riggle/Step Brothers effect I suppose. I want Hangman to retain so badly. That was a tremendous Dynamite, another in the long string of them. Outside of the aforementioned, and I admit irrational hate of CM Punk's face as of late, I love everything about the current direction of AEW. I'm hoping Toni Storm wins the womens Owen and after last night, I'd be okay with a Jeff Hardy Owen win on the mens side(depending on who the Joker is.)
  22. Cody/Theory is worth at least one watch, IMO. I'm really liking Cody's work since coming back to WWE. Liv/Rhea is solid, but the other stuff involving Judgment Day is skip worthy.
  23. I thought Theory/Cody was solid and enjoyed it, even the ending. KO/Ezekiel is hilarious. the 24/7 stuff is just there at this point, but I always smile whenever Truth is on screen. Unhinged Becky Lynch is my favorite version of her since Nia Jax busted her nose open. Edge is lame. Absolutely lame. Everything about this presentation screams "Hot topic angry" at me. I'm just hoping that the in-ring work will overshadow how little I think of Edge right now. Poor Ciampa. I get he's featured on Raw, but for how long?
