  1. Not wrestling-related but still one of the weirdest pieces of merch I've seen
  2. How big are these buildings? Those are some sad numbers for WWE. How long until they're back to playing the Cape Cod Melody Tent?
  3. I'm not sure how it's supposed to be his fault; the recipient of the move is essentially doing a backflip like when you counter a belly to back suplex and land on your feet. If I'm tasked to blame anyone, I'm blaming the guy who is over 50, not as light or spry as he used to be, and maybe can't go up for moves like he could in the old days. But who knows? Maybe Kazarian didn't push him enough to get him through the rotation. Maybe Liger had a brain fart and thought he was being suplexed the same way muscle memory kicks in and guys tuck their chins on the Styles Clash. Whatever, it's hard to assign blame from a 5 second gif. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  4. I forgot all about the Russo debacle. She fought, to the detriment of the company, every single person who suggested cutting ties with him. Then he left anyway. It reminds me of the time Frankie Kazarian quit WWE because he didn't want to cut his hair, then he ended up cutting it later anyway.
  5. I desperately want to see someone win a PWG match with a Falcon Arrow.
  6. Search out Patton Oswalt's account of the filming. It's amazing. The best part is how Wesley gave up on the movie, stayed in his trailer smoking weed the whole time, and just did all his closeups, letting his stand-in handle all the rest of the filming.
  7. Back when I was on Zoloft, I should have used the I FORGOT MY MEDICATIONS gambit more often.
  8. They actually recorded one with Ahmed Johnson as well but it drove six closed captioning workers clinically insane.
  9. If she's following her husband's workout and supplement regimen, it's not outside the realm of possibility that this book title is a true statement.
  10. And now you know.......the rest of the story.
  11. I remember being at a house show, lower concourse first row by the entrance when Bret walked within a few feet of my friends and I and it hit me how big the guy really was. Michaels was 6'1" and in the low 200s when he was part of the "small, high-flying" Rockers. Perfect was immense compared to a lot of today's guys like Balor, Enzo, Aries, Styles, etc.
  12. Yeah. I think Excalibur in PWG was the first to call it that. Maybe it's a play on words and is supposed to sound vaguely like "yukuza."
  13. I heard Becky Lunch's song being played before a faceoff at a Caps game. I can't stand Donavan Dijak. He looks like someone Johnny Ace would have snapped up with the quickness while perusing the International Male catalog around 2003. A slightly skinnier but just as bland version of early oughts Mark Jindrak.
  14. It's not Cole's fault; the move has been called, and pronounced that way, that since the El Generico days. Except in ROH, which will not abide such silliness, and just called it a Yukuza kick.
  15. It's cool how ROH finally got around to changing J. Diesel's name when they finally realized two "Jay's" is already one too many, much less three.
  16. Now I can't stop wondering if Randy did the Macho Man voice during lovemaking. That is horrifying.
  17. The 80s were such a different time, man. It's all relative and we all bought into Vince's size queen bullshit. Watching old Manias today, it's glaring how huge the guys considered "small" back then were.
  18. EXACTLY. I noticed that in one of his early Raw matches. He is 100% old school in that all his mannerisms are exaggerated as is he's "working for the back row." It really stands out as cool and different in a company where they're all taught to ignore the crowd and only work for the camera. What's the over/under on how long it takes Vince or He Who Shall Not Be Named to notice this and put the kibosh on it?
  19. As long as they rewrite the ending, we're good. They can just have Odetta distrust Roland because she's crazy. Problem solved.
  20. Exactly. I just listened to them on Jericho's podcast and it really came off like they were sick of flying back and forth to Japan constantly. So now they're paid well, working in their home country and, as you mentioned, they're in a major program. Oh noes, they're jobbing! That's what everybody in WWE does. Who cares?
  21. Re Mr. Robot: Thank God Meryl Streep's daughter is getting work. I always worry about the children of A-Listers being able to find roles. It's hard out there.
  22. Awesome, thanks. From the same match, he referred to the Andersons as "TWO MEMBERS OF THE DREADED FOUR HORSEMEN" which ruled.
  23. That was great. "GOD DAMMIT YOU'RE JUST TRYING TO GET YOURSELF OVER." Gary Capetta was awesome. Did he start every intro with "wrestling fans..." or just the major ones? There was one guy who did the call for, I want to say, the Starrcade cage match between the Rock & Roll Express and the Andersons and he was insane. He took this deep hoarse breath between every other word. "Ricky (suck wind) and Robert (gasp) The Rock (suuuck) and Roll (gaaaasp) Express!" IIRC, he even added his own little flourishes, referring to the RNR as "THE VASTLY POPULAR."
