  1. I have only experienced one promotion vs. promotion angle that worked, and that was RoH vs. CZW, and I pin about 70% of that on Naylor who would write about it on here in the most impassioned way.
  2. *facepalm* No. No no no no no no no. How many times must history show why WWE vs Whoever is a terrible idea? The WWE side will NOT LOSE. Vince McMahon would go out like Rasputin did to prevent "the brand" from ever losing to whoever else. It didn't happen with WCW, ECW or the Nexus. You can make something like that look amazing on paper, but in execution, at the end of the day, one is getting fed to the other, and we all know which side is eating. Running WWE vs NXT would be the same old shit. You would have a couple NXT people winning, a few WWE guys winning, and the main event would be Roman or Cena vs Finn or whoever. Roman or Cena would win, but their NXT opponent would have fought REAL HARD to show how scrappy they were and they just weren't good enough, MAYBE NEXT TIME THOUGH! So that's wonderful, making the NXT dudes look like they're not good enough, but getting the obligatory pat on the back and arm raised by Cena. Fuck that.
  3. Like who you want to like. I'm a Cubs fan before anything else, but I also like the Indians because of seeing Major League as a kid. When the Indians win the WS someday, it's going to have 1/1,000,000th of the impact of the Cubs winning it, but it would be cool. I'm a Colts and Bears fan too. Colts because my brother liked them a ton, and Bears because others in my family were fans. I grew up with both, but the Colts are closer to my heart. It made that one Super Bowl pretty weird to watch. I love Notre Dame since I grew up with the team and have always lived right near campus, but I also like IU because they're my alma mater. It helps that IUs football program is always dogshit, but it's fun whenever the basketball team is doing well. Only a Bulls fan, only a Blackhawks fan. I didn't grow up on any other NBA, NHL or college team, so that's about it. So for me, it had a lot to do with what I grew up with. As long as you're not going to be a douchebag bandwagon fan, be a fan of whoever.
  4. Here's an idea for the WWE Network that is original content: Bring back Prime Time wrestling. Make it one or two hours, probably one, have it hosted by two or three guys in the studio, and use the old Prime Time format of running commentary over recorded live events. If they're going to run this many shows at a time, you may as well record some of that to air as single matches on the WWE Network. I don't think they should do the skits that Heenan and Monsoon would do, but it would at least be something original to watch.
  5. So, a few months ago I watched Punk vs Cena from Money in the Bank and was kinda live blogging it on here because it was so fucking bizarre. Normally I would just watched the version of it I had saved on my laptop, but I switched laptops and figured I would just watch the WWE Network version. There were definitely audio changes, from little things like turning down the mic'd crowd volume, to bigger things, like mixing in Cena chants or boos for Punk. I watched that match again about a week or two ago and it was closer to the original feed. Some changes stuck, like mixing down the Punk chants throughout the show, but as for the match itself, it seems closer to normal, except for dips in the volume at times. To me though, nothing touches what was done to the Goldberg vs Brock match on the WM20 DVD. I watched that and thought, "what universe did this happen in?" It was so laughably obvious just how much they tried to present that match as something the crowd didn't shit all over on the DVD. I haven't watched it on the Network, so I'm not sure if it's the same as the DVD or closer to the original broadcast.
  6. HOLY SHIT! First thought: Is Jim Hendry working for the Orioles?
  7. Well that would be a step in the right direction.
  8. Well that's just fucking great.
  9. Caldwell's brain moves WAY too slow for someone like Mariota. I think this is probably Caldwell's last hurrah as HC in the NFL unless a team gets desperate. Well shit, after typing that, no way is this Caldwell's last HC position.
  10. I don't think that's remotely accurate. Everyone knew Duke Nukem was in development. It graced magazine covers. Had release dates. Missed them. Was delayed for any number of reasons. And then the studio shut down. Not once has Valve ever said they were working on Half-Life 3. If it does come out one day, why wouldn't you think it would be a good game? There's no history of problems with making it or delays in releasing it. For all we know, it's not something that's being worked on. You can look at the people employed by Valve. None of those guys are working on some big mystery game that would require the staff a game like Half-Life 3 would require. It's very likely that Half-Life 3 isn't coming out because they're not making it.
  11. Regarding armor, it appears to be used primarily in making armor lighter weight.
  12. Ice Cube is sad as hell right now.
  13. I back on the healthy living bandwagon. I haven't started working out yet since I'm waiting to get over sugar and carb withdrawal. Also, for the first time ever, I'm using the TDEE calculator. Using that, I should be taking in just under 2000 calories a day, while My Fitness Pal says it should be 1300 or 1400. I dropped 5 lbs. over the course of a week. I do feel like crap from depriving myself of candy, Cheez Its, etc. every night. It'll be nice once my dopamine adjusts itself so I stop feeling crummy. When I start working out, I'm doing P90 that came out in 2014, which is the newer version of Power 90. On top of that, I'm going to mix in DDP Yoga and start doing C25K when I can actually start running outside.
  14. Considering DDP claims diet soda contains multiple-times more calories than regular soda but a conspiracy between the U.S. government and BIG SODA is keeping that fact from you...yeah, I wouldn't necessarily trust his diet advice. For what it's worth, drinking diet soda is just as bad. Also, I think you misunderstood the point why because it's not about calories. At it's most base, you're drinking something with an artificial sweetener that's tricking your brain into thinking you're taking in sugar, prompting a response from your pancreas to regulate what it thinks is your body taking in sugar, which in turn makes you store body fat while slowing down your metabolism, burning less calories than you should. It's not the calories from diet soda, it's the calories you're not burning from anything else you eat. This is true. This is also true. The risk you run is taking in too few calories, but it's still healthier eating. And yeah, if you're going to have an alcoholic beverage, you're better off with anything other than beer or rum. When I lost 50 to 60 lbs. on South Beach years ago, if I had a drink, it was a vodka tonic. And only 1 or 2.
  15. FUCK CANCER. DAMMIT. This one hurts. Not going to lie. Tissues are in need.
  16. I played out a scenario where Darth Vader worked for Cobra and was a god. The GI Joes couldn't stop Cobra because they had Darth, so they had to find black clothed Luke and Chewie to even the score. The GI Joes also built the Millennium Falcon in time to shoot down all of Cobra's bubble jets. C3PO and BAT had a fight too.
  17. I have DDP Yoga. It gets fucking brutal. I will admit to getting incredibly lazy and I'm probably at my most out of shape in the last few years, but I'm not THAT out of shape. It also super compensates for any injuries or difficulties you may have because DDP is showing you various ways to do the exercises based on whatever is hurting. The dietary stuff is whatever. I think you just need to find the best diet for you and stick with TDEE to figure out how much to eat. His dietary suggestions put you under your BMR. I can't vouch for curing me of my addictions, but I think that's due more to DDP watching over Jake and Scott Hall like a hawk while being a compassionate person. As for trimming down and being in better shape, sure, I could see being religious about DDP Yoga contributing to that.
  18. ITT: Digging really deep holes wearing tinfoil hats.
  19. PSN has worked pretty flawlessly for me. The worst was just after Destiny came out where it kept going down due to attacks. And the Store on the PS3 was so slow. Since then, PSN has worked just fine, including downloading things. I just purchased Fallout 4 recently and it downloaded super fast.
  20. Ok. Anyway, I was just reminded today that Colin Trevorrow, or however you spell his name, is directing Episode IX. Now, I recall when this was announced, but at the time, I couldn't care less about Jurassic World or that he directed it. Then I watched Jurassic World a couple weeks ago. And now I read an article with comments from Trevorrow about Episode IX. Surely there's more than enough time to make a change. Just have JJ direct it or have Rian Johnson do episodes VIII and IX.
  21. We've already extensively reviewed why the entire Reebok deal is busted.
  22. First of all, NFL isn't scripted entertainment with pre-determined outcomes, last I checked. Secondly, keep telling yourself it's predicated on parity.
