Thanks, Matt. There were a couple people with better first hand info than I had and so when I was on the radio, I was just relaying what I could. But yeah, it was crazy. I still haven't really come down from it.

OCT 2017 WRESTLING PHOTO THREAD
TimLivingston replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I can't believe people don't get this by now. US attendance for WWE events has stagnated across the board the last few years. International attendance has gone up. When they've done things in India from a PR perspective, they've gotten a nice boost. So they put the belt on Jinder until they feel like they've gotten either India on board full time and they want everything on the brand and not just Jinder, or until they lose favor in India. -
We got through it, but the fire was about a mile away from my house in two different directions. Same with my brother. One of my best friends had the burn line literally get within feet of his house before it was put out. It's been a ridiculous ordeal. I was on the radio for 60 hours reporting on it the week it happened. Just mass pandemonium at some points, but we got through it.

Eh, the aping there is good-natured while what Cole and Will and all them have been doing is trolling Orton out.
-
Considering where Cole is heading, that seems like a weird thing to put on film right before you go to the company that's about to sign you.

Never thought I wanted to see Bob Sapp at EVO in July but now I do.

Would have been more impressed if it was Ishikawa. -
Alas, there are no more kickers/punters that Phil might be younger than.

The Super Smash Brothers missed out on a glitch gimmick. Especially in PWG. -
Shinobu Kandori vs. Bull Nakano - 7/14/94 - Chain Match, LLPW http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1badp2_bull-nakano-vs-shinobu-kandori-chain-match-llpw-7-14-94_sport An absolutely insane match, with the stretch run being one of my favorites ever. Cements Kandori as an all-timer in my book.

Your 2016 INTERNET MATCH OF THE YEAR thread!

Here's Jeff Cobb taking on local brute Drake Frost in a fun match, featuring two Cobb power spots that had me and EricR losing our collective minds. -

[MM16] R3A: JOHN MORRISON vs. NEW DAY
TimLivingston replied to RIPPA's topic in 2016 MARCH MADNESS (Archive)
Renee was legitimately a better performer this year than Johnny Mundo. -
Rusev threw a dead fish and rode out in a tank. Cesaro was in a great tag team, had some awesome standout matches, and is probably the best all around guy in the company right now. This decision sucks.

[MM16] R2C: SAMI ZAYN vs. FINN BALOR
TimLivingston replied to RIPPA's topic in 2016 MARCH MADNESS (Archive)
I think Finn has gotten a bit better over the course of the year. He's started to try and branch out a bit, and you can thank Joe for doing that with him. I also liked the Apollo showcase match more than I thought. Zayn hasn't had as much quality as people might think, sadly. He's had some good matches, but I think Finn wins this easily. More of the votes for Zayn are basically because people don't like Finn and do like Zayn, where if you look at the work, it's actually Finn who came up with some good stuff the last year. -
Eh, the end was a desperate move by a desperate man. He has no more cards to play. Hammer coming down in Season 5. Way better season this time around. Doug Stamper is a terrible human being. In some ways, moreso than Frank.

[MM16] R2B: VIRUS vs. ZACK SABRE JR
TimLivingston replied to RIPPA's topic in 2016 MARCH MADNESS (Archive)
Virus worked Liger in 2016. The combined age in that match was like 210. And they actually did a spot in the match where a punch was cocked, they realized it was a maestro match and that stuff was frowned upon, and then went into some slick mat work for the finish. ZSJ didn't have a spot of substance the entire year that was like that spot. Virus, baby. VIRUS. -
That was a bullshit first round, but you had to give it to Nunes just because she ended up on top in it. Shevshenko shouldn't have waited like she did.
-
Sounds like Beadle was there because she and HHH buried the hatchet, so it sounds like there was at least that much reasoning behind it. RAW is just so uninspired right now. They have no idea what they want to do now that Cena's all like, "Well, I MIGHT be able to come back after all because obviously you guys need me."

Green and Klay both have off nights, Bogut, Barnes, Mo step up. At some point, they're all gonna have an off night, but this was about as close as it came to that. Plus, Houston had to get a great game from Harden and 3's from everyone to even keep it close. Warriors just have that gear they hit when they need to that other teams just don't have right now. That's what makes them #1 with a gap even between them and San Antonio.

WRESTLER OF THE DAY (Series 2) - TOSHIAKI KAWADA

If you thought the MUGA match was weird, he did U-STYLE once. Can't find it to link to, though. Best "Timber" sell ever in this match and the craziest Hansen lariat.- 12 replies
