  1. Neither of them have any interest in narrative control…
  2. The guys from AOP keep insisting they aren’t done with wrestling yet…
  3. You could put the Workhorsemen with Tully.
  4. It might’ve been on a Coliseum Video release, too…
  5. There’s a super great Razor/Kid vs. Diesel/HBK tagger from I think Action Zone in 1994 I’m trying to track down…
  6. I was probably ten the first time I got in trouble for getting two toothpicks from the little thing by the door at Shoney's, sticking one behind my ear, and flicking the other one at my sister or whoever. When my dad asked my why I did it, I said "because I'm the Bad Guy." A few years later, I'm sitting watching Nitro, minding my own business. Scott Hall is on tv and my mom walks by. "Wait, is Scott Hall his real name?" She asked incredulously. "Uh, I think so. I know it isn't Starship Coyote." My mom left the room without saying another word. She came back a few minutes later with her high school yearbook. She opened to a certain page and showed me a giant half page picture of her and Razor goddamn Ramon cutting up in the hallway. Apparently they'd been super close in high school just before Hall had to move to Germany. They were both Army Brats. Some ten years after that, I'm sitting in a bar in Smyrna, Ga. I'm watching Brock Lesnar murder John Cena on my laptop while enjoying a couple of cold ones. This real tall kid comes up behind me. "You like wrestling?" "Yeah. I'm trying to figure out if I like this match or not." The tall kid laughed. We shot the shit a minute or two before he stuck out his hand. "I'm Cody. Cody Hall. My dad wrestled for a long time." It took me a minute to figure out who it was. After we talked another minute, I mentioned that my mom had gone to high school with his dad. He pulled out his phone and called Scott Hall. Scott was elated. Cody hung up after a few minutes. "Me and dad are gonna be watching football in here on Sunday. He said you could join us if you want." And that's how, on a random Sunday in 2012, I watched a full Sunday slate of NFL games with the greatest wrestler to have never won a World Title. He was unassuming, engaging, humorous, and more patient than he needed to be for a full grown man who turned into a mark the second he shook the hand of one of his all time favorites. We called mom and I heard a couple good stories from their high school days. He told me a couple real good AWA stories and texted Sean Waltman. Part of me wishes I'd gotten a photo or video from that day, but I had such an amazing experience that I didn't want to ruin it by acting like a mark. When it was time to go, he shook my hand, gave me a "too sweet," and that was it. That was my day with "The Bad Guy." He will be missed. What I remember most, however, was how proud his son was of his sobriety. Hall probably bought himself an extra decade+ of life by battling his demons and embracing the joys of life.
  7. Perry Saturn’s one of about six people on earth who can work Scott Steiner that snug and not worry about reprisal…
  8. Right now; Jungle Boy. Mox. Malakai Black. Previous eras; New Age Outlaws, E&C, Sean Waltman, Dude Love, Owen.
  9. MJF, Spears, Brian Cage and Scorpio Sky is a good heel group, add Ethan Page and it’s perfect. Factions are a necessity when tv time is as limited as aew’s. Maximizes the amount of talent onscreen at any given moment.
  10. Thunder Rosa, to use a sports phrase, got hot at the right time. She damn near saved aews womens division during the pandemic when many of the women were injured or quarantined overseas. She’s been coasting a bit since then. I hope she beats Britt next week but she shouldn’t hold the belt too long.
  11. I am a wrestling fan today because I found Bret Hart/123 Kid on tv while flipping through channels at my grandmas house. That Hanger/Dante match gave me that same vibe. Not as long but a comparable story.
  12. Good God did that rule. The preshow was the best episode of Rampage in months. Kingston/Jericho was fire. It’s crazy how good Jericho is when he gives a shit. Kingston is stupid over. Just ridiculous. Well deserved. Not even the Jacksons could ruin this for me. That match kicked ass. Luchasaurus, for all his faults, is a phenomenal hot tag. Just awesome. Right team won. Ladder match was nuts. Absolute insanity. Ricky Starks has every tool one needs. That guy needs a title run this year. Wardlow is box office. Both young women tried really hard in that TBS title match. They have a better match in them. Dog collar match was a bit long, but was the best in ring story anyones told in a long while. I thought the other womens match wasn’t great. It’s time to get the belt off Britt. Mox/Danielson was glorious violence. William Regal coming out after like a disappointed vice principal was breathtaking. I loved it. Adam Page is a star.
  13. I'm hoping Redbeard sticks around. He showed shocking mobility for a man his size. They could use more hosses. Him and Brody King literally bumpin' meat popped me pretty hard.
  14. I mean, I like Booker T, but that feels like a pretty big downgrade.
  15. Man. Cody's been taken off the books for 'Mania. There's word coming out that Steve Austin hasn't agreed to come back. I can't think of any other Texans to plug in that spot of Kevin Owens talking shit about Texas.
  16. I fully expect Redbeard to turn on the other two and join House of Black.
  17. The guy who didn’t wear no mouthpiece…
  18. Listen, right now the "90 day no compete" is the biggest heel in wrestling. Why not use it?
  19. Preston Vance is a "Cody guy." Had several appearances on the reality show. Wouldn't shock me if they were attempting to keep him happy. Plus, you can't have too many guys with his size around...
  20. It’d be pretty dope if MJF fires Wardlow and enforces a 90-day “no compete.” Then you could show footage of Wardog just murking Indy guys at local shows for three months til the crowd is frothing at the mouth for him to get his hands on MJF. Maybe MJF gets Smart Mark involved to look for ways to keep Wardlow out of AEW, until Wardlow powerbombs Sterling through the crust of the earth. Wardlow finally gets his hands on MJF. Maybe the rest of the Pinnacle guys don’t get involved bc they don’t want any of Wardlow. It’s glorious murder. Wardlow is off to the races.
  21. He’s also tweeted about “putting the egos & politics aside” while stumping for a young bucks rematch. But I guess the Jackson’s aren’t interested if they can’t go over/make FTR look like idiots, so….
