  1. It has been a few weeks now and I'm sure Brock has had time to hired a private investigator, but I haven't been paying attention...so I need to ask you guys: has Brock gotten to the "bottom of it" since then?
  2. Oh yeah, .111 definitely wasn't my first time. I think found a way to beat the system, but I won't use the method now. One time I was disqualified for a false start because the time wasn't "humanly possible" or something. I'm on the juice.
  3. Just click: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/08/13/sports/olympics/can-you-beat-usain-bolt-out-of-the-blocks.html 0.111 so far
  4. Westbrook will put up some wild stats(both negative and positive), but I'm not buying him leading them into a top 3 or even 4 seed into the playoffs. OKC didn't just lose Durant this off-season. The points have to come from somewhere besides Westbrook, so I'm sure both Adams/Oladipo will improve their points per game averages this season, but I don't think scoring is their strong suit. I don't think it's going to be easy for them if someone important goes down; of course they could still make some moves. Good on OKC though, and it doesn't really matter why he signed the extension(interesting but not important), Russell bulletproof in OKC now. At least for a season or two...
  5. There was something off about the Bourne trailer. I didn't want to admit because Damon was back. It felt oddly dull and seem to just check-mark off all of Bourne's tropes like a list. The trailer was a letdown considering this was suppose to be big Damon's return.
  6. I wish they would have just bit the bullet and put Jon Stewart's Green Lantern in there instead of Cyborg.
  7. Back in the 90s. I was on a very famous TV SHOOOOOOOW Good so far... I watched the entire season 1 episodes of The Shannara Chronicles strictly because it was on Netflix. Bad acting, cheesy futuristic fantasy show...and I will be watching season 2. Strange.
  8. No superhero has a better theme song/anthem than Wonder Woman right now. Nobody. Don't try it. Theme gets me hyped. Gotta go run some laps now.

    MR. ROBOT

I'm a cynical bastard and even I can't believe this Shayla hate. I'll admit I thought her character was a little thin in the beginning but I thought once they made her his "girlfriend" after she gave her backstory and explain her interest in art, I was on board with the character. A lot of it is probably due to the actress, she played the character well especially considering the little scene time she had.

    MR. ROBOT

You watch your filthy mouth, EVA! They put up part 1 of the premiere online for a limited time. It's probably gone now. Go to the MR. ROBOT twitter page to check or other completely legal avenues.
  11. Look on the Whiteside, Josh Mann.
  12. I heard the Bulls offered a third year and Miami only offered two. Nothing official out there yet, aka "WOJ hasn't said anything about it yet". Anyway, I'm sure the respect thing is a factor too since they left him hanging and if they had signed Durant, they probably would have told him to suck it up or kick rocks. Plus, everyone and their mama kept saying he was bluffing. Edit: From WOJ: "Sources: No team offered Wade a guaranteed third season, including Miami."
  13. What were those 6 championship teams again? I'll spot you Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, and Cavs that year. After them, I got nothing. No way was Houston in there. OKC didn't make the playoffs. Atlanta? C'mon. Heat? Nope. I think that year is more on the few exception side of years than the rule. The majority of years probably 5 or less. Just look at the champion winners breakdown the last decade (Lebron, Duncan, Kobe show with Dallas/Boston/Golden State cameos). Even still (1) six out of 29 teams still isn't very high for parity sake and (2) one of the reasons there was that many contenders was due to free agency (Lebron going back to Cleveland). And for all the nostalgia about the old days when the old school players didn't leave their teams, there was probably even less parity. WADE TO CHICAGO THOUGH. Wade wanted his money. Don't blame him. He already has his rings. I don't know how the Wade/Rondo signings fit into Fred Hoiberg's offensive scheme...looks as if those plans were abandon. Haha.
  14. Double post. Here's an interesting fact to ponder: did you know beavers were once the size of bears? Facts.
  15. Yes, that's the exact chapter I had in mind when I made the post. It's uncomfortable. I definitely felt the desperate, frantic pace of his mind due to the narrator style used in the chapter. The whole Bam-Bam story arc is just rough. Very rough.
  16. The fact that the NBA is headlining sports news in July, I said JULY, over the 4 major sports (yes, even the NFL) tells me all I need to know about open free agency being bad for the league and the "hard cap" threats. Parity isn't the NBA. Lakers still haven't waived Nick Young by now? Is it a contract thing? I don't get it.
  17. Disagree. I believe plenty of people would be criticizing this hypothetical move. For Durant, any move that wasn't going back to OKC(the safe choice) would have been criticized. Even moving to your Spurs, who are usually bulletproof when comes to media criticism, would have generate some blow back.
  18. I didn't see it as the first option in that Spurs series. I would have to recheck the Warriors close games. I will say Presti is handling this lost much better than Dan Gilbert did...though that's not saying much.
  19. I'm still not buying the Westbrook number 1 option and/or being more important than Durant talk. I'm probably not as high on Westbrook as the rest of you. I still think they'll win games with their crew[they'll definitely going to need add some scoring options] and Westbrook having some out this world games along the way, but I don't think it's going to be easy for them and I can easily seeing Westbrook breaking down trying to do too much. I think the Bogut signing is alright until he eventually goes down. The Barnes signing is a gamble and I wouldn't want to put money down on Barnes becoming an all-star level player, but it's probably a gamble the Mavs had to do.
  20. Lebron going to Miami ended up being the right move imo; easy way out or not. I can't only imagine the Cleveland years if he had stayed. As for the next year, you still got to play the games, man. Yeah, on paper, they're clearly the most talent starting 5 (Iggy isn't probably starting but still), but it hasn't even been two weeks since the 73-9 team who people legitimately pencil in winning the championship the whole season lost a 3-1 lead to the team who was getting nothing but roasted by most media and fans throughout the year. Shit happens. Things change fast. Of course, I would bet on them being great next season, but I'm not sure I would take that next bet on both Durant and Curry's bodies holding up all season. I'm glad this happen because it makes the NBA more interesting and dramatic to me. All this huffing and puffing from people about the death of the NBA because superteam killing small market teams (sounds familiar and shout out to Cleveland), and even some saying they are done watching it anymore will likely be the first people ready to tweet and have their mocking memes ready to go when the Warriors go on any losing streak. Sport fans like watching the supposed it "bad guy/team" fail. Maybe even more than they like being self-righteous about players. You can book the highest ratings in years if the Cavs and Warriors face each other again in the Finals.
  21. I don't see KD ending up as with the Lakers. Didn't even take a meeting with them and he's already in California now. I'm not sure the Westbrook show in OKC is going to be pretty or last long. We saw a preview of it when Durant when down, and Thunder fell fast. Westbrook is a free agent after next season so OKC management will be desperate if they start slow next season. Maybe even open to trading him if it gets real bad.
  22. Haha, I never heard the loud, "Noooooooooooooo!" from that one guy in the crowd just before the first Seth Rollins chair shot on Roman. Hilarious.
  23. I definitely don't agree with Niners point of view on this, but I do think the pressure to win next season is going to sky high too, which adds another wrinkle. You have to remember that first magical Lebron/Bosh/Wade Heat season, where almost all of their regular season loses were magnified and final series lost to the Mavs lead to over-the-top mockery. It might not reach that level for Durant and Warriors since we already been through it before, but the vultures will be ready if they show any signs of less than excellence in their run next year. That's not easy.
  24. Of course, they are Dirk needs to sign with the Cavs.
