Impact Wrestling - 4/8/21: Thursday Premiere

Recommended Posts

Liked the Susan angle presumably leading to the return of Su Yung and a solid women's tag opener as well. Hoped there would be more of a stacked lineup for Hardcore Justice considering it was just coming together a few days away but still should be a fun show. Looking forward to Deonna/Jazz. the upcoming return of Taylor Wilde should be cool too. Enjoyed the main event which was the big focus of this week.

*Before the Impact Preshow Match: Jazz (w/ Jordynne Grace) def. Susan (w/ Deonna Purrazzo) (6:06) via pinfall after ramming her on to the steel steps which knocked Susan unconscious.

Impact Wrestling - April 8, 2021

*Havok, Jordynne Grace, & Rosemary (w/ Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus) def. Alisha Edwards, Nevaeh, & Tenille Dashwood (w/ Kaleb with a K) (7:42) when Rosemary pinned Alisha after the Red Wedding.

*Matt Cardona vs. Jake Something went to a no contest (5:05) when Brian Myers interfered and attacked both. After the match, Myers told Cardona that he accepts his challenge for a match at Rebellion.

*Sami Callihan & Trey Miguel def. XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D) (8:29) when Trey forced Larry to submit.

*Chris Sabin (w/ James Storm) def. Deaner (6:21) with the Cradle Shock. After the match, Eric Young appeared on the tron revealing that he and Joe Doering had taken out Chris Harris in the back. Rhino then appeared in the ring and hit the Gore on Storm while Deaner recovered and took out Sabin.

*Rich Swann, Willie Mack, & Eddie Edwards def. Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) (w/ Don Callis) (22:36) when Swann pinned Anderson with the Phoenix Splash

Well I missed the women's stuff so I'll have to go back and watch that.

Nothing really did much for me tonight (not even Swinger's Palace) but Tommy did say "BLIND GAMES -- In Your House." while looking at the camera (I think) so there was that

While I appreciate the booking that tries to make Rich look strong, it just telegraphs his loss at the PPV.  I am also bummed by the fact that whenever it is time for that trio to take a loss, it is Karl Anderson that continues to eat clean pinfalls.

I do not expect Kenny Omega to job at this stage of his AEW title run, but Is there something wrong with Luke Gallows that he cannot lie on his back for a three count?
