  1. Just for the record. This show did really well drawing 1800 fans for a Korakuen Hall show which these days barely any promotion besides New Japan or Dragon Gate can hit. That is really impressive as the place was legit packed. So you can't say they wasted money bringing The Headhunters in for two shows when the main show they were brought in and promoted for did really well. They looked good for their age and considering they were not that good 20 years ago. Also, this was not a one show thing. They have been promoting 2-4 shows every month since April and they will be returning to Korakuen in February due to this show being such a success. They created six man titles because every main event is pretty much a 6 man match which those matches are a lot more fun live than watching on tape.
  2. HASEGAWA has only been wrestling two years. He is just a guy that comes from a lot that became friends with Kanemura and the other Apache wrestlers. Gannosuke was blackballed from other promotions after a conflict with Kanemura from 05-07. Kanemura and his guys would get booked by promotions like ZERO1 and Big Japan while Gannosuke had to settle for Dradition. Kanemura lost all that power after his sexual harassment and Gannosuke started to get booked by Apache Army/ZERO1 after that but he retired at the end of the year anyway. Gannosuke and Kanemura are okay now though. Oya's finisher was the Backdrop Suplex and when he would team with Gannosuke they would have Gannosuke clothesline the guy while Oya delivered the Backdrop.
  3. San Antonio swept Memphis in 2013.
  4. Playing in a conference with a lot more worst teams and still having 6 less wins and not winning one series of note does not put you in the same class.
  5. Alright, I really did not want to post here and start shit but I have been following the basketball thread all year and reading your NUMEROUS claims all year with your Mavericks biased almost all of which I knew at the time would be wrong and ended up being wrong. Mavericks/Rick Carlisle won't be a easy playoff out, right? I figured I would just let Lawful Metal be the Houston Rocket fan representative on here but you guys are taking his fuck it attitude so literal. Golden State is by far the best team in the league and they will win the championship. The Rockets fall into that second level group with San Antonio, Clippers, Memphis, and Cleveland where if you put these teams in a 7 Game series the home court advantage team will probably end up winning it because they are all so close together and Golden State is going to beat every one of them. Chicago is not at that second level and all the teams I mentioned would beat Chicago in 5-6 games every time. Chicago and Dallas like New Orleans are a third level team. You can feel like a 100% Mavs team would have beat Houston but like all your other Mavericks biased opinions all year it is wrong. The Rockets went 3-1 against the Mavericks with all four games spread out through out the season, had a better regular season record through out the regular season besides one day in December, and then beat them in 5 with only one of those 1 of the 4 wins against Dallas even being close. Houston comparably better than Dallas as Golden State is better than Houston but just because Houston played like shit one game against the best team in the league doesn't mean your post isn't a joke by trying to use it as a way to say Dallas under any circumstances would have beat Houston who weren't exactly 100% either by the way in that series.
  6. Terrance Jones starts at the 4 with Houston.
  7. Just to be clear this promotion legally has nothing to do with the original FMW. That is why it is called Super Battle FMW. They didn't buy the FMW name from bankruptcy court, they didn't buy any of the FMW library or anything like that. So this will just be another promotion like Tarzan Goto's Super FMW promotion using the name to stand out. Battle Ranger who along with Hideki Takahashi (old FMW sales guy) that started this promotion is saying that this is promotion will be a continuation of FMW that ended in 2002 although that would be like if JT Smith started a new indy promotion in Philadelphia and said it was the first continuation of ECW since it closed down in 2001.
  8. You can watch League Pass online. I actually like it better on it
  9. I just meant that kayfabe is as dead in Japan as it is in the US. There's not even really that many heels in Japan at this point. Obviously this has not come from Kawada but the logical answer is the Tokyo Dome was more about the moment than the actual run with the belts. Finally beating Misawa for the titles which was something he had never done at the biggest show in the promotions history at the time.
  10. You haven't watched DDT if you think kayfabe is alive and well in Japan.
  11. The barbed wire is real and you are also dealing with explosions. Barbed wire can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing with it. But the explosions can be unpredictable and one of the explosions caught Onita's arm on fire for the 10/14/13 match which also spread to his face and leg. NOAH wouldn't have ever had an Explosion Death Match if they did not at least think that it would draw. I know they can be bad. I have seen them all, trust me I know they can be. I didn't even really like 3/21 like you did minus the two spots. Onita vs. Akebono 2/8/13 and Onita/Tanaka vs. Takayama/NOSAWA 10/14/13 are the only ones I enjoyed. But I was just making a point that they obviously still make money as they are going to be doing more for 2015 as you stated the gimmick had been killed in your original post and I was just stating that wasn't the case.
  12. Zero1 does not announce the crowd numbers for any shows other than when the 10/14/13 drew a sell out a crowd of 3500 so you could not tell if there was a boost or not. Even if Onita worked cheap if they weren't drawing they wouldn't still be paying for exploding barb wire and risking their guys going through a dangerous match let alone increasing the amount after two years.
  13. There is going to be one every month in Z1 in 2015 so whether the matches are any good or not they are still drawing.
  14. Shinya Ishikawa posted on his blog that he cheated on his wife and wanted to make his marriage work so he retired. Not some rumor I heard from some one else.
  15. After ten years since his debut, Garuda now looks to be retired from pro-wrestling after only wrestling one match in 2010 and with no bookings in sight. Garuda has found a regular job where he sells kimichi to food markets to support his wife and new child.
  16. He never said anything about them running during the day in Tokyo. None of those of shows were during the day. In fact every promotion besides Big Japan runs Sunday 12:00 shows pretty much.
  17. No update on Yoshihito. He shattered it pretty good. Probably sometime in 2015. I would be surprised if Takayuki Ueki will ever be anything other than comedy. His look and body are not a strong point of his. He has a toy gun gimmick right now where he threatens to shoot everyone in the ring.
  18. He got married a year ago and had been cheating on his wife. He wanted to make his marriage work. Some fans had been harassing his wife also
  19. Shinya Ishikawa announced he is retiring.
  20. Yes he had a stroke. Took him 21 months to be able to wrestle again. When I was hanging out with him at a bar last year he was mentally off. But that might have improved in the last year
  21. For those interested, I got the Shoichi Arai autobiography translated and posted on my site. http://bahufmw.com it's in the Bio's section.
  22. It's LONG. A lot of talking. Maybe Dailymotion will cut a lot out but the live feed it took over 40 minutes it felt like to get through.
