  1. No he didn't. You all are watching a different show apparently. He walked straight up to The Shield and held his own 3 on 1. Then he took a spear and kept going towards the ring. That doesn't make him look weak. That makes him look like a guy who will literally walk through anything to get what he deserves.
  2. O yeah... Teddy fucking Long was the only one clapping during Orton's entrance and that was also really really great. People are looking at the roster on the stage as a negative, but to me it makes Bryan look even stronger for standing up to the super group.
  3. You accused me once of hating on HHH and he was the best he has been in years tonight. There are about a billion comments worth disagreeing with in this thread and none of them have to do with Punk. Stop treating this like a house show! It's time to give the people something different.
  4. Will you man up for once and go off character. Punk's segment was awesome, but I need someone to help me champion the greatness of corporate HHH and friends. Rev is over here posting about turning off the show during the great opening segment and you are still bitching about Punk. Step up.
  5. I'm too drunk right now to read all 10 pages, but just the fact that there is 10 pages is awesome. Also, you all are a bunch of fucking marks and I love it. Never change. Everything from "b+" to "Shield Guys" was fucking brilliant and anyone who complained about it is even more of a mark than the rest of you are! Good god that was a great Raw. The Shield are positioned perfectly, Dolph gets an actual role, Show looked great and Bryan is Bryan (He can't be Stone Cold get over it). Just a bunch of great stuff that tied in with the main angle. HHH is finally back in the role he was born to play. The heels are actually getting a reaction for once and somehow half the people here are pissed about it. Everyone involved is set up to come out of it stronger. I also really like that they are keeping the Punk/Heyman thing separate. The potential for a Punk/Bryan super team is there. but it needs to be Bryan by himself for a while.
  6. It's funny that the wrestling audience was so conditioned that they didn't see the finish coming. I watched the show with a roommate who doesn't ever watch wrestling and that flying knee was so brutal he immediately said "that has to be it."
  7. Punk/Brock felt like a strong match of the year candidate. I would put it above Cena/Bryan, but that finish and post-match angle were awesome. Going to have to see it again, but I think I would put Punk/Brock over Cena/Brock. It was that good.
  8. Kyrie went full Uncle Drew the other day.
  9. That's twice you have marginalized this point. They have shown us absolutely nothing to support this idea of Bray being indifferent or "treating it like nothing." If he had absolutely no reaction to the Ring of Fire stip you might have a point, but Bray has embraced the idea. Perking up at every mention of it, laughing maniacally and a devilish grin is just about the opposite of "no selling." Those are significant character traits that double as build up for the actual gimmick of the match. I do agree with Bink that the Family should be afraid of Kane and the ring of fire, but not Bray. If they properly convey that, it will make the moment where they walk through the fire to help their fearless leader that much better. Harper is the key to that moment, as I feel he is miles ahead of the other family member.
  10. I see him more as a change of pace RB/FB who gets a few carries a game. Maybe one or two games with 5+ carries and a few games with 0. They successfully used Aaron Hernandez as a RB at times and surely Tebow can fill that role.
  11. They are selling those sheep masks now? That could look really cool down the line when Bray gains a little steam and they work their hot spots. I could totally see a crowd full of masks in Chicago or Brooklyn or somewhere like that
  12. What? That is exactly his character type. The Wyatt family was introduced as backwoods monsters under the thumb of a charismatic psychopath. Why does someone have to be afraid to care? They have clearly shown that Bray has an interest in Kane that goes beyond fear into some sort of twisted respect. Are you just missing the point of this whole thing? Edit: Also, it's refreshing to have this kind of character in the WWE again. It's like they had this huge drought where every scary/freakshow type of character was just god awful (Mordecai, Boogyman etc etc) and then they stopped debuting people like that. Wrestling needs the freaks. I can also see the Mankind/Taker parallels. Good call there, Jonny.
  13. I haven't seen enough to vouch for him as a wrestler, but the promo work seems brilliant to me. His inflection really sells some of those lines and the WWE clearly has faith in him as a talker. Hell, he even killed off the what chants, which even very good talkers like Mark Henry have struggled to do. There are countless examples of people who promo like they are reading from a script. Successful examples at that: Orton, Dolph, Del Rio etc. etc. Bray is just about the last person I would put in that group. Why should he sell fear of the Inferno match? Not all heels should be afraid
  14. I don't even know what this means. The dude is clearly more connected with his character than just about anyone else they have brought up recently.
  15. How bout you stop complaining and get to work on that GoT character tournament!
  16. This cracked me up. https://twitter.com/RandyOrton/following
  17. Funny thing is I think the STF is the most painful looking submission on the roster. It doesn't make any sense, because people always sell Cena's horrible hand clasp/neck squeeze while their leg looks like it's about to be ripped apart at the knee. It looks especially nasty in the big money matches with Punk, where they usually work a rope grab/cut off spot in. When he reapplies it after dragging Punk to the center of the ring it always looks like Punk's leg might just snap in half. They still play it off as an upper body submission, though, which is horrible.
  18. Are Firefly and Friday Night Lights still on Netflix? Those are both very different types of shows from the ones you listed. Great shows.
  19. At some point Heisenberg might have simply been a role Walter was playing, but I think we are well beyond it now.
  20. So Havard Rugland is going to beat out Akers right? RIGHT!? Only Lion worth rooting for.
  21. This is a stupid thing to argue, but the point everyone is trying to make to you is that Dwight hears worse every day. On twitter, face to face, on ESPN etc etc. Price of fame and all that jazz. That he actually responded to this girl and called her ugly is way more childish. You have been moving the goalposts, but your initial thought was that Dwight was in the right. He wasn't. He took the conversation from sports to personal. + her comeback was pretty good!
  22. Great article on Tyrann Mathieu: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/70814/tyrann-mathieu-and-two-sides-of-sports I will be rooting for the kid.
  23. That depends on the QB, but I will say that the Bears biggest problem in that Superbowl was our unwillingness to tweak the Cover 2. Peyton exploited us with 5 yard dump passes pretty much the entire game. The truly great QBs always picked Lovie's Cover 2 apart, but it didn't help that Tony Dungy was on the other sideline. I will always remember that Superbowl for the mark out moment I had when Hester returned the opening kickoff.
  24. Season 2 is definitely underrated. I'm glad Nick Sobotka has another good gig now with Orange is the New Black. I would still rank them 4 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 5
