  1. Yeah, with Romero he's the guy with all the gifts who doesn't quite show up throughout the duration of his fights. When he's dialed in he may murder GSP but I could see GSP combining movement and a jab (regardless of reach issues) and Romero passively letting him do so for too long. Jacare would likely just maul him in a brutal fashion, and I think everyone involved knows this. That is why I'm kinda cautious about what the fallout will be should GSP win as would they allow that fight to be made even if he ends up being the legit top contender?
  2. My thought, beyond how much this sucks for all the top fighters at middleweight, is what happens if GSP wins which I think is a legit possibility. Him moving up to fight Bisping, who is a weight class bigger and champ but has traditionally been about the #7-10 guy in the division, is one thing. Him having to fight any of the other top four guys in the division is something else entirely. What does he even do against say Jacare? I'm not entirely sure he sticks up at 185 for that in which case chaos. I get the whole money fight mentality and won't argue against it from a business perspective, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss the days when the titles were less subject to the whims of them. 145, 155 and now 185 are just looking like messes.
  3. The turnbuckle exploding really should have been the finish to the Braun/Roman match at Fastlane as it'd give Braun an impressive win while protecting Roman with the whole "the turnbuckle came loose and nearly decapitated him" deal.
  4. So basically it depends entirely on how one holds the controller, and is unlikely to be fixed via an update as it would hurt the battery life. That's... not great, but fortunately Nintendo does hardware revisions from time to time.
  5. In newer Switch news, there seems to be moderately widespread issues with the Switches given out to reviewers in terms of the joycons randomly unsyncing from the system during Zelda and in the system menus. Kinda hope that is something they can fix with a day 1 patch as if not... that could qualify as very bad.
  6. Online is supposed to be free until the fall or so, so it is possible that certain features may also not be up until then. I assume the important parts will be, that should be enough for launch. The Shovel Knight deal is that moving forward the previously included free DLC (Plague of Shadows, Specter of Torment) will instead be sold separately on their own. The Treasure Trove edition hence is the main game (Shovel of Hope) bundled with those two DLC episodes. I think people who previously bought the base game on other platforms still get the DLC for free. BTW, one can go register their new Nintendo Account ID thing for the Switch and conceivably other Nintendo products going forward now. It isn't the same as the previous ID for... reasons but they are seemingly linked. I'm trying to arrange the rest of the games I'm playing to be done by next Friday so I am free to explore the Wii U version of Zelda. Should be fun!
  7. My worry with these cuts is that they seem to be aimed more at the middle of the roster than the low end. If you are a star you are safe, if you are a lower end fighter but on a cheap contract you are likely somewhat safer, but if you are someone in the middle making a bit of money (or in line to make more) then you are seemingly the most vulnerable. That approach makes sense short term but would carry legit long term risks, and if they want to commit to that sort of... reverse bell curve distribution then they likely need to focus some more energy on fighter development or at least identification. I fall in the "cutting Bader is fine, losing two of your only light heavy prospects is bad" camp. If Corey Anderson doesn't develop into something then the level of young talent in the division is grim as opposed to "just" poor.
  8. I mean, I'm not convinced either of them can survive beyond the scope of their tag team. Cass was blowing his own finish a few weeks back lest we forget.
  9. It is worth noting that I'm sure UFC would be glad to keep Bader around at what they perceive to be a reasonable salary. The issue is less "this guy sucks, let's get rid of him" and more that the two sides just disagree over what he is actually worth. I agree they'd be better of having him around, light heavyweight is probably the thinnest division in the company. That said I wouldn't pay him like a star.

    30 For 30

I'm not sure what his share was in the Evil Knievel Snake River Canyon debacle, but I'd wager he lost a few bucks on that as well.
  11. Yeah, bundling Zelda with the thing would just be throwing money away. Not bundling it with 1-2-Switch is probably lunacy though.
  12. I mean, Barkley's height didn't hold him back much when he was playing in a rather center-dominant era. It'd likely matter less now given how many teams can and do play small. Now his terrible three point shooting, that would be a much more significant factor. Of course then you get into the whole "players from a different era would prepare differently for different rules and environment" thing that only ever results in headaches.
  13. The funny part in all of this is that this happened to happen the time when Barkley's criticism was more than fair. Lebron is playing with several all stars and a ridiculous payroll, hate it or not that makes it fair game to call one out when all they've said for the past bit is "but I/we need more". There is good odds that Barkley would have said something worthy of that vitriolic of a comeback by next week.
  14. 90% of the roster left en masse and formed NOAH?
  15. My biggest worry regarding the Switch's processing power isn't the upper figure, but the difference between docked and undocked. The story out is that undocked it either loses 40% of its power or is only running at 40%. If, like many indie games, you are only looking at that lower figure then it makes no difference. If you are a bigger company that is looking at the higher figure... it suddenly becomes complicated. Nintendo will bother with it as they made it that way, but I worry that it will scare others off.
  16. I mean, I paid $150+$20 S&H for a used Wii U with Mario 3d World, Bayonetta 1 & 2 and Sonic Kart DL'd onto the thing (even threw in a disc copy of Mass Effect 3) over the weekend, so trust me when I tell you it is possible. You may have to dig a bit though.
  17. The price of new Wii Us is insane given that it is more or less discontinued. That said, if you are willing to go the used route you can get one with a few games (usually DL'd onto the thing as Nintendo's downloadable game process is... unique) for a bit under two bills.
  18. I mean... I'm sure you see the obvious thing that sticks out. If you are that intrigued there's really no reason to wait, heck Disgaea 5 even has a free demo. I think Nintendo will bother to bring over Mother 3 at some point only because if they don't I then have no clue why they bothered bringing over Mother 1. As far as Metroid goes... I played Other M. Perhaps we are better of without.
  19. Thank you, that was enough info for me to track down a salvaged version of the write-up Phil put up on prowrestlingonly a few years back. If anyone else wanted to read it, faulty formatting and all. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/18571-fabulous-freebirds-badstreet-vs-young-pistols-dustin-rhodes-wcw-saturday-night-061591/#entry5541937
  20. As a heads up on Bomberman, multiple hands on reports say that it is very hard to play in tablet mode as the screen is just too small for the playfield size they went with. If you are just gonna play on the tv then go nuts, but it was one of the announced games that seemed best suited for the "bunch of people gathering around the tablet" mode and apparently that just is not the case at all.
