  1. Wolves fired Kenny Jackett today. Which I'm not sure if it's the first firing of next season, or the last firing from last season.
  2. So the best British Wrestlers in history are Davey Boy Smith and William Regal, are they? I bet this pillock couldn't name six British Wrestlers if you offered him $100.
  3. If I was compiling a list of 'Best Pro-Wrestlers who started out on reality TV' I would have Miz behind Jesse Godderz.
  4. Why did Orlando fire Heathy? Are they going to fire Pulis jr from the youth team coach spot as well, and break all the old ties to Stoke City? (nb: When Orlando signed Kaka, some Stoke fans celebrated because they thought that meant he'd be coming to the Britannia on loan during the MLS offseason. Which didn't happen, and was probably never even suggested by anyone, and doesn't need to now because Stoke are stacked with attacking midfielders already)
  5. I play games more than once for the same reason I re-read books. Although arguably games can be better because (depending on the game) it's not always the same story.
  6. To get the Platinum, you need to get every trophy in the game, AT LAUNCH. DLC trophies don't count. But you need all the online ones before the Heist update; Most people are missing either the "Win in all Competitive Game Types" one, because they never won Tennis or Arm Wrestling or something*, or the "Win a Rally Race as co-Driver" one, because fuck Rally Races, or the "25 Platinum Awards", or "Do Everything Once". But yeah, if you've got all the online-only trophies already (I got all of them without really noticing, but I'm a completionist) the story mode ones are much easier. * If you've unlocked the Angel tattoo on your back, you've done this. Which is why my character wears that tattoo, and shows it off. Because 4% of GTA online players have it.
  7. Isn't it odd that even though most of your crew-mates in ME2 are either long-term Cerberus, or joined Cerberus to stay with Shepard, every last one of them has left and turned babyface by the time ME3 starts? Wouldn't it have been a bit more interesting if there'd been someone down in Engineering or something who was a Cerberus true believer? Someone who stayed Cerberus in ME3 and you'd meet them late in the game while you were taking the Illusive Man's base... they could beg for their life, or try to tell Shepard it's not too late to rejoin and help the Illusive Man take over the galaxy. Be an interesting wrinkle to things, anyway.
  8. They're a bit harder to lose offline, yeah. But there's an art to not losing them as well, isn't there?
  9. I was reading the new Empire magazine at work (it was a slow day) and there was an article about Luke Cage. Apparently some of the villains in the show are: Could be interesting.
  10. I got Three Man Army by having the three of them go drinking together, then driving past the police station until some cops noticed. Franklin's Buffalo, fully modded (with 100% armour), with Franklin's special to get out of any potential tricky situations is all you need. And they sober up pretty fast so you don't need to worry about crash damage.
  11. It could have been worse. They could have had Lawler.
  12. I turned 20 in 1994. So that probably has a lot to do with it. It's odd, because the general consensus is Ric Flair's best year in the ring was '89, when he was 40. But in most pro athletic contests, you're an old man at 33.
  13. Not a very flattering angle on the Costa pic. He looks like his ears are growing out of his neck, and it's exaggerating his jawline to the points he's a couple of tusks away from this:
  14. Watching AJPW from 1994 on the youtubes. Baba is teaming with Hansen against Kawada and Taue (in the tag league)... watching this stuff 20+ years ago, Hansen seemed old as the hills, way older than the other guys in the company (meaning Misawa's generation). I just checked and he was only 45 at the time... which did make him ten-ish years older than Misawa and Kawada were. But 45 doesn't seem old now, the way it did then.
  15. They're just happy to be there. Do not like. They've buggered the back up as well: You know when a company is in the last year of a kit deal that they know isn't going to get renewed? That's when shit like this happens.
  16. Is there anyone who does Akira Taue's moves? The Atomic Drop Slam, the spinning rocket launcher Chokeslam, that 'Put your head on my hip, then swing my leg up and stomp the ground' thing Baba used to do... chops to the top of the head, even. It's odd, everyone wants to do Misawa's moves, or Kawada's moves, or Kobashi's moves, or Akiyama's moves (and Steve Williams' & Johnny Ace's too), but even though Taue is in all of those tag matches (and singles matches), everyone looks through him.
  17. So, there was a RAW where the monsters got squashes, the important matches went long and had clean finishes, nobody was pointlessly emasculated by any McMahons... and lots of people really liked it. Preferred it to what the show is usually like, even. Do you think the company will learn from this at all? Or are we going back to every match finishing by a schoolboy after the babyface is distracted by someone else's entrance music in a week or so?
