  1. 16 is kinda what I wanted it to be but didn't know how to ask. It's like the newer Y's games* combat and cinematography with Witcher 2 graphics and Naughty Dog presentation. Also reminds me of Bayonetta. Exploration has been lame thus far. I've only beat the wind lady am I still in the boring opening? I feel this game resonates with Y's 8, particular with that lame part with the Jack the Ripper shit. I had heard the Game of Thrones comparisons and while I think it's still hewing closer to Witcher 2 & 3 it is definitely undeniable. What is really surprising me is how much it feels like Final Fantasy 6. Like the way the music will come in while people are talking. My take on the graphics is that it runs like Witcher 2 on a shitty card. Small area one on one fights have great framerate on performance mode but if it's just you walking around and rotating the camera simultaneously chugs. Y'also get that shit where you can see distant enemies running at a lower framerate. I'll tell you it looks great but I won't tell you I don't think it wouldn't look better if it wasn't also not on PC right now. Maybe that did make sense. I bought my PS5 at swillmart 'bout a week ago. This was the game I bought. I didn't have any major hype and to be quite honest only saw that e3 trailer a couple years ago. Now I really got my ps5 for Spidey 2 but it also crossed the threshold of 5 games that make me want to buy the console.** * a series I consider "must play" in this day and age. ** new god of war, horizon and Tsushima (kinda same situation as FFXVI where I just don't want to wait for the eventual STEAM release) I've already played Tsushima up to the second area on ps4 and assume I can transfer my progress. I bought the first one digital and want to get a disc for the ps5 version. It's a 30 dollar upgrade for me digital so I'm peeping out used copies. Hell, now the only reason I'd get Ratchet and Clank is if it was a 15 dollar disc version.
  2. Who ranks higher on the Hyacinth Bucket scale: Mai Sakurai or Saori Anou? also Generational struggle 2: not as good but had better after-match setup. 0ver the top rope elimination should henceforth be referred to as the Rossy-finish. I do have a question. Was there a stream or way to watch that Kobashi show that had Team 200kg vs Minoru Suzuki and Akiyama? Follow up; I know Senjo has a massively staggered release schedule but what about Chihiro and Poi on Sunday? Will that be on stardom world? Did that Himeka thing at Wave happen?
  3. Yuna vs Hazuki: Y'know that Heaven is a place on Earth song? This is what they was talkin' about. I wanna see that as yet unnamed Maika trio challenge for the Artist belts.
  4. 6/9 Stardom: COOL VENUE. Hot crowd even though it looked like a TJPW turnout. How loud would that place be near capacity?
  5. I'm still not sure if this is Nintendo published but it's Goodfeel who've done a few projects for them. Looking like Goemon spiritual sequel. Looks like it might be Odyssey engine but this game has scant English info. Don't know if it's tied to a license that'll keep it import-only. Looks good.
  6. What's your setup going to be? Actual sitting at a desk use? Monitor or just a bigass TV? Do you have games in mind you want to run in high resolution/framerate? VR headset potential? Are you going to assemble or buy premade? Premade I have no advice. Are you going complete from scratch i.e you need a display/keyboard/mouse/gamepad? My keyboard suggestion is cheapo logitech (sub-20 bucks). Gamepad I suggest 8bitdo SN30 pro+ That is a SNES style with PSX dualshock analog and wings with R2 Triggers. I don't really like trigger shoulder buttons but you can't always avoid them. My favorite controller is Wii U pro. If you have to have 360 layout the 8bitdo Ultimate has extremely positive buzz. I also use their NES Advantage looking arcade stick. Be forewarned, if you plan to upgrade the stick the case has very shallow depth. I had to remove both weights and skive out a bit of the bottom and it still doesn't quite shut all the way. This was for a Seimitsu. Might not be an issue anymore. Mouse I have a logitech G600 and wish I had my old G5. I HATE how many thumb buttons it has. I have just used bigass TVs for my display and still see no reason to buy a monitor. My TV is Samsung UN50J5000 50-Inch I bought refurbished back in 2016 for 398 bucks. LOVE IT. No smart TV bullshit at all. Reciever is Denon AVR S740H. I was at 7.1 but my two oldest speakers crapped out and now I just have 5.1. Probably more than I need even 8+years later. My PC is my hi-fi. Plan your build around what you are actually going to play and your display's native resolution. There aren't a ton of really bleeding edge new games and probably even fewer of those you'll actually put time in on. Your rig can't always overcome a lazy port. Have a plan. At least 5 games you are really chomping at the bit to play. Some of those PS4 games were dogs and some had nice ports. Horizon was suposedly a great port but I already beat it. Days Gone is one of those sleeper games where people coming to it now are really enjoying it. Didn't play it on PS4 or PC myself. My basic advice is PCpartpicker.com Start with CPU and GPU and individual budget choices then build around what those need. It should lead you to compatible parts. People also have their buildlists to peruse. My other suggestion is get a giant case. Modular PSU and nothing but SSD hard drives 16gb minimum Ram. Have your smallest SSD as just your OS and farmer five programs. Have room for expandability but know that you probably won't make any major revisions to your PC. Do try to get all your parts at once. If you slowly piece together components you'll end up letting the budget and scope creep. Don't put much stock in rebates, they end up being a huge ballache. Nowadays I would also use an Amazon locker if possible for the really high dollar parts. If only to keep shit from getting rained on. On th' other hand don't totally dismiss ordering direct from manufacturers sites. The only brands I can think of are Samsung for the SSDs and EVGA for the GPU. I have no experience with AMD or Intel GPUs. I have no experience with NVMe. On my current build I'm using an all-in-one watercooler from Corsair. My understanding is that regular ass Coolermaster 212 fans are more than fine today. I bought a 1080ti back in 2017 and I really don't feel I need to upgrade even now. I probably need to build a new PC within a year so I will end up doing that though. I remember thinking I wanted to get a 2080 whenever Dying Light 2 was originally going to come out February '20 and all those RTX ray tracing cards were first coming out. Didn't need to do that! Older doesn't necessarily mean cheaper and more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. There seems to be a sweet spot where really good stuff starts getting cheaper but then they get discontinued and prices blow up. Not even in reaction to a great demand either.
  7. Okay, so I'm watching the 6/10 show and I'm like "who the hell is this old guy teaming with Ogawa" Then I go look it up and he's Fujinami's son. I was open minded but guy is a schlub. Were they just fucking with this guy? Looks more like one of the true heirs to the von Wolfhausen brewery. He's makin' Ogawa look like Jim Breaks. Then I looked up Jim Breaks for the first time in a while. What the hell. Also, Kenoh VS Nakajima: These guys had 16-bit Mortal Kombat sweat. People in the front row had garbage bags on.
  8. Generational War 2: WOW (also Wow, I don't know what the fuck they're saying at the end. I was vaguely able to understand something about an elimination match and Mirai is in for Utami) 5.20 show was also a miracle on Earth. Koguma/Mariah May was like seeing the inside of Jerry Lawler's mind. Like that 3D part in Freddy's Dead. Utami was doin' some HBK selling. I would say nobody was dogging it on the show but Jessie buzzed in and crop dusted the room. The stink dissipated quickly though. That match gets an instant billion snowflakes because Ami Sohrei did the puff out her cheeks at 2.9 bridge.
  9. The Fraternal Order Of The All – Greetings From Planet Love Album blew me away. Andrew Goldman doin' a Dukes of Stratosphear deal. Heavy Beatles(Revolver), Beach Boys(Smile), Nilsson sound. Way more California than the Dukes. There's an awesome hybrid Byrds/Monkees deal. Faux Doors song that could've been on Dr Demento. King of Showbiz is a Wax song but fits in. Kind of more Donald Fagen Nitefly sounding. Some of the Synth strings don't hold up to close scrutiny but the tunage is amazeballs. I just used amazeballs and meant it. Awesome Bob Dylan impersonation. Best fake Beatle stuff I've heard since I found out about Emitt Rhodes. Check him out if you like a real specific Pre-India McCartney era. Namely Rubber Soul up to Lady Madonna area. Last album is more like post-'94 Warren Zevon. Very bitchy, very romantic. Another great in the style of studio project was LEO Alpacas Orgling. The only dude I recognize on it is Andy Sturmer from Jellyfish. AMAZING ELO ripoff record. Fucking nailed it. For New World Record through Time fans.
  10. Is there any buzz about the gameplay? Anything I look up is either old or somebody playing 2k23.
  11. 'bout two months ago Yuna had that singles match with Tam out of nowhere. I suspect that was the secret tryout. The Red and White belts are going to be combined and IWGP won't feel unnecessary anymore. This is probably why Giulia's reign was so short. That IWGP belt has just been a real bugbear from the start. For me it has about 10% legitimacy at this point. Dudes like Mone and Kairi that aren't really touring just don't ignite me at all. Ruaka smashing the masks on Natsuko's robe was the coolest thing in the whole Cinderelly tournament. They're still broken which adds to the cool factor. Or maybe they're just cheapasses. The least cool thing was when they blew that Thekla/Xena DREAM MATCH for no god damned reason. With a clean finish too! They were doing weird fuck finishes all over the place and that was where you needed a clear winner? DISAPPOINTED. That MomoTora promo on the New Eras after the title match was brutal. Then again, those babies should be hacked off when they couldn't even be on the main show in Yokohama. I kinda like when the crowd agrees with the heels. This is even more strange because at this point I'd say God's Eye is the strongest faction. They are must see TV. They should finally bring in Inaba full time. Hopefully we can get past the Ami Sourei weird extensions period quickly and quietly. Mei Seira is looking like a damn million bucks. I never saw her before Yokohama. Every thing she does is fresh as a motherfucker. She's in there making Thekla look like she just ate a greasy Rueben. She could be the High-speed member of God's Eye. Whole damn unit is like when you play NBA 2K and trade all the good guys onto your favorite team. Then there was that 4/30 tag match against Kamitani and Azumi. God DAMN what a kitchen-sinker. It also demonstrates the true art of the time limit draw. You want that bell to ring and still be pumped up. Not feeling like they had to stretch and pad and stretch and pad. What exactly is going on with Suzu Suzuki? Her title card had the basic Stardom thing where her faction would be. Then, she had a Prominence logo. Then, back to neutral. They can just bring in Kurumi and license that awesome theme song. Couldn't give a shit a bout Risa and the rest. Sorry. That Prominence theme kicks ass! It's like some PS1 Megaman X shit with a little faux Michael Schenker solo. Mariah May on commentary reminded me of Kevin Nash. I think that is good? Is she going to fight Mayu Iwatani? Felt like they were building that. I think Mariah is undefeated in Stardom. Has she been pinned? I don't recall it. Mai Sakurai's gimmick is like if Lanny Poffo and Rick Rude were foodie vloggers. If she's writing her own shit and getting all the regional details it's awesome. If somebody else is just checking the first page of search results it's still pretty good. Her top rope elbow drop looks amazing. It looks like she weighs 5 tons. But when she starts fucking up late in a match she just can't recover. Mina's promo against Tam was like if Vicki Lawrence had old time anime potty-mouth subtitles. Awesome. Jessie: Just north of the shits but firmly at the bottom of my power index. I'll take it back if she is actually a secret spy for DDM. Rookie report: Hanako: Easiest to love but she seems to have regressed a bit. She dumped Xena like a sack o' taters and I really thought they were going to end it on that small package audible. That was a "pooky is done" moment iffin there evern was. Aya: Dull as dishwater but probably will end up being the better of the 3(?) Starting to show a glimmer of charisma. Minami Komomo: Had to look it up. Injured about two months ago. Was going to debut against Hazuki. I'm thinking either they are waiting a little longer and bringing her in with a mask or she washed out. Finally, did anyone else hear that first elbow Maika laid on Kamitani at Fukuoka? WOOF. That sounded like distant artillery fire. Had to rewind. Her new look is for fans of Delta Burke, SNK and puissance. Better do one for Giulia too. Her new look is for fans of Cyndi Lauper, Mad Max and concession stand brawls. Hold on, lemme do one for Utami. For fans of Rob Schneider, Kingdom Hearts and crap. Sorry, but she's got to be my least favorite on the main roster. Actually, I lied. I'm not sorry. Queens Quest has no cohesion. Get Lady C and AZM the hell out of there.
  12. Ami Sourei's wig has GOT to go. Can't believe Nanae didn't just rip that critter off. What in the damn hell is that thing? They need to stick it back in the wardrobe closet with Natsupoi's weird mop hair. Is Konami gone again now? I liked her UWF match with Syuri better than the Hashimoto match. Now, if somebody does the Contra Code on Konami do they get thirty lives or instantly self destruct? All that Fuwa-chan stuff went over like a wet fart in a dry county in this household. I wanna see Thekla built up for a title shot at Mina. That's the big match for November.
  13. Everspace 2 is getting a most highest recommendation from me. You'll go into an area, blow up some badguys, then it's just peaceful exploration. Yer just billions of miles away and nobody's buggin' you. Kinda reminds me of Warhawk on PS1. Y'know, that third level where you fly into the big battleships. It's not really a dogfighting game. More 6DOF UFO loot-RPG. It's striking a real good balance making sure I'm finding new shit without over or under feeding me. Sometimes it feels like you are in a long, sustained Star Trek TNG cold open. You'll be going around a big asteroid all warily and thinking Picard thoughts.
  14. Kurumi is the true High Speed champion. I was doin' that Dave Letterman Uma/Oprah bit when she was fighting with AZM.
  15. I HATE Momo Kohgo's new ring gear.
  16. Just saw 3/12 Stardom. First off, I didn't think 7uppp's triple steamroller from the Triangle Derby would be topped in the same month. Then I saw BMI 2000's Boston centipede steamroller in the triple threat tag match. Tons of cool team moves all over this show. Ruaka leveled up at Korakuen. That was probably more like one o' those ones where you level up but then the bar keeps going and you level up twice. Miyu Amasaki leveled up after 2/23 vs Yuna. She looked nervous in a couple matches this year. Then there was that durned insane bump Mai took off the top rope. What the hell was that? That was like when you're watching an old PG movie and someone drops an F-bomb out of nowhere. Lady C with the pineapple sunglasses goes in the baby book. That triple threat opener with Ram and Yuna was awesome. Perfect opener.
  17. So was Himeka's knee fucky after that apron dive or was that just a work? That match was gettin' me goin' then just kinda petered out even though I love 7upp. They had been building Ruaka and Nanae for a wee bit though. I feel like Saki Kashima is probably gearing up for her retirement as well. ON the other hand what in the hail happened to SLK vs AZM? Callin' BSHT. For me, Konami coming in and beating my baby was a major no-no. I felt like that "rip off" guy in the crowd at the beginning of Strange Brew. I want Jungle Kyona to come back more. Lady C was amazing in that Maebashi main event. That was a great match. Whole finish had me going. Himeka and Suzu Suzuki were getting the biggest reactions from the crowd. It was like everybody had a free wallop of courtesy juice but the true babies got the real stuff. Roulette match was weird. Buncha fluff then Tora and the bubble girl had the best Bugs Bunny/Yosemite Sam cartoon I've seen in years. It was like if Leon Schlesinger pulled an all-nighter with Jacque Tati and Takashi Kitano. The Billiken Death stuff would've went way over my head if I hadn't seen that Club Venus in Osaka youtube deal. He's like Azar's Big Boy with lucky rabbit foot powers. I'm bowdlerizin' but not far off the mark. There were two little hope spots where Yuna was going to grab for the foot that will just blow by the layman. He's USA in origin and part of whatever sacred fire brought us the Kewpie doll. Yes, I had to look that up. Giulia got the sheeit beat out of her (again) and it was good(again). She's low on the lovability chart for me but high on the reliability chart. Big ol' goose egg on the forehead. OBviously I'm rooting for Suzu. I mean dude, come on, that tippy top-rope German suplex was radiant. I need that damn Street Fighter 2 t-shirt she has but it seems like it's mostly just weird scam sites that have it nowadays. I mean who in the damn hell didn't think Mirai wasn't going to get completely laminated? Hashimoto coming in with that Spike the Dog physique. Lordy Jesus. That was some wildlife footage. Kamitani was over like a wet fart. Momo was into a pure violence that I had not seen from her yet. I feel like the true heels suffered the most from no cheering. You can't clap a boo. Well, you could... Thekla was in supreme highlight reel mode on January 28/29 shows. The exorcist bridge into the kuma pose was the greatest thing in the universe. Obviously done dirty in that roulette deal but what are y'gonna do? I'm going back into hiding until new shows release on stardom world. I'm also way into that Senjo stuff as well. Thank you, fuck you etc.
  18. For fans of scintillating chops.
  19. Lady C's carryin' the team in this Triangle Derby. She had a stealth singles match with Utami and this was full on kitchen sink stuff. That should've been the main event on New Blood 7. Speaking of, why is it every time I see Karma she stinks on ice and fucks up the flash paper? Why even use it? Gimmick sucks.
  20. 1.15.2023 Osaka Three way tag battle. They just beatin' the damn dogshit out of each other. This was Itchy and Scratchy level comedy. Syuri's kicks sounded like a spud gun. Kawada X Gallagher (RIP) Crowd is a billion times better than the night before (we said our goodbyes)
  21. 1.14.23 Osaka 7uppp vs. those Prominence bastards: This is the stuff dreams are made of. Also feels like 1.09 is way better than 1.08. Special tag match had me snoozin' and Ami blew her big opportunity yet looked great the next night. Club Venus girls are finally starting to get into a groove. Xia was lookin' like she was under water on those first couple of shots. Somethin' else was AKINO, Ayako Sato & Rydeen Hagane vs. Kyoko Inoue, Leon & Sonoko Kato on that 60th anniversary Korakuen Hall show. That was gettin' me goin'! My ass was dismissive but tolerant at first thinkin' this was gonna be some wimpy old-timers' day deal. NOPE
  22. Things I wanna see in Stardom this year: Thekla vs SLK, possibly for High Speed title. Mina interferes on Kamitami's next defense. Saya loses the belt and the whole thing leads to a cage match. MaiHime start massive reign. I'm talking fire and brimstone old testament type stuff. They can stop doin' that powerbomb superplex thing. How is that a tag team move? She's powerbombin' Maika! Koguma beats Yuu in singles competition. Double blade job. More violent Hazuki. Waka teaming with Nanae and becoming monster heels. New damn looks for Ruaka, Natsuko and Hanan. Their in-ring has also been waaay stagnant. Get BMI 2000 some old Seikima II and X Japan records and have 'em go spend a weekend watching Cyber Ninja and drinking beer. Get rid of that damn old lady Rufio cut. Momo becomes leader of Oedo Tai. Lady C fighting those new Venus Club girls. Saya Iida starts bushwhackin' fools in earnest again. Is it too late to get Saki Kashima some Spike Dudley or, dare I say it, Jack Evans tapes? MORE Suzu Suzuki and Yuna Mizumori. LESS of that damn slow ass old referee. Dude stinks. He's always out o' position and sandbags counts. Guy is a turd. I still don't understand how the IWGP women's belt doesn't dilute the Stardom Red Belt? What is the thinking here?
