Since we're sharing, I was raised Catholic myself, but became an atheist in my early teens when I realized how shaky the tangible evidence for this whole "God" thing is. As I age, though, I've come to have more appreciation for the core values of Christianity (as opposed to the repressive nonsense that's become attached to it in so many people's minds). I can't really call myself a Christian, though, because that word means you believe this one dude who lived a couple of thousand years ago was LITERALLY GOD, and I suspect that would sound crazy to me even if I weren't an atheist. Maybe I'm a Jesusist? At any rate, giving the Bible a good read-through is on my to-do list, though I expect I'll skip the "begats" section. The Quran and other major religions' holy texts too.

No worries. My follow-up post was just a semi-apology that I don't know the Bible well enough to keep the joke going.
-
Fair enough. I'll confess I was talking out of my ass for the sake of a joke - I haven't read much of the Bible beyond the Four Gospels. Heck, I can't remember for certain whether I've seen Ten Commandments either.
-
Yes. Perhaps I can tie things together by suggesting The Ten Commandments is better than the Bible.
-
Why would they do that? The format of the Rumble makes it easy to get everybody on the show without cramming it full of matches and making it a slog to get through.
-
Yes. Even as a kid, when I saw it that I didn't think "Man, Hawk is tough", it was "Huh, I guess piledrivers don't actually hurt". Horrible spot.

Doesn't the Academy like pretentious nonsense, though?- 2,183 replies

Every time this is the most recent thread in the gaming forum, I see "RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 SING..." on the main page and I think it must be the RDR2 Singalong Thread. I am perpetually disappointed.
-
Huh. I wasn't actually expecting there to be a rational explanation. Thanks.

I picked this up on Boxing Day, and I like it so far. I have to ask, though: does anybody know why they included the ability to dress Sasha Banks up as Maryse?

He came across as a rambling, senile old man. Which I suppose doesn't contradict your statement.

The Marvel Things That Aren't "Marvel" Things

Just saw Into the Spiderverse. It may have been TOO awesome. There were times I couldn't handle the awesome because my brain was still processing the previous awesome. Of course, I'm a giant Spider-Man nerd. For most people I'd imagine it was just awesome enough.- 2,183 replies

I'm curious what those three matches were.
-
"Televised" is an important caveat, of course. Mandatory rematches after a title change has been a rule since at least the '80s, but I believe they usually happened on the next house show circuit.
-
I don't blame you for trying to blot them from memory, but Asuka did in fact get title shots at back-to-back PPVs.
-
It all comes back to Irish Whips, of course. Lethal sets up the Injection by whipping them into the ropes in just the right way to make them bounce off the ropes, then stumble forward after taking a few steps.
-
Wait, do those exist? Asking for a friend.
-
Sounds like that Christian vs Chris Jericho match at WMXX that people inexplicably liked.

Marvel Cinematic Universe - 2019 and Beyond
tbarrie replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in "COMIC BOOK" MOVIES & TV
I think we're arguing about different things. I'm perfectly happy to have Marvel Studios take over the X-Men film franchise. (Is there a chance of that not happening? Will Fox continue to be a separate studio under the Disney banner?) But you don't have to merge the universes to do that. -

They can always use interdimensional shenanigans to do crossovers. Sure, but that's a function of the creative teams behind the films, not a question of which fictional universe they're set in. -

If. But the X-Men aren't Spider-Man; the X-titles have generally had their own corner of the Marvel Universe to play in. And frankly, I think the concept works better if mutants are the only superbeings around. I don't see any pressing reason to bring them in. -

The question of whether they were joking aside, the Iron Man who participated in Secret Wars wasn't even Tony. Has Don Cheadle said he's finished playing Rhodey? And neither character was all that essential to the plot, with Iron Man being less essential than Cap. -
I believe you mean set in "the amazing years to come".

Since this seems to be the thread for the Telltale Batman series as well, does anybody know if it's still possible to buy them?
