  1. Not a good way to book a major title match on your major PPV event. A lack of experience you say? That didn't keep AEW and Tony Khan from booking Jade Cargill to the moon and making her undefeated for years. She became the first TBS champion and held that title for over 500 days. She was highly protected and pushed like Goldberg throughout that run despite her lack of experience in every area. Her AEW debut was the first time she was ever on a live microphone. It matters not. Harley Cameron is money. Give her the rocket ship too.
  2. Mercedes Mone wrestling Momo Watanabe in a nothing match no one cares about this weekend on PPV is a good reason why having her beat Harley Cameron was a gigantic mistake. Had Harley won, you could've easily extended the feud into Revolution and had a way to quickly give back the title to Mone and/or create a new star for the roster. Even if Mone were to win it back this weekend you just created another contender and added some much-needed intrigue to the PPV and roster. No offense to Momo Watanabe fans, but this match kind of came out of nowhere especially when there are a lot of women already on the roster who aren't getting booked or appearing on TV.
  3. I always thought Abadon had a cool look and gimmick and Comoroto had potential. Sad to see them leave. Losing Dark and Elevation did more damage than I expected. They at least served an important purpose in giving some other talents matches and ring time.
  4. According to Brandi Rhodes, the original idea was for her to manage Awesome Kong, but there were "too many cooks in the kitchen" and too many people were having a say in the angle. The original idea was to have Kong as a badass warrior who wanted to beat up her opponents and cut off their hair as a trophy after the match.
  5. That's the wrestling business, and that's the game Tony Khan signed up for. It also benefits them by saving money from their contracts as well. Tony Khan's "I'm not gonna sit back and take this fucking shit" strategy hasn't been working out very well for him.
  6. I am still very sad about this.
  7. Just my two cents, it felt more like Becky Lynch was trying to do a kayfabe response to Punk referencing her in his promo and went a little too far since Punk has a habit of making his interviews appear like edgy shoots. I think Perez and Cora Jade got unfortunately dragged in since Punk is viewed as a mentor to them, plus yeah, his past reputation.
  8. Becky Lynch's apparent response to the "Come and get your man line." Cora Jade's response to Becky Lynch: Yet another reason wrestlers probably shouldn't be on social media.
  9. Not if they're classified as independent contractors.
  10. Tony Khan should have the attitude of letting more people leave if they want to leave. The likelihood of once prominent guys going to WWE and becoming main event-level stars is low, especially if you are a masked luchador wrestler. Andrade has already found his new ceiling. The LWO are all glorified enhancement talents at this point. Santos Escobar is a low-level midcarder. Dragon Lee has done nothing since moving to the main roster, and that's the post-Vince McMahon regime. The bar for every masked wrestler or lucha libre type wrestler in WWE is Rey Mysterio, and every talent who fails to meet that threshold is deemed a disappointment. I say let people leave and find out if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. The chances of them becoming a Cody Rhodes main event star are low. Either way, you can at least part with your talents on good terms. If it doesn't work out for them in WWE they might even want to eventually come back.
  11. Nothing would sell this heel turn more than John Cena wrecking R-Truth and spitting on Little Jimmy. https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/1j2kbrr/kids_crying_at_cenas_heel_turn/?ref=share&ref_source=link
  12. John Cena should come out for his next appearance dressed like Tom Brady at the Super Bowl. He needs to go all the way with this. He can't be a reluctant heel full of self-doubt. If they half-ass this it's going to fail. If they go all the way with it, I'm all for it. Cody should also get booed. He's a gullible dork. He's a dumber idiot than Sting to get turned on this many times.
  13. I still think killing off Ben Urich in the first season was extremely short-sighted.
  14. Zelina is on SmackDown now though.
  15. My problem with the text of that lawsuit, if that was the same timeline his lawyer used, the dates are all wrong, and Ryan Nemeth overly inflates the self-importance of his time in AEW. The guy was in a low-level stable, and he was not even a glorified enhancement talent. He wasn't even getting pushed before or after Punk came in. This is also the first I ever heard about fans posting photos of him leaving the arena and it supposedly going viral. I don't believe that was ever a thing. I recall we heard about him having an incident about Punk after the fact, but fans weren't posting photos and laughing at him getting kicked out of the venue. Also, that's not really AEW's fault if they do that.
  16. Did Thunder Rosa work herself into a shoot?
  17. Ghosting Shane was the right play. Dude's not Paul Heyman. You don't hire Shane McMahon to revitalize your business in 2025.
  18. I think you can take Tony Khan to task for the many blunders he's made with AEW. Ghosting Shane McMahon is not one of them.
  19. In the interest of being fair, does anyone know what the heck happened with Thunder Rosa running in with the chair and then just standing there in front of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford? I suppose it's possible that what took place was miscommunication and possible inexperience on such segments. Others are saying that Bayne and Ford were intentionally trying to make Rosa look bad. But maybe they didn't want to look "weak" by running away. Either way, it was awkward. It's possible it was simply a communication issue and not everyone knew what to do. I'm assuming Rosa wouldn't want to just whack them with a chair if she wasn't supposed to.
  20. There's been a few anime series that mix up the Super Sentai genre, but Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World is easily one of my more favorite ones. I love the humor and the sense that a whole series of Super Sentai adventures with the Kizuna Rangers have already happened, complete with their own episode titles. I especially enjoy that the theme of Kizuna Rangers is relationship goals.
  21. The Daffney one is going to be tough. What happened to Daffney was horrible. But it will at least be a way for her story to be told.
  22. I very much like the feud, but I feel like they could've actually done more with it. Now it feels like it reached its natural endpoint too quickly. I think Mariah May should've been built up more before losing the title back to Toni Storm in like six months from now.
  23. As sad as I am about Harley Cameron's loss, I hope they can figure things out with her, and they can continue building her somehow. That said, this does feel like a big missed opportunity and I say that because there doesn't feel like a big angle right now for Mercedes Mone where she shouldn't lose the belt. She's just a few months shy of holding the TBS title for a year. Maybe Tony wants her reign to surpass Jade Cargill's. But my main point is, it feels like AEW and Mercedes Mone would've lost nothing from a title change, even if it's just a short one and they quickly put the belt back on Mone. Weirdly, I feel like Toni Storm winning was what I would change even though this event was kind of built around her winning and getting the feel-good hometown victory. And the reason I would change that is because it feels like Mariah May has generally been a lame-duck champion. Since winning the title, it feels like more importance has been put on Mercedes Mone and the TBS title. May's felt like a lame duck champion and just been filling time until Toni Storm came back to get some payback. It didn't feel like Mariah had any super memorable feuds or storylines before Toni Storm came back. And I think Mariah May is great but once she won the title, I don't think she was utilized to her full potential.
  24. Demolition getting in this year seems like an easy feel-good move. I hope they take it. I would like to see Jazz and/or Victoria make it in as well.
