I see your point. I just have a problem with the way that Vikings fans defend his mediocrity, by saying that he was only supposed to be better than Keenum, but the O-Line and defense aren't as good as last season.

That would actually be hilarious, and would speak volumes for how shitty of a coach Hue Jackson truly is.

Our WiFi has been cutting out between 1 and 4 every day, which isn't conducive to me working from home from 1:30-10. The cable company sent a tech out, who replaced our modem, and when he tried to update the firmware on it, he saw what we've been dealing with. The update should take 20 minutes, it was almost an hour and a half when he finally had to tap out. They've determined that it seems to be an issue with the lines. I'm working from my sister in law's house today, and then I'm off until the 31st. They told us that a ticket was in to look at the lines. Apparently, they realized that we were going to call them every day and borderline harass them. We got a text today telling us that we could expect the tech to be there on Wednesday.

Ditto to everyone here on DVDVR! -
Aaron Jones has been placed on IR with a knee injury. Joe Philbin announced that Aaron Rodgers will be playing Sunday versus the Jets, which tells me that he's definitley not the right guy to be Green Bay's new permanent head coach.

I was waiting for jaedmc to chime in, but since he hasn't. Even Lord Aaron Rodgers himself must bend the knee to the Kings of the North! Rodgers apparently hurt his groin at the end of the first half. Truth be told, with their season over, Green Bay ought to just sit him (regardless of what he wants and expects) and start Kizer for the last two games. There are worse things than getting swept by the Lions (although admittedly, not very many).

Props to Cleveland's defense. I thought Cleveland screwed themsleves by giving it to Chubbs on that 4th and 1, when Denver got that stop. With how much he was running it, Denver had to have been prepared for, and they were. But, Cleveland got four stops of their own and managed to win anyway.

That feeling when your kid forgets that you have the ability to run any joke into the ground, and she randomly decides to tell you that "It's not nice to call someone an old windbag."

I fucking loved Californication, I still say "motherfucker" like Hank, if something especially great or especially annoying happens. I honestly don't remember anything specific about the last season, just a few general names and plot devices. The only thing that I specifically recall was when Karen got pissed off when Hank told her about Levi. My wife's reaction was "She has no place to be mad. They weren't together at the time, and Hank didn't even know until now!"

Interestingly enough, Adam Thielen said that De Filippo wasn't at fault, and that the players needed to make the play. He also gave Cousins an earful on the sidelines.

Gotta love the trolls on wikipedia.

With how much both teams have struggled to put points up, why would Minnesota go for it on 4th at Goal at the 1? Even if they get the saftey by getting Wilson in the end zone, it's less than the Field Goal would have been. Edit: No, they didn't get the safety.,

I put down the proverbial foot today with the eight year old. Every day when she and her sister come home from school, after asking how their day was I ask if they have homework. The answer is almost always "no." Well, the wife and I had a conference with the teacher today, and she mentions that her homework is affecting her grades. The wife asks "Is she doing poorly on her homework?" and I asked "Is she not doing her homework?" and guess which one the teacher said was correct? So now, the teacher will write in her little daily planner what her homework assignment is. She will do it after school, and show her mother that it's been done. And, until she shows her that it's all done, she doesn't get to use her tablet, either of our iPods, or any other electronics.

The only one I've had is #4, Wrench by Industrial Arts, but it's damn good. I've been trading stuff with a couple of buddies back east, so I'm becoming well versed with New England IPAs. A couple of weeks ago, my best friend sent me a can of PM Dawn, a Coffee Stout from Trillium Brewing, which is probably the best non KBS/CBS coffee stout I've had. Unfortunately for me, I drank it after watching the Bears beat the Vikings on Sunday Night football, forgetting that it contained Cold Brew Coffee and that it was almost 10:00 PM.

As a Bears fan, I have to ask. What all needs to happen before GB is offically out of playoff contention? I assume that the Chicago win last night undid whatever hope that their beating Atlanta did. The best they can get is 8-7-1, and the worst Chicago can get is 9-7, so the division is out of their reach.

Assumption correct. Also, thanks to Chase Daniel's inability to keep ahold of the ball.

Harbaugh was the first person I thought of, as someone who wouldn't think twice about calling him out, getting in his face, or at least threatening to bench him. After all, he came up in the NFL under Ditka. But, would the brass in Green Bay let him do it?
-
Between this and the story that SI reported, that Rodgers was constantly changing the plays from the line, it's not a great week to be a Rodgers fan. Even Stephen A. Smith had to admit that there had to be at least some correlation between that and Green Bay being 4-7-1. The big question now, at least to me, is what coach in their right mind wound even want to go there? Edit: It also answers the question I had during the Seattle game, on why the hell they didn't let Jones run the ball on a 3rd and 1.......

Even though I've been down here for over a year, I don't think I'll ever get used to how slow everything moves. I interviewed for a position a week before Halloween. Since I never heard anything, I tried calling last week to follow up. I purposely waited a bit, since I know it involves a background check, plus the Thanksgiving holiday. I got no answer and after fifteen rings, no voicemail kicked on. So, I call the main number and get transferred to the department, where the mailbox was full. I try again this morning at about 8:30, and get a live person. He takes my number and says he'll check on things and get back to me. That was going on five hours ago.........- 2,468 replies

Something that got touched on this morning, is that it may be a big task to find a new head coach. Considering how difficult Rodgers is to deal with (as many of his former teammates can attest to), how much respect would a young coach is the vein of Nagy/McVei command from him?

Not so fast. He's been added to the exempt list.

The cutting down our own tree experience didn't pan out. We drove a good 75 miles to the Lincoln National Forest. No cell reception, no car radio reception. We saw about five trees that would make good Christmas trees....in three years or so when they can grow more. We were following my in-laws, and I couldn't stop myself anymore and asked my mother in law if Christmas tree lots weren't created so that people didn't have to drive to the middle of nowhere and waste a whole Sunday. My father in law is trying again tomorrow. He' going up to Cloudcroft, NM with a friend of his from work. If that doesn't pan out, then it looks like it's Lowes or Home Depot!- 2,468 replies

The wife and I watched the King Arthur film with Charlie Hunnam. The actor who plays Petyr is one of his allies, and it's almost impossible to take him seriously as a good guy.

A buddy and I were discussing Green Bay making it to the post season, after the clip of Rodgers' press conference. I'm not going to say it won't happen, because anything is possible. But, Green Bay's chances are as slim as it gets. They not only need to win all five of their upcoming games, like Rodgers said, but Chicago and Minnesota would both need to lose at least four of their next five games. Minnesota has the tougher schedule, but they still have to play Detroit and Miami, Chicago may have the Rams in a couple weeks, but they have the Giants this week and the 49ers in week 16. And that's just within the division. That doesn't even take into account Philly, Seattle, and Carolina all creeping along, with better records than Green Bay.
