  1. This can't be stated enough. I was too young to catch Brooks play and this was before Cal was more famous. But first time seeing Brooks on TV he had this sweet grandpa vibe that I immediately loved. I know my brother in law was all about their '83 World Series win so I can only imagine how sad he is that Brooks passed. But yeah it's a pretty sad day around here. And to tie this into this season it's been pretty wild seeing the Orioles of all teams actually look pretty damn good going into the playoffs. I'm hoping they don't choke but I'm being as realistic as possible. Though with Brooks passing you know there's gonna be tons of extra motivation so we'll see how it goes.
  2. So I played it a few times and they just bounce into everything with random hit points. So it's basically an MMA match which more than works for me. Only thing is knockout shots like Malakai's kick don't knock them out but stun them into wherever so it's not perfect. I just read four hits to the door can lead you to leave the octagon but had no interest in doing that yet. I'll likely try that next time I play. I will say this is my favorite mod by far and kind of wish there were more submission type wrestlers in this to have more fun.
  3. Oh, thank fuck. I got the invite last week and got into Bluesky (need to see about what invites I have to give) But while it beats the tar out of Twitter I've been thinking "It's nice, but now what?" So thank goodness for this.
  4. Oh, yeah, I've seen that before. But it's fucking wild that somebody went all "Hey, let's find a way to use this for an actual match!" and made it work.
  5. I typically don't discuss stuff like this to play it safe. But the PC version is getting pretty fucking wild.
  6. Quick search shows it is Mediterranean so that should work.
  7. Being Greek I quickly realized why the meze style is so popular over there. You get to try a bunch of awesome food and you're not committed to just one entree or sandwich. When I went five years ago I got an entree and was the odd man out but it meant more of the meze for the rest of the crew (which with the Ouzo flowing meant it still got demolished in no time anyway) Here it's the reverse though I feel like getting a sampler next time. And yes the more calamari the better. Though I can quickly detect the frozen stuff so if it says hand breaded at the restaurant then I'll get that as often as I can. I love the food channel even though we haven't seen Tay eat pizza in almost a year. I just made a slight title change but can always revert if needed.
  8. As a backup would Discord suffice? I am down with creating one and making sure things don't get out of hand. I honestly haven't heard of most of the bands y'all are talking about but man do I love the discussion! For all the talk about growing up going to many shows I was a relatively sheltered kid/teen for better or worse. So my first real concert wasn't until I was 17 for Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour. I didn't go to too many for a long time but when I moved to Baltimore nine years ago I started to go to some more shows. The bands didn't matter as it was much more about good times with friends though I'll need to think back on some of the standouts from my five years in the city. Now that I've been back in Harford County for almost four years I still always find myself up for a good show. I've been to a few this year but my favorite was Rotting Christ and the bands before it. Greek dudes coming from Athens to a random spot in Philly? Sign me up! As for records I just realized the player's in my office and I can't remember the last time I played it. It's even unplugged yet I have a crate full almost bursting at the seams. I really need to start listening again but Apple Music has been scratching that itch the past year or so. Though I did pick up some weird shit while in Athens during the summer so it's high time I get to listening.
  9. Damnit, I wasn't paying attention and thought this was this week's thread. @RIPPA might need to consider closing this.
  10. I'm a diehard AEW fan but just have to wonder why the arena was so empty tonight. I appreciate their efforts to fill up the main side but there were a lot of blacked out sections and they were largely quiet. And I don't think I need to clarify but this isn't me being a troll or whatever. I'm just a bit concerned and aside from it being a work/school night wonder why.
  11. My friend is huge into these types of games and was curious about how he'd like it. I personally never played these games before but since it's on GamePass for his sake decided to give this a go. And to my surprise I fucking love the game. After sinking in a few hours I immediately told him this is a keeper and he's since gotten the game. Though it became immediately apparent that while I have an idea of what to do I also don't know a damn thing. I'm also not a fan of the traits and picked and if I had my way would love to do a new game (without touching what I have so far) and start with better traits. But even if I don't go a fraction as far into it as y'all will I'm still having tons of fun.
  12. RTE is a fine enough concept except when doing the path to unlock Brodie Lee. That part is no issue and I have him on both Xbox and PC. But when trying to do the last match for RTE I'm stuck on the menu with no way to cancel out of it. I guess we'll never know if MJF could beat the Young Bucks in a handicap match. For both systems I'll have to start over though hope RTE doesn't crap out on me again. Also, Keith Lee is really fun to play as and I got Owen on PC who is a blast.
  13. For the shows I went to the format felt largely the same. You go there for Dark matches which was maybe 40+ minutes, a brief cooldown then it's on to Dynamite. After Dynamie it would take about 10-15 minutes before Rampage and after that it was practically over. I haven't seen any of the post-taping promos that they sometimes do so I would typically be out around 11-11:30. It was basically that format for the first Grand Slam and even then people were heading out to get the train. I can't imagine why a 2 hour Rampage made sense to TK (unless it was a WBD thing) but that's just not good. Granted I doubt they could do a two night for Arthur Ashe but that's one place where I would suggest not doing normal format and have some Rampage matches in the can before going there. This way post Dynamite it could be dark matches that aren't as essential to watch and everybody wins. As for ROH I kind of wish it was on TV though I need to keep reminding myself to catch up on the app. Every time I try and catch up weeks pass and it starts all over. By the time I catch up their last PPV will likely be on the app which at this point works for me. For $10 a month it's not something I get constant use out of but I'm just happy to know where to go to for ROH goodness. I'm hoping once I'm caught up to get back to watching whatever shows they have from the start.
  14. Has anybody tried anything on Premier Streaming Network? Only thing I know about it is that Freddie Prinze Jr. has part ownership and that's about it. When I checked the app it had a variety of stuff but then it also mentioned Premier+ with no explanation about what exactly that is.
  15. It's on Patreon which I ended up subscribing to. It is an unlisted Youtube video on Evil Uno's channel that I was able to see while not signed into anything. So I guess it's technically legal to share though if not I'll remove it. But the ref match happens right before the main so the timestamp works out.
  16. I don't know what the fuck I just saw. But as dumb as this game was it was oddly entertaining.
  17. Hopefully y'all don't mind but... DAK~! DAK~! DAK~! DAK~! Sorry, Rippa, but if the Giants were going to get demolished like that then might as well be DEAN's Cowboys. At least this time.
  18. Not only did I immediately switch to it for Dean AND the Cowboys but it's quite a lovely looking theme.
  19. That really bummed us out when it was announced Sonny left. She deserved much more than was given and even in ROH would be cheered when with the Trustbusters. This sums it up better than I could have said it. For the reasons above and then some I think Punk truly is a good guy. Which makes it frustratingly sad finding out all the bullshit that's happened. Looking back my favorite version of Punk has nothing to do with wrestling. When he was away for 7 years he found things that made him happy and it was hard to not be happy for him. I hope that once the smoke clears he can go back to doing that.
  20. I don't think many will be thinking about that when they go nuts. If it kills the town it would likely be very unintentional. Since doors are open I'm curious if there's anything online about how people are acting in the arena so far.
  21. I would be shocked if there were enough in Pittsburgh to do that. Maybe some small stuff at most but nothing sustained. But the other two shows? Holy fuck they're gonna deliver on that big time.
  22. I'm sure SAP and Outrunners are originals from Mikey. But Ospreay's theme is from the band It Lives, It Breathes. That came up right away when searching the song.
  23. I have never once thought of it that way but that is so fucking perfect that I'd be shocked if you weren't right.
  24. Funk passing was sad enough but this feels like a damn gut punch. I have things to say yet because I could go on about certain parts of his career but it's hard to focus on what to gush about. The Family stuff ruled, Firefly Funhouse and to a degree The Fiend ruled, and man he would have crushed it if he did horror. Maybe I'll expand on things more but I'm mainly just checking out his promos and it never ceases to be mesmerizing. Anyway, here's Bray converting those poor innocent children that time he feuded with Cena. This still gives me chills. And Cena for his part really helped drive it home as he acted like he was devastated to lose these kids he fights for.
