  1. Haven't heard the Harper one yet, but am slightly surprised they'd let him do that considering he's supposed to be this crazy Wyatt guy. At least when Bray did the Stone Cold one there was enough of what he was saying to make you think "Gee, this guy isn't too far off from what's on TV." That said, I'll be sure to check this out.
  2. That Grado video is fucking awesome! I don't care for him that much in TNA (wretched match with Rockstar Spud), but generally he's just fun to watch. I knew he came out to that song, but to see that many people singing along is wonderful. I'm curious about the title match he had, if it was very good then I might check this show out after all.
  3. To paraphrase a memorable line from No Way Out 2004: "DIE, TNA, JUST DIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" I'd much rather see PPW on there than TNA. Fuck this company.
  4. That's because right now it's only in California. The brewery has a mailing list you can enter to find out when it will be closer to you. Considering I live in Maryland I imagine you'll get your hands on this before I do.
  5. Which is weird considering from clips I see of the house shows, she can be super charismatic. If not for the tag title match, her teaming with Vaudevillains makes a lot more sense than the Hype Bros.
  6. So it sounds like Charlotte was the only Flair to know about this. Come on, man, that's super fucked up. I haven't heard the podcast yet, but if you're going to mention your dead brother it helps to at least let your immediate family know ahead of time. And on top of that, was it her idea or the writers?
  7. I can see using a dead relative with the okay from the family if it actually goes somewhere. Charlotte tried, but like Ric can't really mention Reid without crying (can you blame them?) It also seemed like it took Paige out of the moment as she was trying to keep it together herself. And even when she got back to her promo it was so disjointed that I couldn't figure out why she felt a need to bring it up in the first place. Just so, so awkward on all counts. Good brawl, but a "WTF" moment at the same time. On a lighter note, Bootyade was hilarious. Then Kofi slipped in there a mention to Bootyjuice. I went from laughing to bugging out and going "Please, for the love of everything, don't look that up!" Can't believe that made TV. And holy crap is Kofi awesome at this heel thing, he's gotten so good at it.
  8. I'm certain Tromataker will attest to that as well, but on Wrestling Observer Meltzer and Tom Lawlor were quite smitten with her. Apparently they met her somewhere.
  9. The only spoiler that should exist in this thread is that season two is going to be fucking awesome. Obvious statement, but that should be the only thing we know of here. And I'm so glad to see tapings going on and knowing there's shows taped for its debut.
  10. Into the Badlands had a neat deal where Walking Dead fans had to wait until the first commercial to see the preview for next week (which didn't show much) There were those that were annoyed at a 20 minute segment, but most were loving the 20 minutes they saw. This is going to be a super fun show to watch for sure.
  11. I'm not sure if the thread from 10 years ago is still somewhere in the archives, but holy crap was that day intense. Was doing yardwork and felt like taking a break and checking the board. As soon as I saw the news my jaw hit the floor and I was in a weird state of shock the next couple days. Sometimes I cried, sometime I just fired up matches and watched them. There's been many wrestling deaths before and after Eddie, but I never seen one draw the reaction that his did aside from legends like Piper and Dusty (Warrior too) That thread was just so sad with people feeling numb and sad and definitely not wanting to believe it was true. What really got me is that he had his book and DVD where he explained all the hell he went through. For all we knew he over all of that and was champion. That just really hurt a lot to see his past catch up to him after seemingly overcoming it. It would be similar with Jake Roberts, if he passes after overcoming all he went through that would hit extremely hard. And Player Shunna, holy crap that's one helluva story.
  12. So this is officially one of the most surreal things I've seen in gaming in quite some time. Much like Ryu, the news came out of seemingly nowhere and had many of us going into various levels of excitement. I'm going to be using him an awful lot, looks like he'd be super fun to play as. And just look at all that FF fan service they're throwing in, man, it's awesome.
  13. Much like the ESPN special, it sounds like he's yet again showing how awesome he is but is unfortunately saddled with what he's doing on TV. There's still a chance to see him just be him and it'll be grand. But time's ticking and gimmick's like the party pooper won't help his case. But it sounds like I should check this out, sounds like a good one.
  14. No way, I can see Bayley getting seriously merc'ed by somebody in London, then being out for a few weeks. That will give her some time to recharge with the audience. While it would make sense to have this play out, can't help but feel selfish in not wanting to see Bayley lose the title. Unless they have some bigger and better plans for her, I just want her to have the title for the longest time. It would just be so damn sad seeing her lose. If anything I'd be fine with them doing this early next year but not next month. That said, Joe continues to be totally justified in his turn and that segment was fun. Loved the mix tag for all its wackiness and holy fucking fuck the tag title match warmed my heart. I love the old school approach Dash and Dawson bring where limb work is on point and they practically dominate. I love how Aiden thought he had it figured out early on, but once he got the chop block that was it for him He was a fool for tagging in after the hot tag, and I can see that adding tension to the Vaudevillains. Fun, fun match.
  15. It could be a lesson that they learned from Summerslam weekend. ROH might have had some more people if not for NXT. And it definitely hurt JR's show, but that's not a wrestling show per se. Either way, I consider it a smart move on their part.
  16. First of all, it's weird seeing those two names and okay match in the same line. From what they can do unless it's a criminally short match with shenanigans this has to be pretty good. Second, I'd much rather see them in a long match than most of what they put on Raw/SD. Going to have to check out Main Event for once.
  17. I thought that was Val, but dismissed it thinking "No way they'd show her." I'm sure somebody knew who she is, but still weird seeing that. And the ref singing was hilarious. Also got a kick out of Tyler and Dillinger looking at bats for no real reason, as well as a debate on what happened at the Alamo. Find it weird Josh cut that promo after they built him up as this good guy with a family. Right off the bat he said he makes more than the others and you could see some resentment in their eyes. If the promo was any good he could get away with that. But if that's all he has then holy shit he's fucked. If anything just give him a manager from now on.
  18. Not sure about that, but on a semi-related note Damien Abraham from Fuck up was on MVP's podcast. Part of MLW radio. It was mainly talking about weed. It's a really fun episode if you're up for checking that out.
  19. The way they're showing Glenn's dead (name's out of credits, message on wall Maggie put up) makes me more certain than ever he's alive. Odds are they'll show that the last episode before the winter break. If that's the plan then they might end up having more filler until then.
  20. There is a pretty damn spot-on Lucha Underground arena that was put up recently by gazwefc (on PS4). For the ring and ringside it looks fantastic. Still need to find a couple quality LU wrestlers and with that I can get a good Universe Mode going on. And I found a damn near perfect Asuka, and the wish of many has been fulfilled as I proceeded to have her kick the crap out of Eva Marie. Still can't submit anybody but fun nonetheless.
  21. Well, shit. I never knew I needed to see this until now. Will have to catch that soon.
  22. I can see having this on with Raw in the background. This is a wonderful idea.
  23. Can't embed image for some reason. But basically what this is saying is: Seriously, these fucks are going to outlive us all, aren't they. They are the wrestling equivalent of cockroaches, just won't go away.
  24. I will preface this by saying I had a few drinks (yet still make sure shit's typed out fine, even if it takes longer) 1. NXT is very much college in the WWE system where they get to try shit out and hope it sticks. Much like real life you explore and hope to come out if it a decent shape. In NXT, it's all about trying gimmicks/moves/stories and hoping it can be something productive and meaningful. And what's cool is the crowd is more than willing to accept whatever that is so you can try whatever and it's fine. So many gimmicks in NXT would get ripped apart on the main roster, but given the crowd be forgiving and accepting of its developmental status they're cool with it. Shit, even Eva Marie has people that accept her for some inane reason. 2. Despite trying out whatever sticks, marketabiliby is still a huge factor. If a wrestler is going to translate well to the main roster, they need to find that something that the casual viewer will dig. And on first viewing of a wrestler called up, looks play a huge part into it. Asuka will show how fucking awesome she is with her wrestling and will be a good world beater. But on first viewing she's super attractive and that will make people pay attention. On the male side, Finn Balor is insanely handsome. On first viewing many females will want to check him out and considering that's a demo they want to reach that's a good thing. Though honestly, there's some males that are pleased as punch to see him on TV and part of that segment might have to do with how fucking good he looks (remember, I had drinks, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm one of those males) But that's fine, though. People like my wife will want to see as much of Finn as possible due to the look. But once called up they'll be able to show what they can do and the main roster will be fucking grand. Now granted, the main roster is a lot like the post-college life in that it'll be a bitch to succeed in. But for those that can get their foot in the door quite easily (you know Finn and Asuka will be called up soon enough) they'll have an advantage and have the goods to back it up. From there it'll take a lot of dipshits to fuck them up. As cool as it is to blame Dunn, there's more morons to deal with and I'm hoping everybody is on board. I hope this shit makes sense, thankfully it's a general NXT thread. But cliff notes version, marketability is key, Asuka and Finn are insanely good looking and marketability is key. I'm really hoping I typed something semi-sensical in all this, if not then my apologies. If I need to explain/edit anything I'll get to that tomorrow or Monday. But yeah, marketability is key and holy crap do Finn and Asuka bring it in a huge way. EDIT: Looking at this two days later, holy bats what the hell was I saying in this? Either I need better drinks or stick with posting while at work. I consider it a minor miracle people were able to make any kind of discussion out of this.
  25. I'm interested in the movie and can't wait to see it. On a related note, I'm sure you heard about a terminally ill person who wanted to see the movie. Well, JJ granted that wishhttp://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/terminally-ill-star-wars-fan-6779488 Very cool of him to do that.
