if that squash match is the main event, what kind of jobbers do they have rounding out the card?

that scorigami video was awesome

i feel like there is some sort of social media group that could take this exact concept and #HashtagIt and turn it into a big merchandising deal. i'm way too lazy to do it, but the idea is ripe for the taking....

quick thoughts (not that anybody reads these this far into the thread): Cody/Sammy was my match of the night, which i did not expect. Cody can by over-indulgent sometimes, but he's IMO the MVP of AEW. Heel beatdown was fun through the commercial break, but i really liked Sammy's reactions to the whole ordeal. MJF/Cutler was short and fine. the quick ending did make me wonder if Cutler had a legit injury. MJF is money on the mic. Jay & Silent Bob got a pop out of me, but the Angelico/Jack Evans and Private Party stuff felt forced and i didn't care. SCU-Lucha Bros faceoff was a solid build. PAC/Hangman Page was really quite good but was hurt by the commercial. the right man won, but i was into this the whole time. Page is really growing on me. Riho/Nyla Rose was fine. i see a lot of mixed reactions, i'm on the more negative side. Probably just personal preference, but i can't get into Nyla Rose matches. She's just not good. Britt Baker on commentary was a non-issue. Did she add anything? finishing stretch was the highlight and the right person won. crowd reactions were crazy for this. Heel beatdown was ok, Kenny making the save was a neat moment. Jericho&LAX/Omega&Bucks was weird. the Moxley appearance was awesome as was the crowd brawl and glass table. the non DQ also took me out for a minute. the 3-on-2 bulk of the match was fun. liked the finishing stretch and again the Judas Effect looked solid here. the post-match beatdown went too long but whatever. Hager was a groan for me. no interest in that dude whatsoever. looking forward to next week. the first hour plus i felt like a 9 year old again, huge smile pasted to my face.

i work 2nd shift, so i won't be watching anything live. but i'm ridiculously stoked for AEW tomorrow night. Wednesday will become my new wrestling night, as i plan on watching NWA Power as a lead-in to AEW Dynamite starting next week.

kinda been covered already, but i think it's more of a respect thing. more of a "i'm sorry that happened to you" than "i'm sorry i did that to you" moment. if you're the wrestling on the giving end, you will likely have to work with this person (or one of their close friends) so this is the first step to putting it behind everyone and nobody holding grudges. as to your second point, completely agree. don't air your dirty laundry for the world to see. unfortunately, that's not the world we live in anymore.

from the link: so this adds a Tuesday show. we've finally achieved my childhood dream- new wrestling every night of the week!

saw this tweet and thought of you, OSJ. -
at a forum i used to post at, the handful of us would type in green when we were being sarcastic. which was most of the time. but it did tend to work well. really well.

excitement. spontaneity. great matches. storylines that hook me. lose some of the "slick"ness or "over produced" feel of the show. i tune in yearly for Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. both shows would really have to blow me away, on top of months of positive press (here and other places), for me to watch whatever the post-Mania PPV event is. the point (to me) is that the show isn't for me anymore. They've booked towards kids for years now, and all the shininess and quick camera cuts turn me away. i'm not their target audience, and since i'm well into my 30s, it never will be again. that's fine from my perspective, there's plenty of wrestling from the 80s and 90s that i haven't even seen yet.

ooof, tough main event for the live crowd. at least they had some bangers in the lead up.

agreed on all accounts. i actually had to double check and make sure Tyson Nam hadn't been in the UFC a while and i had overlooked him. the win over Dantas really made him a "this dude is for real" contender, but Marlon Moraes in that moment was a perfect example of "steal your momentum and add it to my own" Stephens remains one of my favorites and i can't wait to see this match. i lean towards Yair pulling it off but it's gonna be a fun one!

i would've sworn this main event happened like 2-3 months ago. i am so out of the UFC loop it's ridiculous. Gaethje won by TKO in rd3, for those curious.

also, Colby is still unofficially the interim champ as he won that belt and never lost it. i know that's not how things work but fuck it.

IMPACT is still around in 2019...

i'm trying to fathom the idea of buying a tv channel, and i can't really wrap my head around how that happens. like, it's obviously happened tons of times, but i just can't fathom it right now. it's just a bizarre concept. you don't actually own anything physical here. it's just trademarks and broadcadting rights. weird. and i'm not even high. -
to nobody's surprise, Colt Cabana is set to return to the NWA for their 9/30 and 10/1 tapings.

that was a good read and actually made me interested in seeing this match. hopefully it gets posted to youtube or something in its entirety soon. thanks for sharing

a non-comics-reading buddy just texted me pissed off that they're turning Batman black. so for what it's worth, people are talking. After i told him they're not turning Bruce black he seemed more OK with it, but the point stands. As far as Alfred's death goes, have they even once referenced that the Joker cut off his hand in the "Death of the Family" storyline? Talk about adding something for pure shock value and no payoff. i mean, Joker also cut his own face off at one point and he seems to be doing fine....

yes, i realize that the name Gangrel was trademarked. i never understood why WWE would pay to use it in the first place. that makes sense. figured it was along these lines but didn't have the info to back it up
-
WWE always licensed the Gangrel name. no idea why.
