  1. I've honestly had brainstorms with people about which Irish names could have a chance to get throught WWE and American filtering: Niamh Aoife Nuala Fionnuala Caoimhe Eimear For those who don't know WWE added an extra "h" to the traditional Irish spelling of "Seamus" too. Siobhan would be great just for the announcers giving themselves aneurysms trying to pronounce it. Also, this (G1 spoiler).
  2. Dennis Coffey and the song that launched a million hip-hop samples, SCORPIO. You know you've got extra-funky chops if you're a bunch of white dudes from Scotland who can go on Soul Train like it ain't no thing. AVERAGE WHITE BAND for the win. http://youtu.be/n60E8-Wt4Mk A little Billy Preston to seal the deal. The song could be awful (spoiler alert: it's Billy motherfucking Preston, so it isn't) but this would be a must-see just for the AMAZING Afros he and his band are all rocking.
  3. Hee hee hee. NBCSN counter-programming the Charity Shield with a certain title-decider from 2012.
  4. I wish. No dice on that one yet...
  5. It's a rough night on Nitro for erstwhile friend of the board Maverick Wild as Kevin Sullivan and Jackie give him what-for.
  6. Children, puh-lease. It's called FUNK for a reason.
  7. Amusing that we have the GWF stuff on ESPN now, because I could totally see Yujiro there with his current look. He could team with Rod Price and John Tatum as the Coast to Coast to Coast Connection.
  8. Sadly my Google-Fu is weak and so I am unable to find one of those 1970s cable boxes I grew up with. The ones with the GIANT dial on the front that looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.
  9. Yeah, the sheer randomness of the early GWF crew was what made them so endearing and fun before the money dried up.

  11. The absolute classic of these? The HBO openings. Especially the extended ones http://youtu.be/QK8huHlyMrc FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU AND FUCK YOU! Who's next?
  12. http://youtu.be/1nJu2YmawAY
  13. I'm still sad Cornette didn't turn on them to manage a new team called the Galagas. The Space Invaders was right there. RIGHT THERE. Especially if they came out to the "dun. dun. dun. dun." music.
  14. That baby sloth is so jaded, maaaaaan.
  15. During the Victory/Tatum feud, Sebastian was taunting Victory with pizza boxes because Victory and Tatum were feuding over the pizza business they'd started together or some such nonsense. In this one match, Sebastian (I think) grabs Victory so Tatum can hit him. Victory moves, Tatum hits Sebastian who goes flying a good 7-8 feet off the apron, through the guardrail (if he'd actually hit it he would've hurt himself very badly) and into the crowd. Just an amazing bump that gets totally ruined because he gets right up and dusts himself off like he'd tripped or something.
  16. OMG Sebastian's Cactus Jack-level crazy bump is just as horrific today as it was 20 years ago. If that dude had any sense at all he would've stayed down and sell the shit out of it, instead of immediately popping up like Road Warrior Hawk in a tweed blazer because it wasn't in the script.
  17. The parity is interesting. Last I checked, everyone is sitting at 4-2/3-3/2-4... no one's broken away from the pack and no one's getting jobbed into obliviacry (tm Shane Douglas) either.
  18. Meltzer is saying this will be his first surgery. Incredible.
  19. Greg Lake really must've taken the ELP breakup hard to wind up jobbing on All-Star Wrestling shows.
  20. That's what sold the angle for me. I watched him do the Parka strut. Figured it was Parka and then he hit the Diamond Cutter and unmasked it was 200% gold. Yeah, the strut was what put it over for me. Even though it was a bit awkward, I thought "he's just going through the motions because he's on job duty for Savage." Then he hits the Cutter and I go "Oh shit, DDP taught him the Diamond Cutter!" Then he unmasks and my brain melts. Perfection.
  21. That'd be pretty funny if Bryan actually could hide something in his beard, knowing Ed Whalen used to accuse the Cuban Assassin of doing the same thing.
