  1. Good show, Cole with a quick killing of Uno to set up his next phase which looks like it’s inevitably heading into a clash with a certain cowboy. I liked that he pointed out how one way or another he always ends on top of any promotion he’s in which is 100% true. “Evil Uno, Excalibur, stands for Evil One… I don’t know if you knew that” TNT title match was ok, I’m all for a soft Sammy/Darby alliance and then facing each other. They always go pretty crazy against each other. Did Leyla hit Stat with a chair or a freaking shotgun? Holy shit at the sound of that. Rosa looked great and kicked Mercedes’ ass for about 90% of that match. The rare DQ finish works and we know we’ll see them face again soon. Main event was great, Starks is by far the most underused guy in the company IMO and he should be right there at the Darby/Sammy level. From the moment his awesome theme plays he just screams Superstar, please do more with him. Jericho in particular seemed to praise him a lot during the match. One thing that really stood out for me is how both guys were extremely slick and smooth with transitions and counters, everything looked perfect video game animation-like, culminating in that beautiful finish which they understandably replayed about 5 times right away. Great showing for both and I hope we get more Starks more often.
  2. In terms of great matches and rematches, a solid definitive finish always adds extra enjoyment to my watching, hence why I rate their later match a bit higher.
  3. I don't really use Twitter much anymore but always check Hangman's tweets from time to time because he's hilarious. He ends most of his threads by promoting Dynamite which kills me. Btw I don't know why but Twitter posts never seem to embed properly for me, is it just pasting the link onto the post?
  4. @The NaturalSlow morning at work, so I decided to use your list and reorganise it to what I would consider my top 10 (Well, 11 because I felt bad not including the Best Friends match) 11. Trent/Chuck Taylor vs. Santana/Ortiz. AEW Dynamite, 16th September 2020. 10. Bryan Danielson vs. Minoru Suzuki. AEW The Buy In: Rampage, 15th October 2021. 9. Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes. AEW Double or Nothing 2019. 8. Matt Jackson/Nick Jackson vs. Fenix/Pentagon. AEW All Out 2021. 7. Thunder Rosa vs. Dr. Britt Baker. AEW St. Patrick's Day Slam Dynamite, 17th March 2021. 6. MJF vs. CM Punk. AEW Dynamite, 2nd February 2022. 5. CM Punk vs. Eddie Kingston. AEW Full Gear 2021. 4. Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson. AEW Winter is Coming Dynamite, 15th December 2021. 3. Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega. AEW Grand Slam Dynamite, 22nd September 2021. 2 Kenny Omega/Adam Page vs. Matt Jackson/Nick Jackson. AEW Revolution 2020. 1. Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson. AEW Dynamite, 6th January 2022. I've bought every PPV they've had, but we still have to be grateful with how much good shit they put out on their weekly shows.
  5. Really likes the show overall, i was thoroughly entertained. - Yuta and Mox had a nice little match even tho it was a bit awkward for the first couple of min. I wasn't expecting the turn the storyline with Bryan is taking but I'm all for it. You know they'll end up wrestling one day anyway so why not make the journey as interesting as possible. I wish Kingston gets involved somehow at some point too. This gave me a bit of an "Outsiders" vibe the way Bryan kept referring to the both of them and "the other place". Also love the total disdain Bryan has for Sammy's Vlog and all the young names he dropped, masterfully avoiding HOOK because then no one would talk about anything else if he did that. - I somewhat enjoy Lambert's segments because while I agree they're kinda trash, you can't fault the commitment the guy has to his character. Plus he's extremely confident on the mic which always impresses me, don't think I've ever heard the guy stumble on a single word with all the crap he talks. I just wish this whole Codyverse crap would stop talking about Face and Heel turns because it drives me crazy. - Lmao at Isaiah getting a random fist pump from Jose. - Nyla looked pretty brutal in that match, but what was that finish with Ruby completely missing her finisher? Looked weird and kinda made her look like an idiot. - I'm enjoying the Page/Archer mini feud because they get physical every time they see each other instead of the heel running away from confrontation week after week. Match should be good and a solid win for Hangman, he makes Archer's finisher look very good. - Main event was awesome. They hardly did any risky or big spots apart from a couple and yet everyone loved the match, great storytelling and the selling from Punk was outstanding. I know he gets compared to Bret a lot lately and I also got some of that feel today with the way he sells exhaustion and pain. He was about to apply the Sharpshooter in a very un-Bret way tho which I don't approve. Between this, Sammy/Cody, Hangman/Bryan and even the Bunny/Penelope vs TayJay you've had four near ***** matches all completely different to each other in the span of two months, all on free TV. This is not counting the countless of great matches we get anyway every week, we are truly spoiled.
  6. Taz said another one of those comments which I hate from wrestling commentators (JR does it a lot) when he said Bowen is good because he is “legit athlete, legit dude” because of his baseball background. At least Jericho caught it and quickly said something like (in Jericho scream): “legit athlete? We’ll MOX IS A LEGIT FIGHTER BAYBAYYY”
  7. Fun show, I was never bored. Some thoughts: Mox-Bowens felt a few minutes too long and I feel lacked a bit of drama because no one in the crowd ever bough into any of Bowens false finishes. Still a good match and GOD DAMN Mox took his head off with that lariat near the end. Same for FTR murdering Lee Johnson on the outside at one point the match with brutal shots. I’m really liking Julia Hart’s attitude lately, and if you watch her on Sammy’s blog she’s starting to show a lot of personality too. Andrade’s English seems to be getting much better, he sounded a lot more confident and fluid in that backstage segment with Darby. Main event was fun and as expected, so far I’ve enjoyed Jurassic Express’ reign more than The Lucha Bros. I like that we had Teo tag matches with two tiers of veterans as managers, Tully-Arn and then Hardy-Christian.
  8. I thought MJF was gonna say Cabana when he was announcing Punk's opponent for next week.
  9. Opener was fun even though it started kinda slow and could have done with at least 5min cut off from it. The Ladder to Ladder Cutter should be in most AEW video packages and show openings from now on. The Swanton to the ladder looked BRUTAL for Sammy, the way it had zero give made me worried that he had gotten hurt but Sammy is liquid like a cat so no big deal. The GTH he hit on Cody looked pretty gnarly too. Happy Sammywon, I like the "unpredictability" of the TNT title's booking compared to the World Title's more epic/long build ups to predictable but correct title changes. Hobbs and Starks looks absolutely amazing as the villains of two completely late 80's/early 90's direct to video movies. I thought this was definitely going to be Wardlow's night to turn specially after his baby face showing earlier in the night. But oh well. Main event was kinda meh, not sure if I was just tired but it didn't seem to do much for me. The finish felt pretty anticlimactic too but at least the Best Friends have gotten something in this feud.
  10. I’m loving all these little Trent bangers that are way more brutal that they should be. Moxley looks great and lean, good match and I loved the face off with Dragon at the end. Nice way of doing it with Bryan just waiting in the crowd. What more can be said about Hook? The guy was over as fuck with the crowd with every single move and was even popping all the guys on commentary with everything he did, HUGE STAR aura tonight. I can see Hook getting the TNT title sooner rather than later with how hot he is. QT’s “oh my gaaawwweeee” while being suplexed was hilarious. I love how we can witness Jungle Jack become a better promo right in front of our eyes with every show. That main event was pretty awesome. For two performers that are pretty much “rookies” in this business, the match was physical and perfectly executed, they should be proud of it. Anna Jay felt like the veteran in the ring which gave her an air of more extra confidence than usual and felt like she really stepped up. Silver and “Smart Mark” we’re great cheerleaders and together with the hot crowd made for a great atmosphere. Good stuff all around from everyone involved.
  11. Cody was very loved for the first year of AEW, one of the top faces easily. The hate for him slowwwwly started when he went over Ogogo, the whole feud with the Factory really sucked and people started cooling off on Cody big time. But then the Malakai/Andrade feuds really pushed the hate for him over the top since he ended up "winning" those rivalries over two guys most hardcore fans love.
  12. I thought the same, she murdered Velvet with the first one. Starks/Hobbs had a promo just before this and I half expected them to walk past Layla killing them and look interested.
  13. Really fun opener, OC was way more energetic than usual and just goofing around. I laughed out loud at some of his "double team" spots with Stat. I guess he wins the blow off next week since it wouldn't affect Cole's perfect record? Loved the Spears squash, the little counter/spinnie bit they did was good as it shows he got caught instead of just kick, wham, GTS. I liked Punk's little Breakfast Club nod with the scarf. Good promo from Cody, gave me some flashbacks of when he used to do this during Dynamite's first year almost every show. I just hate the whole "i won't turn heel" comments. Not sure who wins next week but I'm sure we'll see Sammy do some crazy shit. Pillman continues to be the cringiest guy they feature on the main shows. I know the dude's heart is in it but he just looks like a dork most of the time. Good guy Trent. I'm surprised at the video montage they did for the Roppongi/Bucks NJPW matches, feels like a waste that they never did this for Suzuki/Iishi/etc when they come in. Didn't care much for Archer-Kaz, I feel it should have been a more dominant quick win for Archer if he's supposed to be going after Page. Crowd was dead until Hangman showed up which was an exciting little exchange, but everyone knows there's absolutely zero chance of Archer winning this. This is like the classic post title win Kane feud that most people in WWE used to get. Didn't care much for the main event apart from Sting's table splash.
  14. I can see this, kind of like HBK after 2002 where he never won the title again but was still near the top of the show for most of his run.
  15. So much this. Gimme me something like Bret vs. Austin at WM 13 or even the recent Punk vs. Kingston match as a modern day street fight instead of the random trashcan and kendo stick shots. Intensity > Plunder.
  16. That was a amazingly fun hour of wrestling. Loved the opener, Trent and Cole didn’t have to go as hard as they did but I’m glad they did because that was the definition of “a banger”. Trent specially was really laying in all of his shots tonight and the guys were just killing each other all match. Predictable finish but good stuff here. They did Andrew Everett dirty, at least let the guy hit one big move before being put down. Good little promo from Spears afterwards tho. Main event was lots of fun, all well executed and easy to follow. I think I’m going to enjoy this title reign more than The Lucha Bros one because I felt most of their matches were a big mess night after night. This was a fun face vs face match and they really got me with that 2.9999 kick out from Jungle Boy near the end. Loved the pre match promo with Jungle Boy almost breaking a few times due to Silver’s absurdity.
  17. This show should be a blast, I enjoy watching about 90% of the talent pictured.
  18. Random thoughts: Didn’t care for the random Matt Hardy and Acclaimed matches. They felt very Dark-ish material. I liked Dam Lambert desperately shouting “YOURE IN THE RING WITH THE CHAMPION DONT WASTE THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!” because that’s classic wrestling logic, start beef with the champ and get a title shot. Punk continues his Bret homage tour by beating Diesel at Survivor Series 95. I was (and it seemed like the crowd too) very ready for Warlord’s face turn to finally happen tonight, was disappointed when it wasn’t complete. Brit got the biggest laugh out of me by saying Adam Butler. i like the idea of she and Cole helping each other when but not being attached at the hip ever time they’re on screen. Jungle Boy keeps getting better and better in the mic. Then silver came in and just stole the whole thing by being absolutely ridiculous. Main event was fun, really enjoyed the intensity between both guys. It blows my mind that Daniel García and Brian Pillman Jr have been wrestling for the same amount of time yet Garcia is a million miles ahead in every way possible. Eddie again was getting is name cheered near the end, it’s amazing how much the crowd always sides with him. I think him vs Hangman would be extremely captivating.
  19. Gotta say people always talk about Danielson, Omega, Rosa and Britt. But on most lists I see online Hangman's is mentioned A LOT in the top 10-ish AEW matches ever and it almost goes unnoticed or not talked about enough. Seems to match his personality tbh, very reserved, the guy is low key the best worker in AEW.
  20. I get ya, I was also hoping for some kind of Entrance Set freshen up with the move to TBS. It all just blurs together after a while.
  21. On the same topic, I was surprised at Dante being even face to face with Hobbs, his body type makes him seem smaller.
  22. Well Sammy was just in a match so made sense that a fresh guy would get the upper hand. It didn’t come off as him looking bad to me.
  23. Only watched the opener so far but that was a pretty good match between those two, the triple springboard Swanton to the outside by Sammy was crazy. Loved the show of respect at the end which wasn’t dragged out and felt natural (eh). Also, the post match pull apart brawl is probably one of the most realistic looking ones they’ve ever done because Garcia looks like a guy that would be looking for a fight on a random night out outside a bar.
  24. Cole / Atlas was a nice match. I don’t mind the leg lock ending as it looked like Atlas could legit do nothing else at that point and Cole barely made contact with him. Hook looked awesome and better than his match last week imo, I like how he always just wants to get out of the ring as soon as the deal is done and didn’t even want to give QT any attention until he pushed him. Taz saying that sometimes “it’s hard to get the words out” during his matches felt very wholesome. I skipped the womens match tonight, Ruby has been doing nothing for me in the ring lately. Main event was alright, nothing too crazy. I felt the finish came a bit out of nowhere and Eddie looked a bit weak throughout the whole thing. Santana looked like a bad ass tho.
