  1. I can only think of 3 off the top of my head. Two with Bryan, one with Orton. The Orton one was pretty bad. The first Bryan match was mediocre, and the second one was quite good. Particularly with how he sell,s you can tell the guy is learning a lot from traveling with Rollins and Ambrose.
  2. I don't think so now that we're past the first four episodes or so, but for me it was that she was joining SHIELD as a double agent for another organization- Jessica Drew joined SHIELD as a spy for Hydra, and by the time Fury found out, her loyalties were 100% SHIELD so she started spying on Hydra for him. I think that's accurate. Anyway, between Skye looking the part and some familiar aspects being thrown in, I was pretty sure/hoping that's what they were doing. But nope, it seems like she's just 'Skye,' an expert computer hacker that is so good at hacking computers Coulson has decided to make her a SHIELD field agent in training who was spying on SHIELD for her boyfriend and her's hacker collective of two people because her mom was killed by SHIELD.
  3. That article about Terrance Howard has been making the rounds on Facebook, and one of my friends mentioned that while they're glad Howrad got axed, Cheadle wasn't a great replacement. I sort of get that...Cheadle is charismatic but doesn't fit the role as well as I'd like him to. Who else would have been a good War Machine pick?
  4. I was more intrigued by his contention that he "helped get him [RDJR] the role." It sounds like something you'd hear a bitter mid-card wrestler say about Hulk Hogan in one of those RF Shoots. Are we saying that Terrance Howard is the Koko B Ware of acting?
  5. Because the name of the movie was Thor: The Dark World and not The Avengers: The Dark World. The explanation does not have to be muddled with comic book logic about who was doing what at the time because anything can be justified with comic book stuff that is unquantifiable.. No way I want a 20 minute pace killing scene explaining where Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, War Machine, Hulk, Coulson, Skye, Ward, the annoying British twins, Melinda May, surviving members of the Howling Commandos, and Thunderbolt are, right at this moment. It can be a really fun phone conversation scene, like a Bud Light whattssupppp commercial.
  6. Who was asking for that team to show up? Can you imagine the record scratch when a van pulls up and Skye/Ward get out to debrief Thor?
  7. But that's IN THE MOVIE. That was Chris Nolan saying 'eh, that works for me.' In his non super hero "i want this to be realistic serious business' Batman movie. There are Avengers in Thor. There was never an intention to include them. The inverse of this is 'those last minute Hawkeye pick ups in the first Thor were weird and messed up the pace.' This is a thing that I think about an Avenger that was in a Thor movie. If I had been like 'just Hawkeye? this movie is stupid where is Jack of Hearts' I would be doing it wrong. If I had walked out of Dark Knight Rises like 'fuck this garbage why was Green Arrow shooting Bane up with green arrows,' then we would be on the same page, because that is you. Argue pace. Argue that Darcy still doesn't have a last name. Just argue something that's in the movie.
  8. Also, I love that we had 5 pages of how shitty Agents of SHIELD is followed by people being mad that SHIELD didn't show up in Thor. THESE CHARACTERS ARE AWFUL Y THEY NOT IN FEATURE FILM
  9. I'm not bothered by it, either- I'm just pointing out the dumb of the WHERE WAS THE HULK AND FALCON line we're gonna get from these guys until Marvel stops making movies. Thor has his comic. It's about Thor. Sometimes other people show up. But if every Thor comic ended with EVERYONE CAME TO HELP it 1. wouldn't be a Thor comic anymore and 2. The concept of 'everyone is here' wouldn't be special anymore
  10. You're not alone. I just wanted them to go all the way with it. His feud with Wade Barrett could have been "you throw elbows? that's cool i guess i threw elbows a lot before elbows got too mainstream"
  11. I would have given Chris Hero a barista gimmick. Like, he works at the Starbucks cart in catering. Every now and then there's a backstage segment where he tells a beloved good guy not to give up after they've lost a match when he hands them their soy latte. Sometimes he shills merch by asking if someone wants this new John Cena hat with their old fashioned donut. And then one day, he just completely snaps and challenges someone to a match, which he wins by throwing coffee in their face while the ref is distracted. THAT YOUNG KONA BLEND KID.
  12. I'm really excited about next week, when the lights suddenly go out at the end of the show during a big brawl, and Chris Hero walks onto the stage and crosses his arms while everyone stares.
  13. She's actually really solid, excited to see her join the group. Though casting two ethnically Eastern Europeans from "Wundagore" would have been a nice white people mix up.
  14. Wrote a review here: http://joestarr.tumblr.com/post/66685033601/thor-2-the-best-possible-masters-of-the-universe-movie Thor 2 was the best possible version of the Masters of the Universe movie, and I say that as the best compliment.
  15. The comedy group I was working with in San Francisco was working on filming a dark comedy pilot I had written about a guy trying to be a respectable chef having to take over his wrestling legend dad's promotion when the old man dies, and we worked out a deal with Roland to film our in ring stuff at APW Gym Wars. Of course, the night before meeting with Roland, the rest of the group watched Beyond The Mat as a homework assignment, since they're non fans. All of them were like 'who is this greasy scam artist you have us meeting with?' Working with the guy turned out great. The meeting was hilarious- first, the dude had made so many notes on the script we gave him. Like, joke rewrites and character ideas. He was pumped to be a part of the process of this project a bunch of nobodies was working on. THEN, he not only gave us an insanely fair deal to use the space, he let us use the space during one of his shows. His words: Why the hell would you hire a bunch of extras to come be a wrestling crowd? Just shoot our crowd, you'll love it. So, at intermission, he got in the ring and introduced us, told the crowd what was going on, and then we shot an in ring funeral for Buck 'The Steamroller; Chapman. APW's crowd was perfect. Without even being asked, they stood quietly when Buck was rolled in. Some old dude even took his hat off out of respect. One of the characters, 'Sex Drive' Shane Davenshire, did a eulogy, and they broke into a 'Well said, Sex Drive' chant. I was crying I was (silently) laughing so hard. I've heard so many stories about the guy being a piece of shit to think they aren't true, but he was really good to us that night and went out of his way to make the shoot better. We got to share the locker room, and my wife talked wedding planning with Cheerleader Melissa all night. The project turned out to be a total trainwreck, but thanks to Roland, it was a really, really fun trainwreck.
  16. I wrote this about SHIELD if anyone feels like reading: http://joestarr.tumblr.com/post/66209472090/agents-of-shield-needs-some-sausage I didn't watch last night. I forgot it was on, which is never a good sign. Sounds like more of the same, though. My biggest beef is that with things like 'Fitz has the hots for Skye' they just pull the trigger when they want That Plot Point to happen. They don't plant seeds. Fitz wanting to bang Skye should have been causing problems with the Fitz Simmons Twin dynamic for weeks.
  17. Are we going to find out that Dr. Shelby was carefully programming Kane into Citizen Kane during those anger management sketches?
  18. idiot fans stop chanting yes just because big show tells you to it's not his chant thank you. Good on Show for improvising through the Shield being cued to enter too early, though.
