  1. NBC should just bring back more halfway decent late 80's/early 90's sitcoms, I'd watch reboots of Night Court and Wings.
  2. BBC Worldwide produces the show so I doubt it. I wonder if they'll keep running Top Gear reruns on BBC America, they're about 70% of the programming on the channel.

    30 For 30

I have no idea who Ariel Helwani and Pete Rosenberg are and I found them very annoying, on par with Steve Lombardi in WWE docs. I found this one sorta average, the way it bounced around annoyed me and it kinda dragged at the end. I found it funny that they sorta painted Michigan as the antithesis of Duke, most of the Fab Five and Duke players came from similar backgrounds and Michigan has a lot of rich east coast students who couldn't get into a Ivy League school just like Duke. I never really hated Duke until after the Laettner era, before that it always depended who they played, I always pulled for them against the likes of Michigan, Kentucky, UConn, Kansas, UCLA and North Carolina and was against them when they played the likes of UNLV, Arkansas and Seton Hall.
  4. Sadly it's not. If I remember right Vince and Andre made Heenan stomp grapes for some reason and Heenan bitched the entire time he was doing it so Andre pushed him down. It happened sometime after WM7 when all the heel managers were trying to sign Andre.
  5. They could probably get a lot of stars from the movies. The article I read said the concept was going to be "Iconic TV Badasses Team Up!" so I don't think they plan on using any of the movie actors. Yes, I know Norris had that cameo but his biggest fame was as Walker Texas Ranger so he's more of a tv guy anyway. For me it would only work if they were the actual characters they played in the old shows, so Walker would move up to U.S. Ranger and travel the country teaming up with the likes of Sonny Crockett in Miami to take down some cartel, Ponch and John in LA investigating a car theft ring and maybe head over to Hawaii for some R&R at Robin Master's estate but get's caught up in one of Magnum's cases.
  6. I could see Muta with Hart having a great house show run with Savage or Warrior when they were champs, Muta v. Savage could have been a classic feud, he would have been the perfect guy to bring in for the Warrior after he won the belt and after either of those feuds he could have moved down the card and feuded with Jake Roberts before heading back to Japan.
  7. Wow, Joe Piscipo! I figured they'd skip over him and everyone else from that era not named Edddie Murphy.
  8. Wow, so was that Californians thing their version of a popcorn match? That was not funny at all.
  9. Ugh! Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake and unfunny characters from the 2000's to kick off the show, I have a feeling this nights going to be rough. Also, wow are the Today show people horrible!
  10. The Slap was pretty bad but I guess you have to commend NBC for trying something out of the box. I don't see this show being a blip on the radar of America or causing any discussions outside of Comcast/Universal/NBC owned news and entertainment outlets and pro wrestling message boards. The concept could have made for a great Curb Your Enthusiasm but Larry not actually slapping the kid, just and exaggerated fake slap that everyone thinks was real.
  11. Anyone else think "The Slap" is going to be unintentionally hilarious?
  12. Is it wrong that I'm more disappointed in the offsides penalty at the end over the slant pass call? I really wanted a safety, either Seattle stuffing them or New England taking one on purpose, so we could have seen the Super Bowl end on a 70+ yard fair catch kick attempt.
  13. Nah, the press conference today ratcheted up "Ballgazi" and the press will hound the Pats and the league all week about it. The Commish might get some questions about it at his press conferences but it won't compare to the Ballgazi ones along with the Rice and Peterson stories. Also, every pro team is hooked up with their local cops so this really isn't that big of a story.
  14. The Allegheny County Sheriff who worked for the team thing? Isn't that more on the Sheriff's office than the Steelers?
  15. Disgusting! Also, with how corrupt the state of Pennsylvania is that $60 million will be going into politicians pockets not to help abused kids.
  16. As a Pitt fan I'm happy to see Chryst go as I feel he really isn't a good head coach but the AD is horrible and has screwed up pretty much every coaching hire he's been a part of so I'm frightened on who they're going to hire. I know everyone laughs at him but Pitt shouldn't have fired Wanstache, AD Steve Pederson had no replacement lined up so he went with Heywood who's background he never looked into, the snake oil salesman Graham who never planned on unpacking his bags and Chryst seems like a lost puppy on the sidelines. Had they kept the Stache and paid for some top assistants they'd be an 8 to 10 win team. I also see on some Pitt boards that former Penn State DC Tom Bradley's name is being thrown around, if Pitt hires someone who buried his head in the sand while kids were being raped in the PSU football building all hell will break loose in Oakland. I'm really hoping they'd go with either Tressel or Peillini but they'll end up hiring some assistant coach who's barely on anyone's radar.
  17. USA won the Roller Derby World Cup this past weekend, they defeated England in the finals and Australia defeated Canada for third. Lots of lopsided bouts including Sweden pitching a shutout against Japan (459 to 0) but there was some exciting ones too. I coached Greece(in the process of getting dual citizenship) and we ended up third in our group and lost in a consolation game to Colombia. Group Play(40 minute bouts) Belgium 174 - Greece 96 Greece 125 - Italy 82 Australia 449 - Greece 17 Consolation Bout(60 minutes) Colombia 305 - Greece 136 The event was an amazing experience for everyone involved but the organization and business aspect of it left a bad taste in my mouth.
  18. WFTDA just posted this weekend final! http://wftda.tv/archives/2014-wftda-championships/rose-city-rollers-vs-gotham-girls-roller-derby/
  19. The energy in the building was unbelievable for the Gotham/Rose game. One of the loudest derby crowds I've ever heard. I was there this weekend and you're spot on with it being one of the loudest crowds in history, Rose got the ball rolling with their amazing intro and Gotham followed it up with a pretty bad ass one too, the whole arena doing the flying motion for Scald Eagle was also really cool. Last nights final was hands down the best bout in the short history of the sport but the whole weekend was filled with amazing bouts and moments, when WFTDA puts everything up on YouTube watch as much as you can.
  20. It was #3 but very very close with the Piper - Adonis "retirement" hair match.
  21. If we wanna do Rocky IV..... Apollo is the heel, not Drago. His insistence on showing up Drago - who just wants a chance to ply his trade - is what led to his demise. His only babyface traits are that he's American and we know him from the other movies. But taken by itself, he's clearly the heel.. It was hard enough to believe that two caucasian men were competing for the heavyweight boxing title at the tiume, but not now Eastern Europe and Russia has had some badass representation in the boxing world lately. It wasn't a title fight, Rocky vacated his title so he could go fight Drago in Moscow. It's mentioned briefly in the press conference scene and again at the start of Rocky V, when the Don King style promoter tries to set-up a fight with Rocky and new champ Union Kane.
  22. If the bracket holds this weekend the London-Texas bout Sunday night should be a classic. Both have transfers that can make a big difference, Texas picked up Team USA member Trauma from KC and London picked up Kid Block from Tiger Bay. I saw Kid Block play at ECDX for Tiger Bay and she was really impressive, totally dominated every bout she was in that weekend, she's also going to represent England at the World Cup. In other derby news, I'm going to be one of the coaches of Team Greece for the World Cup! http://www.gofundme.com/teamgreece14
  23. He isn't going to be fired for how he initially handled the scandal, it's going to be due to all of his bumbling the past few days and not having this whole thing go away quickly and quietly. If you just spent $1.4 Billion buying the Buffalo Bills do you want Roger Goodell at your side trying to get taxpayers to pay for a new stadium? if you own the 31 other teams in the NFL do you want Roger Goodell at the wheel when it come to the Los Angeles situation? The smart owners know that an expansion team will bring them a insane amount of money in expansion fees, do you want that golden goose killed via the Raiders or Rams moving there when their leases are up after next season? Do you want the Chargers mucking things up with their claims of territorial rights to LA? Do you want him as the face of the league trying to get taxpayers and investors to build a stadium at minimal cost to the league and potential owner? I could go on and on. Goodell hasn't worked anywhere but the NFL and he got the internship because his father was a powerful political figure in New York, he doesn't have the public realtions background like Pete Rozelle or law background of Paul Tagliabue. He's a rich kid who had the connections and kissed enough ass to get where he is, he's disposable to the owners.
  24. While Art Rooney hasn't been known for his pettiness, I can't imagine Ravens fans are going to be happy to see him involved. And well not sure anyone is happy for Mara after he stooged the Cowboys and Redskins on that salary cap issue Rooney and Mara are the only two owners respected enough by the media and other owners to oversee this investigation and they'll be the ones who decide if Godell stays or goes. I doubt many people will buy two owners, no matter how well they are respected, to oversee an independent investigation. October is shaping up to be a very difficult and uncomfortable month for the NFL. \/\/\/ While they are good names it is not like we are getting an independent investigation. This was another misstep. The 32 NFL owners are Goodell's boss and the two most respected and powerful owners are the one's overseeing it, what other route could they have taken. This investigation is just a formality so they have a reason to fire him come the owners meeting next month, it's going to be like the scene at the end of Casino when all the old mobsters decided who lives or dies and Goodell will have the same fate as Alan King's character.
