  1. At least they can sell it like they ran them outta town.
  2. Well, if they had no use for Buddy Murphy, you just got three months of free money before your 90 days started. And I like Nese a lot.
  3. So, Synth-Wave, anyone? In 2021? I run like a motherfucker on that shit! Commodore 64 and Amiga with Italo post-apocalyptic B-movie stuff thrown in! Amazing!
  4. Since all of MFr's like Baltimora so much, you should open your eyes on to more Italo Disco, because that shit is amazing! Tell me Sunny Beach shouldn't have entered his UWF matches to "Vamos A La Playa" and you and I are gonna have 'em words!
  5. Nobody in the history of anything since the first season of "Golden Years" is or will be as pretty as Conti was in this picture. ...aaand now that I'm slightly less drunk I realize the show was called "Wonder Years" , but if it makes it funnier for y'all, it's ok if you think I was referring to Betty White in the first season of Golden Girls. She was still quite the dish at that time, I'm sure.
  6. I seem to recall a magnificent one against D'Lo Brown, which would have been at SummerSlam'98, but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, it was always totally insane and totally beautiful! Oh,oh,oh when Davey Boy bounced upside down in the corner and bounced back down RIGHT on his fucking head, as witnessed in that late '99 PPV match against The Rock! He used to do that fairly regularly, but just hitting the corner upside down, not landing on his head. He had no business taking bumps like that at that stage. But hey, he turned out fi... wait no, definitely not a good idea.
  7. I started cutting back on my drinking radically (for me, anyway) in fall of 2019, meaning cutting back on the times I consumed any alcohol at all. When I do though, it's usually not just a couple. I'm a social drinker, but that's not a necessity, as I can be very social on a message board while drinking, with no one else around. I prefer my own couch or my friend's couch to bars, however. I go to a bar maybe two times a year. But communication is the number one thing while getting a buzz on. If you have no one to "talk" to in one way or another, then what's the point in the first place?
  8. It sure counts man, even if Ålanders identify themselves more as Swedish. And I think this stuff is what Swedes call "mellanöl" as in "between beer" ( you can see the Roman numeral II at the bottom), as in between light beer (I)and standard beer (III) Then there is strong beer (IV) and the Gin Long Drink I mentioned is 5,5%, standard strong beer would be about that level. So, no 13% stuff over there, no Sir! If you ever get the chance to visit Finland, though, then hard pass... just kidding! It's pretty cool place, actually. As is Sweden, if we are being honest.
  9. Like AxB said in the Main Event thread, he had two things going for him and they took them both away. And like I said over there, that sounds about right. As in, that sound exactly like something they would do and then blame Kross for not getting over.
  10. Ok, so there is actually going to be a 3-way with Coffey, Rampage and Dragunov! Holy shit!
  11. One of the best Priest songs ever! Thanks! Hang in there man, we all love you!
  12. Oh that's where Roddy was! Thanks! Also, Zoey Stark is awesome. My wife hopes women would wear ponytails for convenience. We both like Pete Dunne. Good times.
  13. I don't drink beer, but in Finland we have this thing called Gin long drink. A dose of gin in a fizzy grapefruit soft drink. When I endulge, that is my go to drink.
  14. I'm oddly fascinated by the idea of Kross vs Benjamin. Reed vs Gulak could be swank if it was competitive enough. I have my doubts about that, though.
  15. The week is once again most likely done at this point. Nordic Midsummer is upon us that means binge- drinking, meat and sausages on the grill and trying to avoid drowning. The real Scandinavians may have other weird-ass customs at this time of year, but for a large portion of us Finns, I pretty accurately described next three days. I feel like I may have peaked a bit early, as the summer vacation is a couple of weeks away and I feel spent. I managed two workouts, one 12-hour shift (Monday night) and after I woke up this afternoon, one walk/jog to the stairs (on top a a hectic 4-day work week due to Friday being off). After the jog, I weighed in at 169 and there's no way I want to go below 165, but I can feel my metabolism slowing down, so I don't think that's gonna happen anyway. As a funny side note, at the stairs, there were two kids sitting at the top of them, packed lunch and all, with their phones. I really hope they weren't watching videos of people running up a flight of stairs on Youtube while sitting there. As a prize for winning the 50-hour exercise challenge at work (with 214 hours in 3 months), I got a power wheel and a massage hammer. I guess I have a spare hammer now and I did not have a power wheel at home, so yay! Workouts were the usual full upperbody on Tuesday and Squat machine/calves, shrugs and other light upperbody stuff on Wednesday. Just to get something done. Now I'm starting to think my abs have never looked better. Too bad my skin is nowhere near as firm as it was at 37 or so. That may ruin the effect a little bit. Also, now I can clearly see the effect of doing reverse shrugs for more than a year. Ok, so THAT is pectoris minor. I'm not sure if I like it. I guess I understood "barrel-chested" a bit wrong. Well it's too late now, it's not like I can stop once I see something actually becoming more pronounced at this stage. If within the next two days some of my posts are (even) less coherent than usual, it will most likely be due to Vodka and Gin. I'll pick my self up and start again next week!
  16. Drew vs Lashley in a Cell was like 8 GT's at breakfast (depending how you feel about that sort of thing). Drew vs Lashley in a Cell ending the way it did was like the ending of a day with 8 GT's at breakfast (regardless of how you feel about that sort of thing).
  17. Well, not sure if funny is the exact phrasing for it, but it's definitely a thing that might happen. I'm not sure if you were referring to a situation where they weren't trying to tape without fans but no one would want to show up, then yeah, that would be tragi-comical at the very least.
  18. I thought Ahmed was awesome. I started reading the internet about a year after he had debuted in the WWF and until then I figured he was about as good as it gets. The first big injury derailed him bad. Then he seemed to be injuring himself whenever he got some steam back. Before that, he was injuring others. Without people obviously playing against him and that first big injury, his WWF career could have looked way different. If you think the fans at the time wouldn't have bought him as the champ, I've got news for ya! He was really over and getting more so, before he had to give up the IC title due to injury. After that, it was never the same for him again. First black WWF champion would have been him, under just slightly different circumstances.
  19. "I'll guard these melons with my life! I've got nine, and I'll go straight for the jugular! Your call!"
  20. Yeah, I don't know how WWE wants me to feel about the whole angle and I try not to get bothered about it, because it's main roster, so no biggie. But they did miss an opportunity, when Shanyna stomped Alexa's arm and she screamed at first but then started laughing. Since she can do that double jointed thingy with her arm, she should have done that, then straighten it back into place, like Triple H's vampire character in Blade Trinity did! That would have been amazing.
  21. In the vignettes I saw, Shayna was indeed doing a good job. When Bayley pointed out that she was once like Bianca, that was good, but most of the stuff in the recap revolved around the stupid fake laughter and Bayley should be better than that. I don't really see how Alexa isn't believable in her role, other than the fact that being posessed by a demon nun isn't believable in and of itself, since it hasn't happened since the 70's.
  22. I've pretty much only seen the stuff shown on PPV's, but every glimpse I've seen has been top notch, especially given the material she has to work with.
  23. Now obviously Bayley vs Bianca was on a whole another level as a match, but it is interesting that Bayley' great character work has been reduced to a fake laughter that she's absolutely terrible at while Alexa Bliss continues to be absolutely on point with every little thing her character does (well, not necessarily the wrestling part, but still). The material she's stuck with should sink absolutely anyone and she's swimming laps around basically everyone else. She might want to do some small scale acting in the near future.
  24. I was going to mention this, Easy Lover and I Wish it Would Rain. Land of Confusion and Invisible Touch are Genesis, so I'll let those slide. No disrespect meant to AAO, which is magnificent, obviously.
