  1. If you want proof The NFL isn't rigged, I present Geno Smith vs Brock Purdy - Playoff Game for your consideration lol.
  2. Of all weeks to physically shove a trainer / medical staff. Jesus. Glad he got ejected.
  3. With that catch Golladay is only.... 72 catches away from hitting his contract bonus this year... oh, so close. The result of this can't feel good for The Eagles. They win. They get the number 1 seed. But they barely survived a bunch of 3rd stringers. On the other hand The Giants have to feel pretty good. They hung in with the number 1 seed's ones for the whole game. Some good defensive play. Some good offensive play. Kept momentum in a loss. Bring on The Vikings.
  4. Is Vince not a McMahon? Am I supposed to extrapolate The McMahons to somehow not include Vince? Maybe think before you type then? If you meant The McMahons that are not Vince, say that. Otherwise McMahons clearly does include Vince. NONE of them are running a territory out of New York by the way. Territories died 40 years ago. So regardless of the intent of your subject, it's an asinine thought. Of the 5 of them only maybe Triple H would have the passion to do anything non-WWE if he's not included in a WWE sale. Stephanie, Vince, Linda for sure are WWE all or nothing. Shane, it depends how much coke he's had that day. He's more likely to start a slap fight league to compete with Dana White probably. But NONE of them would even fathom the thought or running a territory in the 2020s. And with that I've already spent too much time and energy with replies to this dumb thought. So I say good day to you.
  5. WWA who only ran 5 shows (only 2 of which were based in the United States) over 3 years counts as a nation promotion? XWF who ran a marathon studio taping and couldn't sell shit to a fly counts as a national promotion? A promotion existing doesn't constitute a national promotion. Touring / TV distribution on a national network / functioning as an active promotion, not just an indy that threw their low budget quarterly shit up on the Cablevison is a prerequisite to being a national promotion. WWE. WCW. ECW. Later stage TNA. AWA. AEW. Shit even ROH had that HD-Net show for a minute. Those are national promotions. XWF & WWA aint it. The only gimmick I have is dude that posts his thoughts & opinions. You're the one predicting an almost 80 year old McMahon chomping at the bit to run a monthly territory out of MSG for some reason. So maybe that uniformed label is a bit of projection?
  6. TNA Started in June of 2002. How does TNA starting a full 15 months after Vince created a monopoly negate that monopoly? Did I misunderstand the question? Vince buying the last of the national promotions surely constitutes a monopoly in principal. If Papa Johns bought up all the national pizza chains and all that remained were small local ones that only serviced one town, then Papa Johns would have a monopoly in practice as well. TNA started in June of 2002. I'd argue it didn't really count as a national promotion until it got on Spike TV in October of 2005. So essentially there was a monopoly in practice from March 2001 until October 2005, in my opinion at least.
  7. -Boy are there some... bad posts in the last page or so. Mostly by the same person. Uh why in the world would Vince come back to sell WWE and run a Capitol Wrestling territory out of NY? At the age of 78 or 79 by then, he's just going to start over from scratch? For what purpose? If he does sell WWE (and I'm still not sure that's the purpose of any of this) why in the world would he stay in the non-WWE wrestling space? Wrestling isn't Vince's life. WWE is his life. The brand. The history. The family connection. His 40 years of control and molding a vision. Less that ZERO chance of something like that happening or even being considered a rational thought. -WWE Land with multiple shows happening in the same park, also dumbbbb. Pro wrestling ain't Disney. There's what, AT MOST, a top line number of 5 million-ish people in the United States that even care the tiniest slightest bit about wrestling. Of that number less than half watch a TV wrestling program regularly. Less than that number care to attend the shows. Disney has hundreds of millions of people all over the world willing to come to their parks. And even they are having trouble making it work. You couldn't even have ONE WWE Land in the world because your pool of people willing to go is probably about 1 million. And of those 1 million I'd venture to guess less than half have the means to make it happen. -Now Triple H, if not retained in a WWE sale, I could see trying something. What it is I'm not sure. I could see him being savvy enough to work a deal to get the rights to NXT & it's library instead of his share of a stock buyout. Now he wouldn't get the performance center. But a corporate whatever that doesn't know wrestling won't really understand the value of the NXT brand and trademarks. I mean it's not WWE right? It's just the name of a show to them that doesn't get that many viewers. I could see them, saying sure turn down your 30 million payout and keep NXT. Do your thing Paul lol.
  8. So is it the Mimosa Mayhem match from AEW with Pitch Black in there instead? Or is it the WM7 blindfold match with Pitch Black logos on the hoods? Can't wait to find out lol.
  9. This financial talk is fascinating to me. And Gregg is doing a phenomenal job breaking down all the ins and outs of the stock market related components. But I'm baffled so many people are missing the mark of what's actualy happening here. WWE isn't for sale. Vince will NEVER sell. He was gone 6 months and HATED it. He's not going to sell the company to cash in and be a weird rich billionaire. He's already got more money than he could spend in 50 life times. This has nothing to do with money. Running WWE is his only passion / hobby / obsession / purpose in life. He pulled the nuclear option to get back in and make sure they *can't* sell. This was a strategic move to get back into his old spot. He knew dropping lines about the media deals & sales would drum up tons of stock market enthusiasm. Meaning if the board publicly rebuffed him shareholders would be furious. They would argue the board is preventing WWE from making the most profitable decisions by not allowing Vince in to make those sales. These aren't wrestling people. They don't understand Vince is an unhinged maniac. They think he's this brilliant businessman. And he is. But he's also got a death grip on this thing til the day he dies. WWE will not sell while Vince is alive. I'm 4,000% sure of it.
  10. Honestly that is a pretty fair outcome. It includes some wiggle room for multiple possible scenarios, but also if those scenarios are not needed it doesn't really mess with anyone else. The Ravens would still get a 50/50 chance for a home game if they win Sunday. Which they probably wont. But they still have the presumed possibility if they somehow pull it off. Neutral site AFCCG only applies to a couple scenarios, not everyone. Like if the AFCCG somehow ends up being say Charges and Jaguars or something, wouldn't be fair for that game to be a neutral site just because of Monday's tragedy. Pretty good resolution to everything in my opinion.
  11. I don't think making a one time decision to put a game at a neutral site making the entire season struggle trying to get that home field advantage moot is going to avoid adding *s to the season. The AFC side is going to have an * no matter what.
  12. Going from the crying fan in the front row during Bryan's retirement speech on Raw to reffing a match of his in Seattle. Wild. That show was fucking fire. I thought all of it landed. That stage looked bad in the pictures that leaked with the Dark logos on it. But goddamn does it look dope in motion. Super big time look. They've really upped their graphics stuff lately too. To me the look and feel of their graphics and trons blows WWE out of the water. Also none of those garbage AR things on the screen. Starks vs Jericho was fucking good. The Memphis booking of Acclaimed vs JJ/JL was fucking good. That main was fun. Mox dropping a ton of F bombs was fun. Damn great show. With LA next week let's hope this sparks a new wave of momentum to ride.
  13. Not plying the game is the right call. Despite whatever flawed math option they go with, it's just not feasible to push back any playoffs. Plus you have the can of worms that Bengals vs Bill happening next week (and nothing else happening) then punishes The Bills & Bengals. The other 12 teams will have a bye week heading into the playoffs and Bills & Bengals wouldn't. That's an unfair competitive advantage for the other teams and Buffalo & Cincy shouldn't be punished because a tragedy happened in their game. The best idea I've heard so far is to erase the unfair / un-even math, you take a loss off of everyone else's records. The math will mostly work out. None of the other teams are going to complain that a loss is taken off of their record. This doesn't screw The Ravens out of a divisional opportunity anymore. This doesn't mess up the top seed race in The AFC too much. It's still not perfect. But it's the least unfair way to balance things I've seen pitched so far. Everything is based on a 16 game record. The 8 teams in the playoffs thing seems wildly unfair and makes it so no team gets a bye. I don't see that being very likely.
  14. No mater what they decide to do, it's not going to be ideal. We'll all have to just be okay with it. So not sure how much it should be nit-picked. But that decision clinches the division for Cincinnati even if Baltimore beats them. Essentially The Ravens would lose the chance to win the division solely on the math. 11 wins out of 16 (Bengals if they lose) will be a better win percentage than 11 wins out of 17 (Ravens in they win). Now it's not very likely The Ravens can win without Lamar. So the result may not matter much. But the path they're taking is flawed if they go that route.
  15. I have literally no idea what this insane rambling means. What viral illness needs 1-2 months of rest? How does any of that factor into the freak athletic phenomenon known as commotio cordis? Because that's what happened. Completely healthy people can suffer from this freak occurrence if taking chest impact at the exact nano second of the electrical impulse output of your heart beating. It has absolutely nothing to do with any viral anything or rest of any kind. It was a one in a million freak accident that can happen to any human (healthy or not) with chest impact.
  16. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned, but this board probably has the most unique view on what happened last night because most of us went through the Owen Hart situation in real time. This felt as close to that situation as anything ever has. And it really really seems like The NFL stance on it was the same as Vince's. The show must go on. Take 5 minutes and let's start this thing back up. I'm proud of how both coaches and all the players banded together to say this man's life is more important than a game, we aren't playing. I'd hate to speculate too much here. But I just hope for a better outcome than what it's seeming like. I'd just point out he positives I see stemming from the terrible tragedy. Fans in the arena were super respectful through the whole ordeal. That's not a given. There are certain fan bases that might not have reacted as politely. That was encouraging to see. It's also heartwarming to see so many people donate to his charity. To go from $5k to $5million in a day is amazing. People reaching out and doing something positive when we all feel so helpless is definitely a silver lining. As for the logistics of what The NFL does, I have no idea. I'd hope no one in the league is going to make a fuss however it shakes out. It's not important. Give them both a tie. Call it forfeit and give them both losses. Give the Bengals a win / Bills a loss because of the score at the time it ended. None of them are ideal but it's not important enough to second guess. Just make a call and move on. There is zero percent chance they try to re-play or finish this game. It's over, it's a tragedy. We gotta move on. Just decide who gets losses or ties and tell the clubs to deal with it and go forward and hope for the best for Damar.
  17. I didn't watch Raw, did the announce it this way on the show? 100% I get it from a behind the scenes - merge the titles sense, but just curious how they make sense of it in kayfabe. Every defense for almost a year has been a unified title match. But now all of a sudden if you win this major accomplishment, your prize is less than what you would get in a normal match over the last 7 months? Messy.
  18. Post All Out was 4 months alone. So I think your math is a bit off. (Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec)
  19. The NY football GIANTS are in the playoffs. They're finally looking good against a bad team instead of playing down. That Tayvon sack celebration was not a great look with Foles in so much pain. But I'll over look it since The Giants are.... IN THE PLAYOFFS!
  20. The injury is a non factor in the whole situation. He seems to be pretty mobile and healthy and not wearing any brace while doing MMA commentary. So the real sticking point is how The Elite feel / how much truth there is to the Jericho 'I wont let him come back' stuff / if he's willing to apologize and all that. It's by no means a lock. But I think there are feelers out there. I don't think this is like his Colt grudge or his WWE grudge. I think he's wiling to let this one go. But the ball is not in his court. The ball is in TK's court / The Elite's court / the locker room's court. I very much want it to happen. And I'm starting to see a path for it to be possible for the first time. But it's certainly not something I'm saying is a lock. Punk is super private. But him posting a comment on a post asking for everyone to shake hands and move on good indicator that he's over it all. Or at least I hope so.
  21. Oh no. You made a fast break on the topic because your original one was shot down. That's not a good sign for where this is going. But I will bite. I'm not sure. I wouldn't expect TV executives to be "in the bubble" like us. The pay for a sport / entertainment program. I'm not sure to what extent they care about the size of the live audience (as long as it looks good on TV). Like an NFL game the network could give a shit how many people buy tickets. They just care about the TV ratings. Wrestling isn't a 1:1 for The NFL. But as long as the way it's shot makes it look good on TV (and AEW is very good at making the crowd look full & is framed well even on down houses), my guess is that it doesn't matter that much to them. They'll want TV ratings. They'll want a loud excited rowdy crowd that looks great on TV. They'll want entertaining content. But in my opinion the amount of tickets sold isn't a very big concern to the network paying for the TV. As long as the shows come across well they probably couldn't care less if it's 8,000 or 14,000 or 3,000 or 0 with 3,000 people let in for free.
  22. According to The Googles.... August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March... Revolution is about 6.75 months from the tear... Just saying. Dax & Punk are tight. He wouldn't have floated that thought without Punk's blessing. Punk himself commented on a post today saying when there is an issue like The Elite & Punk one in wrestling, guys should just shake hands and let it go with "duh". Punk seemingly has the opinion of wanting to come back & let bygones be bygones. I'm not saying it's going to happen. But it's certainly on the table. And his injury should just about be all healed up. You know wrestling inflates the length of recovery so everyone looks like Superman when they come back early. CMFTR vs The Elite would be dope if we do get it.
  23. Ah more data stretching, fun lol. WBD were in the house at the last LA Dynamite as well. Ya know since LA is where WBD is headquartered. It was the MJF shooty promo episode. Does that also count as an "impressing the suits" edition? Or could it be that if a show they pay to produce is in their city, they will go and check it out? Could that be it? Could it be that simple? Is it possible your hate boner is sensationalizing a full on nothing into a something? The world may never know.
  24. I just wanted to point out how much fun that episode was with such a hot crowd. They were into everything. Dueling Danielson / Ethan Page chants. Losing it during Top Flight vs Combat Club. Loud Ruby chants. Loving the Trios Match. More audiences like this please.
