  1. Does anybody have any thoughts on the Thekla signing? And if you’re familiar, do you have any match recommendations to share? She’s a complete unknown to me, but I generally speaking am very interested in anybody coming over from Japan.
  2. Further, I’m not sure there was more than one person that read your Yuta/Hobbs response and thought: I need to explain to this guy and everybody the importance of a dominant win. Is anybody actually arguing against a dominate shorter match win here or there? Pretty certain I’ve seen Omega, Rush and Alexander/Takeshita score these type of victories over the past few weeks.
  3. There are sometimes arguments made here that remind us what a great job AEW is doing to be an alternative to WWE and it’s creative ethos.
  4. I'd rate the Sisters and especially the single in question as timeless. Perhaps a fan might suggest the same of Sum41. Forgive me on the release date, but the formula hasn't changed much since their early aughts emergence. Thanks for the tip on the hilarious exchange. And that was a really fun and lively Collision that totally over delivered. Ricochet is on fire.
  5. I’m all for Dynamite having an opening video, but using yesteryear mall punk is amongst my least favourite musical choices possible. I’d gladly take Mike Ruckus (and gleefully the Pointer sisters) over this one. Disappointed, but I suppose it’s better than nothing.
  6. With Maple Leaf Wrestling returning to the Maple Leaf Gardens this Saturday night, here's highlights from the Maple Leaf Pro Mayhem shows in March featuring music from the original broadcast score from 1984-85 featuring Bowie, ZZ, Human League, MJ, Janet, etc. https://youtu.be/0rKWqluEoCc?si=SgCfanqu3l1EdUop
  7. In celebration of the return of Maple Leaf Wrestling to the Gardens, here's a Maple Leaf Pro Mixtape ft. Bowie, ZZ, Human League, MJ, Janet, etc.https://youtu.be/0rKWqluEoCc?si=SgCfanqu3l1EdUop
  8. Yeah, that whole ordeal was a bit frustrating. As is AEW-Rush in general. He's always great, but you never know when he'll completely disappear again. I really hoped to see them go forward with Dutch/Archer as a tag team. They worked really well together. Dutch has interesting charisma. I wonder where he'll show up next.
  9. Amen! Further, I'd love for first fall rules to be buried alongside McMahon. The ECW elimination style 3-4 ways rarely unsatisfied like the roulette first fall bullshit (especially title matches). I'd also love it if there were 85% less 'stereo' spots. Nothing worse than a wrestler stopping his offense to check if his partner is in position to do the same move to the other tag partner. Well maybe worse is the opponent who suddenly falls terribly ill to ready some stereo suplex spot.
  10. I agree on Willow. She’s long been ready for a far bigger spotlight. I sorta wondered if there was an outside reason for the lack of tv time. The position alongside Cope was an okay rub, but that should have been parlayed quickly. Willowmania needs to run fucking wild already. I totally agree on Marina-the wrestler, but Marina-the bodyguard has been pretty great from the beginning. I just always hoped the endgame wasn’t her wrestling.
  11. Not exactly a generous crowd in Atlantic City. Did these ppl get some sort of a 2 for 1 voucher with their meal? Seems like they all would have been happier gambling/touristing. Nonetheless a Neat looking venue. Toni was magnificent as per usual. FTR-Paragon was awesome, but might’ve benefitted from a tiny bit of promotion. Alexander-Brody was the highlight. Seeing Roosh eat every one up before his bullshit disappearance was also a highlight. Sammy Guevara’s bid to be a babyface continues to fail. Nigel suggesting AR Fox needs new gear was lame - I love Fox’s simple (sans corny designs) looking presentation. I thought Adam Cole was really solid on commentary - I sense there’s a future there. Some good stuff but the lifeless crowd made everything feel that much less important.
  12. Not that anybody could have predicted the Timeless character, but there was somebody from the beginning who saw Toni Storm as a top star - Dean. I hadn't seen Toni prior to AEW, but Dean suggested to me that she was as good as anybody in the world. He sang her praises every week in his wonderful and sorely missed reviews.
  13. I suspect Rhino will be in to avenge his good friend Adam's injury at the hands of the wonderfully treacherous FTR. Maybe a segment on Wednesday sets up a 'Collision Main Event' of Rhino/Garcia vs. FTR. If that is the case those three will know exactly how to best use him.
  14. I was a fan of the Caster gimmick from the get-go, but I wonder if it wouldn't have been better served with half way competitive matches. I've been ffwding him lately. The mic work has gotten a bit tedious with the extended play for chant-a-longs.
  15. The argument concerning AEW using Video packages on their shows was even more Brain Draining in its way. Wai Ting is a thoughtful breath of fresh air in a wide shitty podcasting landscape of loud voices and the hot takes that draw the flies to their shit. Pollock needs to get over his discovery of sarcasm. Bruce Lord and Karen Peterson on the Post team might be the best duo of all. Tho, their being behind a paywall doesn't help their exposure or my chance to listen.
  16. The opener had a lot of comedy to contend with - I was mostly with it. The overly contrived 'Stereo' spots are what really challenged my patience. I like seeing all the positivity for this show. I really liked Toni-Yamashita and loved the quick cut of Toni dancing to Hayter's music. Encore! Some fun stuff, but a lot of clumsy talkies and weird timing. I gotta take this show out for a second spin without all the long breaks.
  17. Hey Poe, make sure you have a look at 'The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed' by Joanna Arnow. Very excited by this new voice, and to see what she does next. 'Feeling...' is certainly a dvisive film, but I thoroughly loved it. (Executive Producer) Sean Baker must've liked it too. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVacS6T7jxs&pp=0gcJCdgAo7VqN5tD
  18. Jokes aside, this is what I was talking about... https://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/aew/wardlow-announced-for-pandemonium-pro-wrestling-jeff-hardy-set-for-tna-impact-mlw-note And cancelled... https://411mania.com/wrestling/wardlow-no-longer-competing-at-pandemonium-pro-the-house-always-wins-replaced-by-duke-hudson/
  19. Wardy was a part of that Kingdom group too. I'm game for the Warlow/Bennett/Taven revenge tour. Note: I just looked up Wardlow. Still out with a knee injury. He was supposed to Wrestle a date during Wrestlemania week, but I don't think it happened. EDIT: Yamashita v Toni Storm announced. That should be a helluva deal.
  20. Did you get this? I'm an OG subscriber, but haven't see this in the inbox. I love that Criterion allows the combination of coupons. I've got some serious accumulation going on here! Might even have enough to cover the shipping to Canada!(!!)
  21. Yeah, that Kingston episode of Way of the Blade might be Phil's finest to date. Eddie is such a treat to listen to.
  22. There's also Punk's dive into the crowd, er guard rail(?), during his entrance prior to whatever that Dynamite Trios match was.
  23. Wow, all new to me, but this sounds 'Amazing!' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easy_Rider:_The_Ride_Back
