  1. That was a year long storyline about who is the real leader of the bullet club. I really, really, really don’t want any storylines involving evp’s and power struggles and all that. I’m sure one day they will feud and the past will be brought up, but I’d prefer them to make that as un-meta as possible.
  2. https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2021-07-25/olympic-seats-empty-tokyo-pro-wrestling-seats-full
  3. There’s a number of Japanese toy sites that carry those figures, such as https://www.goodsmile.info/en/products/search?utf8=✓&search[query]=Wrestling&commit=Search#searchResults However, the figures like Andre, Nakamura, Asuka, and Hogan are licensed by wwe, and I believe part of the arrangement is that they can’t be sold to US addresses. I tried ordering the Nakamura one from like four different sites, and you add to your cart and go through all the normal processes, and then once you enter your address it says something like “I’m sorry, we are not allowed to sell this item to your country.” So ebay is the only way to go afaik.
  4. I’m cross posting this from the podcast thread. More people will see it here and I probably should have posted here to begin with. Highly recommend listening to the whole thing. Kenny omega on wrestling observer radio was very interesting. Two hours and he’s quite intelligent and honest. Only caught three quarters. -Kenny says when looking on who to mold himself on to do American tv, instead of ric flair it was Mr. perfect. Of course mr perfect has incredible matches with Bret hart, but he also wrestled hulk Hogan and ultimate warrior and Texas tornado and they are all good matches, and he makes them all look good. And mr perfect had Bobby heenan, omega has don Callis. -He compared nakamura and callis as guys who have outside interests bigger than wrestling, so that gives them a different perspective when they come to wrestling. They don’t mimic stuff from the last like other wrestlers who are just all about wrestling. -Complaining about commercials. He was watching the show the other day and noticed all the commercials were like these wacky slapstick commercials with silly music, but the match is a street fight, and then the fans have to get zapped right back to that with that in their head. -He wants rampage to be more for women wrestlers, but that doesn’t mean it will be that way. Everyone (male and female) is fighting really hard for the limited spots. -In the beginning they would have scheduled meetings and hash things out. Now if someone has an idea, they discuss it with the people the idea is about, then they discuss it with Tony, then they continue discussing it as weeks for by. -Talking about long term storytelling. You see tv shows that get cancelled and then years later they come back. If you leave stories open ended you can always return to them. He has open stories with hangman, ibushi, styles, white, tanahashi. -Dave is saying all the matches can be done in the United States because the way the crowd is, when any of these guys come out a large amount will react like this is huge, and then that makes everyone who doesn’t know them feel like they are seeing something special, which makes the tv audience think it’s a big deal. -omega vs Okada 5 “already happened in their minds” and they would have made it like a cool final ending. It could happen in the future and as Dave says they’ve never done that match here and everyone wants to see it. -He held back so much in the jungle boy match so they can take the rematch to a completely different level. -He’s at peace with winding down his career so he just wants to make his opponents look great. -Talking about how in new japan they see guys like goto and say he’s too old or ishii could just never be champion, and Kenny is like they’re awesome let’s just get behind them and give them big wins. Naito should’ve been way stronger champion. -For g1 they have unspoken rule, they don’t want to drop out of the tournament. They have to have amazing matches but they can’t get too injured. It’s just like the playoffs for a sport. I still haven’t listened to last half hour.
  5. I selfishly hope the announcement is the first California show, like a major show in LA. Since New Years is a Saturday and it’s right between ppvs I could definitely see the announcement being the first tnt special (regardless of location). We shall find out!

  7. An instant sellout is not enough. They would need to push it, and I’d say a unique baseball stadium would be perfect. Wrigley field or Fenway park would be amazing.
  8. If anyone is planning on going to the dynamite in Cincinnati, the presale code for tomorrow is CINHEELS.
  9. I wasn’t following but heard there was a Thursday presale, and then Friday when the tickets would have go on sale the venue made a post saying the show was cancelled. Not sure it’s automatically because of low ticket sales, but I might not know the whole story.
  10. I didn’t realize at first but this will be a kidless show. No entry without proof of vaccination means no kids under 12. When was the last wwe show with zero children?
  11. What did you think of the show? I’d like to know, and so would many others.
  12. Yeah I’d do grand slam as one of the four tnt specials. Hopefully they can space out the date better between ppvs so it’s an easier big destination show.
  13. They still have four upper sections on the hard cam side to open, but other than that Arthur Ashe stadium is pretty much sold out. Now we’ll see if they use a smaller stage and open up the seats above the stage to get to 19k. Edit: they opened two obstructed view 100 sections. Edit: 4 obstructed view 100 sections. First two are almost gone. Edit: last 4 upper level sections are up. This will be sold out in 15 minutes. Edit: looks like sales have slowed down. There’s a couple thousand of the worst upper level seats left but it’s already gonna look awesome. Edit: they just opened two 100 level sections behind the stage so looks like they’re going for 19k. Those tickets are moving. Only $25.
  14. Mox is on the new japan LA show and Archer isn’t. For all the new japan talk last night I sure noticed they never mentioned the show in LA. As everyone said that was an awesome show with an awesome crowd. Just perfect all the way around.
  15. All it would take is for a company to sponsor them and pay for a work visa and they are good to go. I’m sure between aew, impact, and roh that will happen. Weren’t they part of that second batch that was released more recently? Maybe I’m trippin.
  16. That’s where I was worried about them for this show. But, looks like there was nothing to worry about. Over 8k so far.
  17. I went to g1 special in San Francisco the day before my second kid was born. Flying close to the sun haha.
  18. They just opened the 100 sections on hard cam side.
  19. They’ve opened the top level across from the stage and a couple more sections on the hard camera side. Seems like it’s slowing down a bit now. But this presale was advertised for tomorrow, I have to think it’s selling out on Friday. If not a sellout it’s going to be very full.
  20. @Zakk_Sabbath Presale was supposed to begin Thursday but that’s when US Open tickets go on sale for the same venue, so they bumped it up a day. If I see any presale codes I’ll add them here. Hope it does really well. If the crowd is pretty full it’s going to look amazing on tv. PRESALE CODE AEW718 I’ll post more as I see them. Ticketmaster has separate presales for venue and aew listed so I’m sure there’s more codes.
  21. Edit: I should’ve posted in the pic thread where the original was discussed, but I feel the vid warrants a post.
  22. He’s got some kind of software program that counts every individual seat. So the numbers are accurate.
  23. There’s a great new Twitter account, @wrestletix . He created software which checks all the seat maps and posts daily updates on capacity and tickets sold, etc. He also posts presale codes @Zakk_Sabbathgood luck!
  24. This was my favorite pic I took. Super fun show, I’ll be back next month. edit to add: I also have tix for the sold out hoodslam return to Oakland next month. There is a lucha show in Modesto next Friday headlined by Dragon Lee. That’s about an hour away from me and I thought about it but probably won’t go. I saw a flyer about pwr doing some paid outdoor shows at a brewery street event in San Jose every weekend next month, I’ll definitely hit up one of those at least. And no word about apw, Markus Mac said they’d be running shows when they could get to full capacity, that’s now in California and the cities in the Bay Area, although it is now looking like things could change for worse. But regardless, I’m so excited to have all this wrestling back. I can pretty much go to a show once a week, and there’s good wrestlers on the shows.
  25. What’s an easy way to post photos here from your phone? I went to the west coast pro show today in south San Francisco and it was awesome. My first show in 20 months. There were five matches on the undercard, and then after was the double main event of Jorel Nelson vs Karl Fredericks, which was awesome and and they really slugged each other throughout the match. They did an angle at the end to set up a tag match next month. Final main was Lee Moriarty vs Trey Miguel vs Starboy Charlie. Awesome fun match. They really tore the house down and I can’t wait to go back next month.
