  1. Enjoying the game but I really don't think the game does a great job of explaining some of its own systems. Like, why have I picked up an extra follower but I can't "assign" them to my ship, but they're still in the ship anyway? Shit like this doesn't make a ton of sense. Loving the actual game though. It really does feel like an old school Bethesda game to me, warts and all, just in space. I missed this.
  2. I've mostly done sidequests though seeing that I'm pushing main forward now, which is, you know, unusual for a Bethesda game but sure. Probably the most interesting place a side mission took me was I took a cargo run to Red Mile which seems to be some sort of weirdo outlaw outpost where people gamble on deathmatches. Definitely going back there later. Anyway here is my Very Trustworthy guy, the great San Holo.
  3. Man, you forget how good the second Golota vs Bowe fight was. Golota could have absolutely been champion of the world if he had any brain at all. https://youtu.be/SEQKd0lu_VY?si=4m_dAJdhhOLmfYbZ
  4. Weird, that quest worked fine for me. But that's Bethesda for you. I've played like 7 hours and haven't used a gun since the intro dungeon which I guess is because my character just talks to everyone, a lot.
  5. Unsurprisingly, Starfield cracked 1 million concurrent players across all platforms today.
  6. Day 1 and the game is clocking 87% positive reviews on Steam, which is a pretty far cry from whatever Fallout 76 was supposed to be. I, and this will be a shocker, almost immediately got distracted from the main quest because there were random fetch quests to do. Honestly, this feels a lot like an old school Bethesda game to me. The weird alien plants, the gentle background music, it's nice so far. I can see why it's not going to be what some people expected but I'm honestly really enjoying the vibe so far. Does it feel innovative or new to me? Not really. Does it feel good and like a game I could lose a ridiculous number of hours to? Absolutely.
  7. Also I feel like having persuasion (I started as a space scoundrel named, originally, San Holo) paid off right away because I just bullshitted my way past the pirate captain in classic bullshitter fashion. That makes me happy.
  8. It took me about 10 seconds into the tutorial pirate lair to resume my life's quest of being the worst loot hobgoblin of all-time. Desk trinkets? Notepads? A spare wrench? Your houseplants? Nothing is safe. Feels very much like a Bethesda game, but in space. Exactly what I paid for.
  9. Got my SSD in now and the game's buttery smooth. Good shit.
  10. I've never understood the resistance to pickles.
  11. 3 was fine although it committed the cardinal sin of having a big fucking casino in the middle of town that you couldn't actually go into.
  12. Opportunity for a lot of women's division fanfiction here
  13. I don't take any delight in being proven right about Punk, because it definitely hurts AEW's TV presence for him to be gone. But Jesus Christ, it's been something weekly with this guy you can't even keep up with it all. Something had to give.
  14. Figured out my problem was that I didn't read the system requirements properly and I have the game installed to my big HDD when it requires a SSD to expediate mid-area loading. Whoopsie. I should be fine running a SSD with a type USB C through USB A adapter, I hope. The adaptor will cramp the SSD's max read/write speed but, like, should still be infinitely above HDD speed I should think.
  15. Yeah the performance issues on PC don't even shock me to be honest, and I could just play through them if I wanted to. But I'll probably wait for the inevitable early performance patch before really digging in.
  16. It stutters like crazy for me but seems cool. The Steam forums are alight with butthurt white trash scum angry the game has pronouns, so for that reason alone, easy thumbs up game.
  17. I know the new Saint's Row wasn't exactly successful, but it still feels like "one bad game and the corporate overlords fire everyone", which is a pretty fucked way to try and work.
  18. My favourite thing in the empty arena match is honestly when Lawler comes out and Funk starts giving his shit for dressing up for the full entrance with nobody there. His ability to be funny while also being a maniacal asshole was just something else.
  19. I'm probably gonna go dark on my own thread for like 6 months lol See you in 2024
  20. That's an old engine issue that goes at least back to Morrowind, where save bloat due to the game having to remember open doors and looted chests was an actual serious issue. It was a real thing that you could help yourself by closing doors behind you if you expected to be in a long playthrough, because the saves had to make a note for every open door. Fat Old XBOX saves taking 3 minutes to load was a very real thing. Also if you loot one item from a chest loot them all because it's literally the same thing to the save file. I can barely remember my loved ones' birthdays but my Morrowind knowledge base is inpenetrable.
  21. Remember Skyrim at launch when mammoths would randomly launch people into the upper stratosphere? God, that ruled.
  22. At what point does Punk being a dumb bitch and a drama queen override his value as a draw? It's not now, so don't say now, because it's clearly still hot. But man am I getting tired of him being the modern Shawn Michaels. I still can't believe there are people that think the pipe bomb was a shoot. Unfortunately I think Punk is one of them.
  23. I suppose. It's a shame Usyk is already 36, which granted in boxing these days probably means he has like 5 years left.
