  1. "The next time you wonder if my vision is too 'drab' or my set pieces are too '9/11y' I want you to look at this dead PA and think about if you really want a piece of the fucking Zack Attack."
  2. The sad thing to me is that Uma told her story when she was prepared to do so, but Weinstein being a piece of shit is old news so both the author and the media outlets that regurgitated the article conflated other parts of the story that weren't the point of why she was coming forward to generate something new. Tarantino can be taken to task for the way he runs a set, but that wasn't Uma's intention in telling her story and the secondhand versions of what she said are misconstruing that. I've definitely heard the Diane Kruger choking story before and didn't bat an eye. But I guess I just assumed it was a cameo joke and not that he was actually choking the hell out of her.
  3. I remember Sting's Wolfpac promos being pretty bad too, but maybe it was just jarring after he'd hardly spoken for years. I always thought him joining them had an inherent logic since Lex joined and Sting was always portrayed as an idiot who listened to his friends no matter what.
  4. The people in the replies asking why he's complaining about a free gun are some real obtuse shitheels.
  5. Our 1-year-old terrier mix came down wrong on the bottom of our steps and broke her leg last night. She's in a brace right now, but she's going to need a plate in the leg to maintain circulation. We're looking at a $5,000 bill out of nowhere. When we asked about potential cheaper alternatives, the vet politely said the alternative was amputation. Ugh.
  6. It seems to me WWE should reach out to Izzy with some kind of PC or Full Sail internship, if for no other reason than if this goes badly there's so much footage and so many social media posts for news outlets to reference them. Even if the parents turn it down because there's no money, at least WWE can say they tried.
  7. Sandman living the life he has and coming out looking like silver fox character actor James Remar was unexpected.
  8. An easy way to elevate the Intercontinental championship for Wrestlemania season would be to have the US Champion face the Latin American Champion every year for a shot at the IC.
  9. Teats Clinton has to be the name of someone in Bruce Hornsby's band. Like, tell me that there isn't someone in this picture named Teats Clinton.
  10. I've lived within minutes of Philly my entire life and I try not to go there more than a couple of times a year. Still happy for everyone, as South Jersey is Eagles country by virtue of basically being Philadelphia suburbs, and most of my friends and family are ecstatic. But yeah, Philly is going to Philly.
  11. I loved Team Madness. It's a shame Savage was pretty broken down and probably overdoing it on the gas. Although even if he'd been in great shape he'd still be stuck in dying WCW without an olive branch to go back to WWF.
  12. The consensus in the area from people I've spoken to (besides that Collingsworth can eat a dick) is that they would have listened to Merrill Reece instead of the television commentators, but the radio broadcast was a bit behind the game.
  13. I generally like Corey, but what a dickhead for the parentheses part. This is why Cena's instagram is the best. He's so oblique the posts are sometimes inscrutable.
  14. I'm hardly a Mayberry expert, but I was still really surprised to see that Jack Nicholson guest starred twice on The Andy Griffith Show. I knew he kicked around Hollywood in a variety of weird jobs before Easy Rider, but I'd never seen any of his TV work.
  15. Only thing missing is her friend telling her she's drawlin if she don't let that boul put that jawn on her finger.
  16. It looks alright, but that poor kid is going to get torn to shreds. I thought he was the best part of "Hail Caesar!" but he's clearly in over his head here. It's probably a mixture of not knowing how to make the part his own and not being accustomed to acting against green screen.
  17. Hunter and Shawn both were played out by the DX Band at WM 14 with Hunter winning and Shawn losing. The band also played a gloriously shitty version of America the Beautiful at the beginning of the night that had the crowd in an uproar.
  18. All of that is great, but it is ignoring that his character would do anything for his family.
  19. I'd have to watch all of Roode's NXT matches again to evaluate where he stands with the best NXT performances. He's been a great character since Team Canada, Beer Money had some terrific matches, and he's had consistently good singles output since around the year he challenged Angle at BFG. I sort of fell off on NXT around the time he came in, so that might be a good place to start a deep dive.
  20. My favorite Sting theme was the instrumental version of Seek and Destroy he was using post-Crow song.
  21. Looking at these lists, the most notable thing is that Finn may have been NXT's biggest draw, but his time on top produced some of the least memorable matches of the Takeover era. It's not even that any of them were bad; NXT has just been an embarrassment of riches when it comes to talent and match presentation.
  22. Speaking of theme songs: I just heard Triple H's pre-Motorhead song My Time, and somehow I never noticed the repeated references to "Mr. Dunn." It's weird, because in 1999 it was essentially an in-joke for people that worked at WWF and fans that read the Observer.
  23. It reminds me of one of my favorite Ebert lines: "Predator begins like "Rambo" and ends like "Alien," and in today's Hollywood, that's creativity. Most movies are inspired by only one previous blockbuster."
